Is there a smart way or work around to use ActiveSkyX/Graphics in Multiply? I posted the same question over at HiFi Simulation Software Support. It appears the problem is with Microsoft/FSX.Reason for question, I host with no problem(all is well with ActiveSkyX/Graphics) but my brother(he has ActiveSkyX/Graphics as well) can not join session. After process of elimination to include shut down firewalls, anti-virus, changing aircraft to default, he could join with his computer running ActiveSkyX/Graphics if I only run FSX with FSX weather. Two questions:1. If you don't have an aircraft/paint that the another person is using online, how does FSX choose a replacement? What parameters does it use to figure out what airplane that you have to use?2. Last night my cousin and I tried to host our own session and it took multiple attempts to connect to each other. I would host a session for just two people (I'm teaching him how to fly)and in the Connection level would always be in the red (-1). Why? I have a cable modem, shouldn't that be sufficient to host a session. My cousin has a cable connection as well. Our firewall's are all turned off. It was never this difficult in previous versions of FS.Once we get into the session why is it that you cannot change you aircraft without leaving the session? Why can't you access the map while in the session? Why are most of the menu options disabled while flying in the session? …

Hi Folks, I've recently started to use the Multiplayer option to enable me to be in the control tower to view AI aircraft. So far I've had CTD's each time after getting into the tower. I'm able to move around the tower for a short time but eventually I get either a ctd or screen freeze. I have SP1 and the latest Fsuipc installed.Thanks in advance,

I just had my first online experience on FSX with mic and I have to say that it was the most immersive realistic flight sim experience I have had, period. Absolutely incredible. In fact, the most realistic flying experience I have had since my last real world flight 10 years ago - I have a sadly lapsed PPL.I joined a session overhead London Gatwick. Has anyone got Cockpit Sharing working, and if so how did you manage it? I have had one attempt connecting with a friend on our own private Gamespy session, but we couldn't get it to work. basically nothing happened when we followed the instructions from the point of having 2 aircraft side by side and visible to each other.Peter

I have a problem which is incredibly annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced it, and had any suggestions for a fix.When playing FSX on multiplayer, I have the usual problems on getting in through Gamespy, particularly at weekend evenings. However, having got in at the nth attempt, and then attempting to join a session using real world weather, the connection completes to the session, and then attempts to download real-world weather. Most of the time - during the week, and during weekend days, this takes a couple of seconds max, and the session starts. I have been able to use Rob Barendregt's gauge (rcbgp-33.zip) in FSX's default Lear45 with no problems during freeflight. However, it does not work in multiplayer mode? I know alot of people hate those pesky DONT SINK warnings, but deleting those and only using the altitude callouts help me considerably.Is this an inherent problem with multi-player or is it an issue with porting this gauge to FSX?Is there a better guage to use with FSX, or am I out of luck???

I'm not sure this is the right forum for this, but hopefully you guys can at least point me in the right direction. I've been having a problem for a couple months now with sounds in the cockpit. I can still hear panel sounds, warnings, and even the air rushing against the fuselage, but I can no longer hear the engine sounds. This is in 2D mode when facing forward. These sounds are also missing in VC mode when facing forward but if I move the POV a little left or right I hear that respective engine. Does anyone know what is causing this? It is happening in all jet aircraft (except an occasionally flight where it works right!). My regular aircraft is the Wilco A3XX running…

Well I have been loving FSX multiplayer for the past few days. There always seem to be a wealth of servers available in the evenings when I have time to fly, and I can find servers that are as close to the real thing as you can get, or relaxed and full of uncontrolled strips with people "airport hopping" together. I do have one question. I have a great cable connection, with a 7 or 10 meg pipe, can't remember, and have great pings when in game with ZERO lag. When I host a game, my game is red - by that I mean the bar is red, not green and it says -1. It seems to me that MP is limited. I have just scrapped the surface, but if you want to do an IFR flight from point A to B, it seems to me that you are disconnected from the FS environment. What would be the best process?(1) Interact with the MP session for ground and departure. However, you get sparcy gamer interaction, not always, depending on who's controlling. I watched last night, and some youth pilots were making dive bomp approaches, etc. It was kind of a hodge-podge.(2) Once airborne, open an IFR flight plan and let FS ATC do the controlling, until close to your destination, then log back on to MP and hopefully get setup for the approach.Like VATSIM, coverage i…
