The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Leaving Redding, CA in the Mooney Ovation I headed south towards Charles Schulz Sonoma County. I planned on 7500' cruise but the weather was broken to overcast leaving Redding. I stayed low and once the clouds broke up I climbed to 9500 with a pretty decent ground speed averaging 180 kts. I used the Reality XP GTN 750 with some personal mods I've been working on (they don't work 100% yet but they work pretty well for me). The clouds and skies are default with some tiny HDR post tweaks. Approaching STS I had to divert more south easterly to avoid low hanging clouds over the mountain range. Around the eastern tip of Clear Lake I turned back SW, past Mt St Helena, and …

I thought this screenshot looked a bit dark & brooding, hence the title. In real life there are only a few airworthy examples of Curtiss Commandos. I need to fix the disappearing prop texture.

here's just some shots of stuff Im working on for fun. I'm getting a better handle on cloud lighting but there are still many aspects of XP that obviously require input/changes at places other than the sky textures or sunglow files. but its entertaining to mess with...

Sort of a small showcase of the XP G1000 beta release. It is a default avionics package in the Cessna 172 and Cirrus Jet. What I really like about these avionics is the ability to update the navdata as it is tied to default database. The displays are also very very clear, even at further distances. It's by no means a fully featured G1000 (not as good as Flight1 king air in P3D for example), but for default package I was able to navigate from PSP to ONT with the GPS guiding the avionics. Routing was KPSP CATH1 PSP V388 PDZ KONT. I wasn't able to input airways but I think I read there is a way or the feature is coming. So here's some night shots of some different pag…

Urban night flying in XP11 can not be beat by any other sim. It's amazing. Especially look at shot #2 (the shot is small I'll admit to that - the forum doesn't seem to allow me to post larger shots they always downsize and get blurry). I'm inbound for Santa Monica SMO - like real life the airport is difficult to spot from a distance. Usually when flying real world you'd look for a small black hole in a sea of lights. LAX is a bit easier to pick out to the SW. Anyway I hand flew this flight IFR on Pilot Edge from ONT to SMO. At 6000 ft (cruise alt) I was in and out of the bottoms and it was pretty tricky to fly IMC. Anyway here's just a few shots that I like. …

I can remember how very thrilled I was when I discovered the Flight1 GTN 750. The GTN 750 is so versatile and useful, once I started using it, I didn’t ever want to fly a GA aircraft without it. Then XP11 came along, and I kept thinking how much I yearned for a decent GA aircraft in XP11, one that was equipped with a fully integrated GTN 750. Reality XP had already released their GTN 750 for XP10 and XP11, yet for some reason no X-Plane developers were integrating the GTN 750 into their aircraft. Yes, most X-Plane developers seem to have dropped the ball on this - hey Carenado will you please wake up and integrate the GTN 750 into your fabulous B200, C208B and C…
