Hi .... just downloaded DCS as after 8 years of FSX interested to see what a modern flightsim looks like(some might say 'daunting!'). For whatever reason in spite of having registered with the DCS forum i can't post so wonder if someone here can help me. Problem is when i open DCS and set up a quick mission when the SU 25 loads the default view is out through the top of the canopy. Button 3 on my joystick defaults to 'View center' on the list of game commands and gives me a usable view out through the windshield at what is in front of the plane but has to be held otherwise its back to the view out through the top. Is there any way of getting a view along the lines of …

Why do they make things so sodding complicated? Just made the mistake of buying the boxed version of the P-51D, because I was lured in by the "free video". I already have DCS World installed, I did that a few days ago. Anyhow, I popped the disk in and the only options available are Play (which just fires up DCS World), Uninstall (which wants to uninstall DCS World), and Play Video. Nowhere is there the option of installing the plane. I've fired up DCS world to see if that will let me do it somehow. All I get linked to is Purchase Download Version. What the hell? I'm clearly not gonna buy it twice. I haven't got it once yet. I thought everything was supposed to …

I have no problem taking of in the guided takeoff training. But every time I try to do the same thing in the second mission where you are supposed to start and takeoff I always crash immediately on takeoff . I don't see why. The planes feels different here and I fail to keep it level just after takeoff. Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I mainly enjoy FSX, but also like historic warbirds. Last time I enjoyed same was in European Air War (if you remember that hoary title). How detailed is the actual FDE and systems simulation in DCS planes? Are we talking A2A Sumulations level of detail or quality? I'm generally not a fan of military planes in a civilian sim, but have always wished for an FSX level of actual simulation in this genre. Can those of you intimate with DCS help me with some honest assessment? Thanks! Steve
