  1. Hi! I was just about to complete a trip from Helsinki Vantaa to Oslo Gardemoen (both aerosoft airports) in the NGX. It crashed on approach. How funny. I never gotten a OOM error on this flight before, even with heavy clouds and scenery, and by using the DX 10 fixer as well. I have never actually measured VAS during flights cause I can hear FSUIPC alarm whenever Im short on VAS. When FSX was about to crash, I opened task manager where FSX.exe was located on top with 3200K of memory. I thought 4k was the maximum VAS fsx could use, or am I completely off ground here? Im very familiar with OOMs in this 32-bit rubbish game and I have taken evasive actions do avoid it, …

Hi guys, I have the RealityXP GNS530 gauge running on an Emuteq GNS530 panel This -> http://www.emuteq.com/GNS530.html Everything works just fine under DX9, I can undock the 530 gauge and slide it over the the Emuteq display unit and FSX is perfectly happy. However, with DX10 enabled as soon as I click 'undock window' option on the GNS530 popup gauge FSX will crash, also if I save a flight with the gauge already undocked in DX9 mode then change to DX10 the sim will crash as soon as the flight loads.     Just a quick question. I installed the 2.7 ok, now when I want to use FSX steam I uninstall the library and then point to FSX_se folder and if I want to go back to FSX classic just do the reverse? is this the proper procedure? thanks

  4. I have to admit, I have never really understood the best way to setup Steve's DX10 Fixer despite having read the manual when it first came out. With the release of version 2.6, I took the time to go through the manual step by step and setup Nvidia Inspector, FSX and the Fixer to best suit my current sim setup (i.e. the addons I have like Orbx, etc.). First of all I realized that my NI settings, which were up to date based on the latest "How To" document that I downloaded from the DX10 subforum at SimOuthouse, was quite different to the recommendations from Steve. HP Pavilion g4-2064la Intel Core i3 @ 2,3GHz 4Gb RAM Intel HD Graphics 3000 (integrated) ATI Radeon HD 7670M (dedicated) - Switchable graphics FSX with SP1 and SP2 I've forever used FSX in DX9 mode, but recently wanted to try DX10 and see how it works. Even though the FPS have never been so good in my computer and I have applied the fixes, antialiasing is terribly bad. I have already applied the MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 in the fsx.CFG [GRAPHICS] section and the "Use application settings" in RadeonPro's AA options (I also selected Multisampling (Box)). Release Notes for v2.7 This is identical to 2.6 except that it can now better handle the scenario where FSX Steam Edition (SE) and FSX are installed on the same computer at the same time. With 2.7 the libraries can be switched from one system to another and the correct FSX configuration file is used. when I tried to install libraries to FSX-SE the (change) path button is grayed out after I installed it to FSX-MS, does that mean I can't install libraries to both simulations at the same time?

    Not sure if is DX10 related problem but would like to ask some if there is a fix for it. When I am in flight in the VC and the sun is straight ahead it looks perfectly fine but when I start turning/banking and the sun start moving towards the side windows the halo moves faster the sun itself to a point where they are two complete images, one for the sun and the other for the halo. only when start turning to the sun the two images combine again. It only does when in full screen mode as I have triple displays set up, when in window all fine. Could anyone give some light on this issue? thanks

    I just got a new computer for FSX, I7 4790K, 8GB of Ram and NVIDIA 970 GPU. If I plan on running FSX, should I get the DX-10 fix, is there any fall outs or cuase of more CTD while using this? Sorry brand new to this topic, thanks! Edit- I might go to P3D if that is a better option than sticking with FSX.

    Hi all; When updating my nVidia driver I came across a blurb that said that the MFAA is for DX10 and DX11. Seeing as how I run FSX in DX10 mode, my question is what would be the benefit of using this new mode? Does it work in FSX? What should my inspector settings look like with MFAA enabled? I'm guessing that if MFAA works for FSX in DX10, that I may be able to eliminate other settings for, fingers crossed, better performance. Any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    I know the Beaver isn't 'equipped' with cockpit shadows as standard but, unless that was my last marble going down the drain, I swear that V2.5 of the Fixer provided them. I was so delighted by this I made a post in the Aerosoft forum saying that there's no rush to get Beaver Extended out of the door! Now here's the thing. I've just reinstalled W7/FSX onto an SSD and of course Fixer V2.6 was a front runner. LSS, the Beaver's shadows have gone! I've been on the Toolbox route and as expected, 'Cannot find SMAP section'. Is it me, or did something change?

