Hi, Some parking positions when I am in the PMDG 747-400 appear to be too far forward when I am warped into position, the left inboard engine is interfering with the Jetway and the nose wheel is actually away from the line marker '3'... I can do a short push (shift P) to get into the right position.. is this intentional? I am at E5 now.. I'm too far forward. E7 is the same, E8 seems ok nose wheel on position 8, same with E9.. I haven't gone further with checking them all.. it's not a biggie.. I can just push back a bit.. but I think a couple of positions might have slipped through the cracks, easy done.. I've tried to do something similar with my airports, it ta…

Hi guys, I tidied up a bunch of posts about essentially the same thing since I was last here to answer questions so don't panic if your post is gone. I'll try to answer as much as I can here. Are you still alive? Yep, despite living in shall we say, a colourful part of the world, I'm still here. So far I've avoided being chained to a radiator. Is Airline2Sim still alive? Absolutely. It just went on an extended hiatus while I dealt with some personal stuff that I talked about at the time and although development paused we still pick up new customers daily which is nice. It never really went away. Are you, ya know, ok? I am now. We've al…

A word on the customization of the GSX files contained in the package..... We wanted to include them, as throughout the recording of the series it annoyed me every time I loaded up at a gate and the vehicles were often in conflict with scenery or driving through it. This isn't the fault of GSX as it just uses a radius around the aircraft to draw the vehicles and obviously cannot 'sense' the scenery. The same is true of ground handling programs in X-Plane and even good old AES (I think) had custom gates but the vehicles still used a set path to drive around the aircraft so it wasn't perfect. GSX works on a kind of garbage in, garbage out principle and the only wa…

I'm very surprised to see your new product airport2sim. I think I am going to love it. But you've been away for so long time, and we all were waiting for updates (777 first officer). Then all of a sudden this? It would have been nice if the update came before this new one.

  7. Ben, the streaming is obviously still not working on the website (which is disappointing because I wanted to watch the videos on my phone when I’m bored at work). Is there a way for us to watch them directly on vimeo and bypass the api? Or is this a matter of needing to be ptient a few more months. P.s. is that your voice in fs2crew uk?

  8. **THIS IS NOW SUPERSEDED BY THE NEXT PINNED UPDATE** Hi guys, First things first - why is my streaming from the Airline2Sim website not working - well the API that we use to pull the videos from Vimeo is broken. We're aware of it but there's been some head scratching between us and Vimeo for a few weeks over this. For now you can download the videos and watch them with sound and vision in the mobile, SD and HD formats but you can't stream them as before. I know that while not a disaster this is slightly annoying so this is top of our 'to fix' list. Next - where the Hell have you been since September - well if you remember my note from then I went …

Hi Ben I hope all is going well for you. I keep swinging by the forum in the hope of some news on the Airline2Sim roadmap, but things have been looking a bit dormant around here. Just a quick note of whether the Airline2Sim project is still going would be great. Cheers Rich

  11. Ok gents, we've now completed the flying section of the 777 Cadet Training Program. We've taken you from being a rookie pilot on the ramp at Kona to slithering down the slide at Doha after a pretty stressful engine failure on takeoff. I'm sure by now you know a lot more about the 777 than you did 22 episodes ago! We've got two more to come - one is the 777 options video where we'll look at setting up things like FSUIPC, reverse, axis, the FMC options etc and also some more stuff within the sim such as ASN, GSX etc. Then Myron returns briefly to look back at the Program and what we've learned, plus what we have up our sleeve for the Cadet+ in episode 24. Cade…

Streaming for the 777 cadet program is not working as of two days ago. I log in as normal, go to play a video. Streaming starts but no controls (pause, skip ahead, etc) and no audio. All of the videos start but it's video only and no controls. I'm getting the same result on different computers (Mac and Windows) and different browsers. Thanks for any help!

Chaps, you may have noticed I've been a bit absent around these parts for a while. Many of probably feel you know me quite well as the voice behind our training programs. So as we’ve possibly already made a more personal connection than with your average dev, it’s time for me to share this with you. The story is quite simple. A few months ago - on my wedding anniversary to be precise - I returned home unannounced from working away with a surprise anniversary gift for my wife. Unfortunately the surprise turned out to be on me as my wife was in middle of betraying those same wedding vows with another bloke. I’ll spare you the rest, but needless to say it h…

Can someone remind me how I access the module for v speeds, when i'm in the cockpit. Is there a hot spot or key I can click? Haven't used it in a while, totally slipped out of my old brain. Cheers,

  18. I have 2 questions. Maybe someone can help me: -> On the Takeoff Performance page there is a field called REDU. I guess it is for inserting data if doing a reduced power takeoff, but I have no idea in which format to do that. -> On the Landing Performance page the COND dropdown menue consists of the options DRY, WET, STDG WTR, CMPCT SNW. Dry and wet is clear and I guess CMPCT SNW means that there is a compact snowlayer on the runway and STDG WTR that there is water standing on the runway. Is that correct?

EDIT Never mind! Of course I found it on this very forum after posting my question.... I was wondering if I could download the checklists somewhere that are used and shown in the video's. Apparently you have them so sharing them seems like a possibility?

Hi. Aurasim Website for the Q400 v-speed calculation suddendly doesn't work anymore. The URLs "www.aurasim.com" as well as "app.aurasim.com" trigger the message: "Account suspended. This account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information." What is the problem, and how fast will you be able to fix it?

  22. Started by Airline2Sim,

***EDIT - it’s now back online*** Apologies but the Aurasim site is currently offline. Tomorrow I’ll look into the issue. Please bear with me until then and sorry for the inconvenience.

Ben, when will we see the second set of 777 vids and the PMDG 747 vids. My money is waiting to be spent.

After making the appropriate entries for either takeoff or landing performance and selecting Calculate, one of the results in the area at the bottom is "Margin", a number with units in meters. What does this number represent? Thanks

  25. Started by CajunRon,

I noticed in the HONOLULU TO KAHULUI PART ONE section that they applied the parking brakes and removed the wheel chocks while all 8 of the hydraulic pumps were showing "FAULT" (I assume all of them are off at this point). (This is at 1:03:00 on the tape counter) Is this correct? I would have thought that the hydraulic pump supplying the brakes would have to be on and then the brakes applied before pulling the chocks.
