The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Here are some photos I took this afternoon. Started in Sierksdorf (EDXT), passed EDCW (Wismar), headed for my hometown Rostock and landed in nearby EDCX (Purkshof). Suddenly, the engine stopped. I had forgotten to switch on carb heat. Working again. Finally, a shot of the city center: The city is all freeware OSM and groundphotos. The position, shape and size of 90% of these buildings is incredible accurate. I could tell you exactly which house is what.

Hi all I am beginning a series of flights, exploring the south side of Alaska. Basically, from Juneau to Anchorage. No heavy metal here, no FMC, ILS... But a good old Porter, prepared flight routes, and a GPS. I try to favor small airports and better, muddy / sloppy strips. My first flight was from Juneau to Skagway. Expecting to admire the Juneau's ice fields glaciers. But I rather experienced bad weather. Lesson number 1 : I will have to adapt to the weather... Instead of magnificent glaciers, I was surrounded with threatening clouds, lashing and ice-cold rain. And 3/4 of my flight was at 10 000 feets, well above the clouds... As a compensation, …

In real life this is quite the surreal trip.. You leave Shelby after seeing 100s of miles of the flat plains and slowly watch as the mountain range gets close, and closer, and closer.. And almost instantly you go from boring open plains to being right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Entering in from the east About half way in Nearing the west exit West exit in the middle, and Whitefish in sight up to the right of it!

Had a very nice flight last night from Glasgow to Leeds ... was a little wet on arrival and I errr ... well ... I errr ... was overcome by the enjoyment of flying (or was it DX10 Fixer) that I had some brain fade (160mi cloud draw with FSGRW, LOD 9.5, 2048 textures). Downsized from 2560 x 1600 to 1080p (HD) Arrival at Leeds with Taxi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjFIswgFmH4 Morning departure Refreshments Traffic Cloudy! Arrival

Greetings folks, I often wonder how far we shall see FSX, or any other flight simulator for that matter, progress in terms of 'how close to reality can it be made to look'. We have all seen many fantastic addons to our flight sim over the many years ranging from aircraft to scenery, from texture enhancements to booster programs, from freeware to payware, that have made our sim experience feel more real and enjoyable. However, I am sure you will all agree with me that it is still a far cry away from looking real. Still, with hardware ever improving, software developers getting better and bolder, who knows what we might see within the next decade in a flight simulator. …
