In continuation of my tour up to Norway (Part 3 here), we take a flight from Copenhagen Rocksilde to Aalborg, Denmark. There are a few more clouds around this morning, but it should be a smooth and quick flight, leaving a few hours to explore Aalborg before heading over to Kristiansand in Norway. We're all set, and after a quick climb out, we make a turn towards the North West leaving the island of Zeeland and heading towards Jutland. Sssh, nobody noticed I went into a cloud on a VFR flight Despite the clouds, the view is spectacular as the sun rises and people wake up to begin their day. Our last glimpse of Zealand before heading over t…

Hey Guys, Grab your favorite freighter and help FedEx with the record package delivery crunch this holiday season! They have contracted many other freight companies to handle the Christmas load (within the flightsim world, not in real life as far as I know...but they DO rent U-haul trucks in real life...saw it in the news). Here is Steve helping out with an Evergreen 777F from KPHL to KLAX...DHL is lending a hand too...they have us all up and down the ramp Taxiing out past an airline that has merged into oblivion (but they still have this paint flying around until they can get them all repainted) Winds were brutal heading west.... Here is my nex…

In continuation of my tour up to Norway (Part 4 here), we take a flight from Aalborg, Denmark to Kristiansand, Norway Well, it's been a long day visiting Aalborg, but now it's time to continue into Norway. It looks like the weather has taken a turn for the worse, and it's overcast with a strong southernly wind (Which turns out in our favour). We're lined up and ready to go at Aalborg (EKYT). After take off we're hitting marginal VFR, so better keep below those clouds. We can still see the ground, so still good We leave the coast of Denmark and begin a 70nm journey over the water (Lucky I have two engines). About halfway, the weather seems to imp…

In continuation of my tour up to Norway (Part 2 here), we fly from Rønne over the southern coast of Sweden and into Copenhagen. It's a nice morning at Bornholm as we prepare for our next leg. We begin the climbout before turning around and heading over Rønne and out towards Sweden After a 20 minute flight over water we approach the southern coast of Sweden, which we willl continue along towards Malmo before crossing over to Denmark's most populous island Zeeland. This is the location of a very impressive bridge and tunnel between Sweden and Denmark. The bridge runs to the small artificial Island in the middle and the rest is a tunnel which run…

In continuation of my tour up to Norway Part 1, the next leg will take us up to Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic. After a short break in EPZG, we're off again and begin our climb out towards the coast This region of Poland is full of forests and lakes (It also happens to be where I live ;-)) Below us is the A2 motorway running from the border with Germany to Warsaw (and expensive as well). Down there is my house (It actually really is there in the right place ;-)). There are also a lot of nice lakes in the region, which are quite crowded in the summer months. There is a lot of empty space and forests, just how I like it :-) Finally…

This is a flight I wanted to do for the longest time. It takes a bit of careful planning, because the plane I had in mind is not what you think this Messerschmitt is all about. It’s not the beefy Bf109, it is the older civilian Bf108, which means that its Argus AS 10C engine gave us at around 1880 rpm some 200 hp. We have given our old lady the name “Elly” after Elly Beinhorn, who made some amazing trips around the world with this plane in the mid-1930s. Yesterday I finally did it. Gosh, it was fun. We take off from Friedrichshafen on the German side of the Bodensee, or as it is known otherwise: Lake Constance and plan to fly across Switzerland to Locarno, located…

Not complaining about 3.1 update! Just installed the latest client (after uninstalling the old client) and was curious to see what 3.1 looks like. Fired up the sim, choose the F86 Sabre at Eglin AFB with OpusFSX providing weather. (As always, click to see full size picture!) I opened full throttle and took off towards the ocean, enjoying the water! About 10 minutes in flight, I started doing some rolls, I believe in English they're called barrel rolls? Few seconds later, my engine quit. Miles away from land, 9.000ft up and I could not get her running again! I think it has something to do with the fuel injection, flying u…

I don't have 3.0 installed anymore so I can't compare. But with 3.1 it looks to me like the spinner, windshield, and body of the aircraft now have reflections maybe? I just never noticed this in 2.5 or 3.0.
