September 27, 201312 yr Commercial Member Here are some photos I took this afternoon. Started in Sierksdorf (EDXT), passed EDCW (Wismar), headed for my hometown Rostock and landed in nearby EDCX (Purkshof). Suddenly, the engine stopped. I had forgotten to switch on carb heat. Working again. Finally, a shot of the city center: The city is all freeware OSM and groundphotos. The position, shape and size of 90% of these buildings is incredible accurate. I could tell you exactly which house is what. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
September 27, 201312 yr Could enlighten me about where I can find this scenery? B) Or is this Germany VFR? Where did you then get the OSM autogen? From OpenVFR? Andreas Paul
September 27, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Okay, first, this is X-Plane 10, combining the following freeware sceneries: Ground textures for the region, from simheaven.com and zonephoto.x-plane.fr OSM Europe (from simheaven, as of September 1st 2013) Europe Library (hosted at simheaven) Wismar (EDCW) airfield and town scenery Purkshof (EDCX) airfield The aircraft is freeware from xpfr.org, the livery of the aircraft is done by me and available here. I am no FSX expert, but I guess there are photo textures available, too. I also think that you can get OSM buildings; at least OSM2XP is capable of creating FSX output. But I guess the easiest way is indeed openVFR Autogen. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
September 28, 201312 yr I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of screen shots from X-Plane. Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules
September 28, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of screen shots from X-Plane. :-) X-Plane can look very good, especially with the combination photo textures + OSM autogen, because both line up perfectly with each other, and with X-Plane's default streets, railways and power lines. There's also a free plugin that adds real ship traffic all over the world. The installation is very easy, only the download times are high, due to the large files (medium resolution 1 GB per tile, large resolution 4 GB per tile). Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
September 29, 201312 yr Didn't know you did The aircraft's Livery,Great job. 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
September 29, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Didn't know you did The aircraft's Livery,Great job. Only this one. And it is based on an already existant one. I changed the colors, the registration number (on the fuselage, the wings, and in the cockpit) and the flag on the tail. In the cockpit I also changed the map which you can open, and I replaced the cover of one of the books to match an ADAC travel guide for the federal state. So the plane fits very well the region I am flying in Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
