Forum for the Virtual Airlines section of the AVSIM website. General discussions related to Virtual Airlines.

I have seen in lots of VAs things like:1. A fleet of a certain quantity of specific aircrafts, with N-numbers, age, etc. My question: is there some rule VAs adhere in offering their planes, or is it totally occasional ? Why do some companies make x planes available ? Why note 2x or 3x? Is there any limitation against several pilots flying an infinite numbers od flights with the very same aircraft at the same moment ?2. A company says that part of fleet is theirs (patrimony) whilst other is leased. In resume: can anyone say where I can find material for orientation about rules governing virtual airlines, in case they exist any how ?Thanks in advance.

  2. Atlantic International Virtual (AIV), is a non-profit volunteer hobby organization for simulation pilots, an environment in which the individuals can experience, learn, and have fun while conducting basic and advanced piloting skills using flight simulator software. AIV prefers not to call itself a "virtual airline," but rather a virtual organization. While simulating real world operations in flight simulator is a goal, AIV wants to promote and teach all forms of aviation. AIV would like to be a learning tool, where flight simulator users can come to experience a new level of both real and virtual aviation.Click on the link for more informationhttp://pesagussimulations.ce…

Hi,Is there a service/game that will allow you to start/play a small VA, with automated cargo orders/missions that you can bid for and participate in ? Basically, I have been looking for a service to log in to that would allow me to bid for a "mission" ( ie. move this cargo from airport A to airport B with x days ) - this service would then keep track of my virtual expenses and income and allow me to "buy" better planes etc. I know there are single player games that will do just that, but I figured it would be more fun to do it in a multi-user environment where more players would compete for the same orders. I seem to remember a site that claimed they were working on t…

Hi All,I have a couple of weeks off so I am looking at doing more programming on a VA concept I thought up a while ago. There are MANY VAs out there imitating various real-world airlines so I want to do something different. It is more of a framework with one or two pre-defined VAs but the VAs seniority should be flight quality driven and based on events rather than selecting a flight from a pre-defined list all the time. I would also like it to be optional but preferred that event flights are recorded. I expect there wouldn't be lots of takers but there is probably no better way to learn! One of the tricks is working out how to do interesting event generation complete with …

    1. Global coverage.2. Flights of all types (international, domestic, regional, charter).3. Aircraft of all types (jetliners, turbo-prop, prop and GA...modern and classic).4. Offline or online flights accepted.5. Completely automated flight real time updating and reporting with FSACARS, Flightracker or VA specific ACARS. (no "manual" updating during flight). Does such a thing exist?

Are you a pilot looking for a quality, active virtual airline? Then stop by the VA Connection and find the airline that is right for you.The VA Connection only lists quality, active VAs. No free-hosted airlines. No "here one minute, gone the next". Most of the airlines listed have been around for many years and are icons in the VA world. Our advanced search engine will let you find the right airline for you. Search by sim version, region, flight types, aircraft, hubs and more.http://www.thevaconnection.tkhttp://209.177.54.107

Hello,I was wondering if there is a kind of virtual and **NEUTRAL** marketplace where VAs and private pilots can "compete" for shipments (auto-generated shipments or shipments submitted by kind of virtual industries). In a word: is there a sim equivalent of cargo-bid.com?Thanks,Chris

Hey guys,So I've been checking out this new organization, seems they've got more of the technical stuff going down right now; designing software and what-not, but I think it looks kinda promising. Not saying it's going to have anything on VATSIM but these guys at RealWorld ATC have some pretty interesting ideas. I don't think they're going to begin operations until January, but I occasionally jump onto their TeamSpeak server and speak to a few of the pilots, and they seem like a professional bunch. I'm just waiting to see what else they think up. I guess the organization of it all is to cater to the Virtual Airline pilot more so than the regular flight simulator pilot jus…

  24. I need a real world aviation website, like FlightAware.com, but that handles Worldwide flights. Flightaware can tell you, for example, every B727 flying and what airline (cargo or passenger), it's flight number and it's route. It can also tell you all flights airborne from/to a particular airport or all flights airborne by an airline. I need the same thing for the entire world as FlightAware is only North America. There are several I've tried which lack the options for searching mentioned above or only deal with passenger carriers. Anyone know of such a resource? Vic

Folks,I'm looking for a new VA. The only clause is that will it accept my previous hours of around 5500. Now you might say that I'm obsessed, but it's taken me 10 years of VA flying to accumulate these and I'm not prepared to let them go. I have proof that these are genuine and not made up.I'd appreciate some feed back of which is the best VA to go for. Thanks for your time
