The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

New Mexico is not often thought of as farmland, but near the Texas border it is. I love looking at the circles that one sees in farmland in this part of the US. John

Enjoying a nice flight in what was once said the busiest air corridor in the world. Love the Carenado's 550 speed hold which uses pitch instead of throttle to maintain climb speed. This allows for fast time to climb while maintaining a decent groundspeed. John

Hey guys, Back from a trip and had a little time to work on the AA MD....Here are 2 glam shots....more detail is being added and she should be a very detailed and accurate paint when I get her done. Some of the added details are I've matched the metal color on the cockpit frame, adjusted the size of the OneWorld logo, finalized the door details (exactly like the real plane), fixed the AOA vane (no red circle), little yellow dot size and position adjusted. Also added placards by the cargo doors that are from the actual aircraft and finalized the passenger window frames (that was a job I tell ya!) No ETA but she gets closer with every…

Capturing a bit of two flights. One flying over Mt. Shasta headed south, and the rest out of Reno Nevada, over Tahoe and the Sierras, then one of Lake Folsom outside of Sacramento. My Reno flight took me to Napa, had a nice touchdown there, the Cirrus does great, slow finals and performs soft, greaser landings. As usual I saved the Reno to Napa replay so I can enjoy the flight again hands off. John

Here is the next detail I'm adding to the AA paint. Sadly the lightning strips are baked into the 3d model so I can't remove the misaligned shadows (moving the strips to the shadows is the only option and its a delicate piece of painting requiring a lot of work/time). Anyway, it looks pretty good from a normal viewing distance so I'll see what my testers think of leaving it in the paint. Or I may tone it down....a LOT of work goes into loading the textures in P3d and rotating the view around the plane at all angles and changing the lighting via time of day to ensure I get the best average look for all the details I'm adding. This involves sometimes actually rem…

This flight provided my first approach ever to the infamous Rwy 28 at St Bart’s .Gustaf III airport (TFFJ). The only approaches there are visual approaches. Of interest about St Barts is all the attention given to landing on Rwy 28. Caribbean trade winds flow with the seasons and almost as many landings occur in the opposite direction, on Rwy 10. During this Caribbean Trek the surface winds have all been from the east. Thus all my landings have been to the east. But I decided I just had to try landing on St Bart’s 28… Turns out St Bart’s Rwy 10 is just as challenging for different reasons. Interesting read in this link is the Tradewind Aviation service policy pe…

You will see a great view of Crater Lake, Mt. Lassen, the Trinity Alps, Lake Shasta, Lake Berryessa, and Napa's reservoir lake Hennesy. The golf course is Silverado Country club, sadly effected by Napa's fire last year when several hundred homes were lost in the eastern and western hills. The fire was caused by high winds causing power lines to arc. I experienced the similar 1981 arson fires when the temps soared over 100 degrees and high winds. Again the fire burned to Silverado but fortunately air drops limited the home loss to 60 homes. The fire burned within to four miles of my house and I had to hose our roof down due to hot embers falling. Our entire neighborh…

HI all Well, my first screenshot post. I'm still trying to get back into flying (time wise, setting up routine etc) but this was a short hop from EHAM to EHGG Well well. Some dark clouds are coming, typical Netherlands Oh, wait, what, there they are already... Hurry hurry. I love the drama in this shot Lining up 09. Advancing to 40%...focus..... oh, hey, look, the textures here really look like the old runway > DONT GET DISTRACTED PILOT! hmm, not sure about the clouds behind me. what do you guys think? Anyway, off we go.. Forgot to do the after takeoff checklist.. as always FL150.. oohh, …

Today after almost three weeks as contributors to the hurricane Irma relief effort in Puerto Rico, we get back to recreation as we make a much earned trip to the Dutch island country of Sint Maarten, one of two countries on the Island of Saint Maarten in the leeward islands east of Puerto Rico. Saint Maarten island was also badly hurt by Irma and we picked it for one of our winter vacation stops to help build back its critically important tourist trade. We plan some sightseeing as part of this flight, so we will cross the mountains to the north of Ponce and fly over San Juan. Then our flight will continue along the north coast of Puerto Rico and out ov…

Normally, cylinder head temperatures, spark plug fouling, torque, carburetor icing, vapor lock, superchargers and supertanker sized oil comsumption at speeds that send you right to sleep isn't much to get me excited. But sometimes, you just need a change of pace after reading an airline biography that mostly seems to deal with the formative and exciting years when aeronautical progress moved at the speed of every new exciting flying prop-driven contraption devised, financed and introduced into service. (Yes, books still work as a source for inspiration. Who'd have thought?) Anyway, why not take the evolutionary peak of those aeronautical dinosaurs for a spin and th…

It's a strange coincidence, during my world tour I arrived in Holy Russia yesterday, election day. A rather short flight: less than 580 nm, I already did 2x more in one flight. Not being restricted by the fuel, I just tried to beat speed records. At the departure (PASY), bad weather, 3°C, but already 20 knots of tailwind Above the clouds at FL120 climbing to FL200. Love the way ASP4 renders a plain, soft cloud blanket Somewhere above the Bering Sea, I officially fly over Russian territorial waters Ground speed of 335-340 kts, helped by quite strong tailwinds The view is impressive while approcahing the TOD. I will circ…