    Hi I am useing win7 64bit and my grafics are set for DX11 by windows . I would realy like to run Flight 1 Focker 70 / 100 Simulation aircraft in FSXSP2 but it clearly says , the FSX version is not compatible with the DX10 preview setting. as I do not have the Knowlage on these technicle sujects Would you please give me your responce. Could I run Flight 1 Focker on my PC with the help of installing Steve,s Fixer or should I wait to see if flight 1 comes out with a fix Best regards Rex

    I recently installed a SSD and it replaced my HDD with FSX on it. I changed the registry etc and can operate FSX. The problem is that no matter what I do I just cannot get Fullscreen any more. I use DX10 ( with DX10 fixer) and all was fine until I now play. I used to be in fullscreen with DX10. I have searched hi and low for any help but it just will not go into fullscreen. I have tried alt/enter, clicking on View in FSX but nothing. If I try alt/enter or View I just get the pause activated and no view change. It is driving me mad, especially as i did not have this problem before when playing FSX on the old HDD. Yes the view change works in DX9 but I cannot work out wh…

    I'm running the latest version of Steve's fixer. Do I return to DX9 when I'm installing a new aircraft or do I stay in DX10? In past installs, I've been switching back to DX9, and then to DX10 after I install an aircraft. Thanks

  16. It's just strange to me because my laptop does FAR better in fps and in the looks department when using DX10. I am lucky to get 12 fps, and 15 fps is just fine to me, easily enough for me to enjoy the game. In DX10 I can get close, hovering around 14-15. Yet, when I search the library here and other places, I find literally only 3 or 4 aircraft that have been tested and working with DX 10 preview. I download posky and others stuff, but most simply show up gray and some won't show upon the runway, or only parts of them, yet the original fsx aircraft all work fine. Anyone know where I might find more aircraft that will work in DX10, or a free DX10 fix? I see Steve'…

    Hey folks, recently i purchased Shockwave Redux lights and added them to my AI aircrafts. Now i was wondering about strange behaviour: -The lights are displayed correctly when AI planes and own aircraft are on the ground. -The lights are displayed correctly when AI planes are airborne and my own aircraft is on the ground.     Hi, Is anyone using successfully the Playclaw capture software ? On my side it fails to engage when using DX10, I was wondering what could be preventing it to work. Is there any option to tweak ? Bloom, or whatever post processing shader option to disable ? Anyone capturing successfully ? (PS : Playclaw support itself is of no use)

  19. I didn't have any trouble before reinstalling FSX and using Steve's newest download. I am getting a black prop with the Carenado V35B. Is there a setting in the DXFixer that I am missing. This is the only plane that I have installed where it's happening. Thanks, John

    I've tried renaming bmp and fx file related to this airport, no luck, black squares on light poles are still there. Effects converting in the fixer didn't changed anything. Tried disabling some bgl files in aerosoft zurich/scenery, no luck. Is there a cure for this after all? I mean, renaming bmp and fx files should help, I was quite surprised it didn't.

    In a post at this forum I quoted today I noticed the author mentioned that simply ticking the DX10 compatibility mode in FSX SE works "out of the box". Can any of you confirm that indeed FSX SE has the DX10 compatibility issues "solved" ? I own Steve's wonderful Fixer, but having uninstalled FSX long ago I am no longer using it. Might consider installing it back and running it with FSX SE, but if simply "ticking" in the Graphics Options now does the job in FSX SE, I will stick to it ?

  22. I'm on a new adventure with FSX Steam Edition. Here DX10 works as well as it ever can "out of the box", however the time came to install the DX10 scenery fixer that had worked very well for me with regular FSX. All went well during installation, but the first time I started FSX_SE after going through all the options in the fixer I had a black screen where the selected aircraft should be in the free flight dialogue. If I went on to fly, I'd get a mostly black screen with some very dark clouds. If I uninstall the libraries, normal service (in FSX-SE) is restored. Is there something I've overlooked somewhere?   24. I recently bought Drzewiecki's KJFK (only $12.99, too good of a deal to pass up) and noticed that the textures for runway 31L were covered up. You can see the textures, however they're under a layer of gray. This isn't the case with any other runways, and the scenery seems to otherwise be fully functional with DX10. I tried tweaking the Legacy slider all the way towards 'scenery' to no avail. Their other scenery I own, KLGA, looks fantastic and has no visible issues. Any ideas?

    Hi Steve, I'm really thankful for all the rain fixes that you've made for FSX- but there was something I liked about the old rain- it was more visible. For example, at night I'll sometimes land and hardly notice it's raining would it not be for the METAR string telling me. Is there a way to keep the rain effect the way it is- but somehow make it more reflective- or visible? (using the third party precipit-FX)
