I have a proposition for all new and old GMAX designers who are interested in learning moer about the program together. I am a beginning designer who would like to learn more about the pogram, and I'm sure there are many more people like me out there. Our design group would design an aicraft, and together we would learn and someday become some of the best freeware designers out there. So what I'm looking for is a few aspiring modelers, painters, webmasters, ect. to join and see what we can come up with. My email is [email protected]. please email me if you are interested.Paul Felz

Ok, managed to make a very simple PropStarter toggle, but the only problem is (just like the dreaded Baron 58), that I have to click it overn and over again very fast until it works. What do I need to do to be able to just hold the toggle down and have it fire up the engine? <Gauge Name="EngineStartProp 1" Version="1.0"> <Element> <Select> <Value>(A:General eng1 starter, bool)</Value> <Case Value="0"> <Image Name="switch_off.bmp" ImageSizes="32,32"/> </Case> <Case Value="1"> <Image Name="switch_on.bmp" ImageSizes="32,32"/> </Case> </Select> </Element> <Mouse> &l…

I wonder why no one seems to notice the fine wing tip contrails on the new FSD T-38 Talon? They are "dynamic", switched on and off by flight parameters. Really great, I've never seen this before in FS...Wouldn't it be nice to have this on all planes? :)ckfly

I'm just searching arround to see if anyone else on this forum likes programing in general... I have been working a lot with C#, but some of my ideas may be a bit too large for a one man development team to work on!!! Examples of projects are a database driven VA flight management system and a multitude of add-in modules... just a bunch of different things... anyway, if anyone wants to mess around with some stuff, drop me a line... Please can any experts help me....... Downloaded the excellent arrestor cables program by Richard Hogan and am flying one of Dino Cattano's FS2002 Tomcats. The plane is programmed with superspoilers - it just drops out of the sky when you hit the "/" key. Can anyone help me to modify this so that the spoilers work normally and I can lower the arrestor hook without fear of ditching before making the carrier ?ThanksDazzie:-beerchug

I am working on some vertical fuel quantity gauges, and I stuck when it comes to figuring out how the placement of the needle is figured out. Say my background image is 135 pixels high and 75 pixels wide. Full is at the top, Empty at the bottom, and there are incremental markings for 3/4 1/2 1/4. How do I figure out the placement of the needle for those markings? Do I plot it out in Paint shop pro, and transpose the reading into the gauge? I am stuck at this point. I have looked at the Baron fuel quantity gauge, it specifies the variable of rotate, and I figured out I need to use shift. But its the X Y coordinate stuff that is driving me bonkers. Thanks Dave

Just saw a recommendation from the "Screensavers" TV show about the use of "NoteTab" as a replacement text editor.. Just downloaded and tried out... VERY, VERY impressive. By using the favorites tab you can populate all your gauge projects and reference txt docs for easy access..Instant button to check XML in IE, Multiple txt docs open at the same time etc... Whats more is that there's a Library/Clipbook that has many usefull functions.. Programmable also.. Could be programmed to have things like empty code templates, librarys of A: & K: vars and so on.. http://www.fookes.com/notetab/index.htmlRegards,RomanProject 737-400

Greetings.Take a look at my post in the "MS Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum" titled "Current weather radar images".URL: http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID8/7329.html#0Is any one working on a gauge that will do what I proposed? Yes I have FlightMax and can get "kinda" similar data from FSMeteo now, but it does not interpulate between airports. All the weather is center around reporting stations and not the actual radar image. Follow? This looks like an exciting posibility for those who fly in the area covered by NOAA US NWS.We can't do it but we can help if you are interesed.Regard,Bob a.k.a. Well I made some analogue gauges til now, they work quite fine, although my altimeter gets unacurrate in higher altitudes. I don't know if it's the nonlinearity able or what... :-hmmm But I wanted to make a simple switch and I cannot get anything to work. FS crashes (it won't even start!) there's a very untypical error message when trying to start FS. It immediately shuts down as long as the gauge exists in the GAUGES directory. Then: I have the following warning message referring to the GAUGE_HEADER_FS700 line:GAUGE_HEADER_FS700(GAUGE_W, switch_gauge_name, &switch_list, switch_mouse_rect, switch_cb, 0, 0, 0);Warning W8075 test.switch.c 5: Suspicious pointer conversio…

I made the mistake of getting the 2k2 standard edition several months ago. Still, with Pro prices around the price of FSDS, now that I want to try my hand at A/C design, I could probably justify moving over to Pro to get GMAX (Just to pick up the Mooney, Baron and Kingair). What's the opinion of those on the forum? Is FSDS easier, or is GMAX? Does GMAX support part animation? With FSDS I have to purchase A/C animator, which increases the cost. I've also noted that many GMAX GA aircraft don't allow for viewing of external parts like wings, engines and tail surfaces from within the cockpit, unless static bitmaps are used. Is this something that is done by design, or do…

How can I convert lbs/ft2 to inHg? Because there's a token variable called RECIP_ENGINE1_MANIFOLD_PRESSURE but it's measured in lbs/ft2.My needle is currently rotating 15 times when advancing throttle from idle to full open. It's not the nonlinearity table, I'm rather sure.Thankshttp://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg
