Cacoman, BobAs promised... First Try at Panel Bitmap... It is rather sad looking, but am pleased with the general layout. If only I had some good quality "fit for purpose" bitmaps of a 732... ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/148967.jpgA few points of interest:- I did not add a partial overhead (light switches), since that would mean having to program them (bitmaps and all). It would be a nice addition if possible though...- It is not quite centered how I would actually like it, but may be a good compromise. What do you think?Next will be adjusting the gauges to fit...Regards,Macs :)

I'm building a program outside of flight simulator that emulates the ND features of the 737NG using FSUIPC as its interface point. I have almost all the data presented I need except for the computed position. The ND display is oriented in the Heading up or Track up modes. From the tip of the aircraft pointer extends a 3-dash line where the end of each line is at 30 seconds from the previous point, the tip being 90 seconds from the aircraft's present position. During a high-rate turn, it would form a semi-circle and in a high-enough turn, would show a circle. My question is how to compute the value of position. I know it would involve groundspeed and turn rates, but how …

THAT is the question!I want to make the entire aircraft (not just the wings) visible from my VC view (wing view).I am using ActiveCamera, and thus have the ability to slew my viewpoint all around the aircraft, from wingtip to wingtip (when using a wing view panel, of course). But it makes for a very unrealistic experience when the entire fuselage of the aircraft is missing from the view. You realize that all you are is a couple wings and engines racing through the clouds!I am assuming there's a visibility parameter somewhere in the panel.cfg or aircraft.cfg one can set to make this possible? Thanks in advance,SK

Any help would be appreciated:Situation:Simple case switch (Using L: Value) To Display/hide a gauge. I want to make the switch more of a 'toggle' to display SAT on 0 and OAT on 1 for example. Is it possible to have the line have logic that is 'if L:Variable = 0 then gauge is visible', I can seem to only get 'if:Lvariable = 1 then gauge is visible' kind of workings.Hope you understand :(thanks.

I have an FSDS2 airplane in which the gear extension and retraction times are long, in that the nose gear must fully retract before the main gear can retract, which splits up the 100 available keyframes into two sections of 50, basically. Those individual extension times are slow, at about 9 seconds each, so you have about 18 seconds of action. The result is a slightly jerky, stuttering extension and retraction. Does anyone know any way to smooth that out, eg. via update times in the xml gauge? Thanks,Mike

At sea level conversion from knots to mach is 1 mach = 659 knots. But how this conversion change with air density (altitude) or air pressure? What codes are used in FS9 autopilot to convert speed from knots to mach?

Do the digital engine displays read beyond 99.9% in Boeings or do they stop at 99.9% if the engine RPMs (N1 and N2) go higher?I'm modeling the primary EIS display for a 737-300 but I've never seen three digits displayed before the decimal in video clips. Doesn't seem to be much space for another digit but I may be wrong. The one in the FS9 737-400 isn't correct - it's missing the decimal point and 10ths digit.ThanksPaul

Hello,I would appreciate some help to get my dynamic mouse tooltip give me the frequency with the decimals for my radio COM1.Actually, I have a static variable and a callback calculating and returning the right frequency value.Arg_Get_Frequency, returns it. So I have declared the arguments array as followsstatic MOUSE_TOOLTIP_ARGS(com_freq_arg) MOUSE_TOOLTIP_ARG(MODULE_VAR_NONE, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, Arg_Get_Frequency, NULL, NULL) MOUSE_TOOLTIP_ARGS_ENDand made the mouse tooltip like hereafter :static MOUSE_BEGIN( mouse_rect, HELP_NONE, 0, 0 ) MOUSE_TOOLTIP_TEXT_STRING("Communications Radio COM1 - %1!d.! MHz",com_freq_arg) ...... MOUSE_ENDIn that case I get the intege…

Hello,Can someone explain me how the aileron deflection varies with the yoke movements? In fact, I noticed that when the stick is moved at around 50% if its course, the aileron deflection is only 32% and it is not linear.Do you know where this is defined?(it looks like it is the same for all the aircrafts)Thanks,Eric

This is giving me a headache. Instead of just having someone help with my code, I'd love it if someone could write a short paragraph explaining how if..else syntax works in XML. I've searched the forum and there are plenly of posts that give some examples, but nothing is exactly like what I'm doing so I'm hoping for some extra help and maybe some theory.I have good working code that tests one condition. How can I test two conditions? Here's what I have so far:(L:CockpitState, enum)What I'd like to do is display the image if CockpitState is "0" AND (L:Power, bool) is equal to 1.Should I try to incorporate this into an if{} statement? If so, what are the rules for synt…

Hi,I had to make a little gauge with GDI because it doesn't work on the "bitmap-way".No problem with the gauge, it works fine. But I've noticed something 'strange'.I can't get a GDI Gauge work if there is just 1 MAKE_STATIC used. It just works when I've got 2 MAKE_STATICs in the gauge. To get the pelement for the 2nd MAKE_STATIC, I wrote:PELEMENT_STATIC_IMAGE pelement = (PELEMENT_STATIC_IMAGE)(pgauge->elements_list[0]->next_element[0]); If there's just 1 MAKE_STATIC, shouldn't that just be enough?:PELEMENT_STATIC_IMAGE pelement = (PELEMENT_STATIC_IMAGE)(pgauge); Another question: What does the option "IMAGE_CREATE_DIBSECTION" in MAKE_STATIC mean?Th…

I've programmed a gauge that has several toggle switches that turn the various light buses on and off. The toggle switches for strobe, beacon, and nav lights work as intended, however, the toggle switches for the landing lights and the taxi lights don't. The landing lights and taxi lights are "stuck" in the on position. I've inserted a MAKE_STRING macro in my code to print out the values of LANDING_LIGHTS and TAXI_LIGHTS token variables. These variables will momentarily change to 0.0 when I "click" the switch, but they immediately change back to 1.0. This doesn't happen with my other light switches. What's going on? I looked in the aircraft.cfg file to see if there…

Hi,In my quest for more efficient code, with as goal better FPS, which code is faster? (Got a lot of them!!) (L:condition,number) 100 < if{ (L:failure 1,bool) ! if{ 1 (>L:failure 1,bool) } (L:failure 2,bool) ! if{ 1 (>L:failure 2,bool) } etc. } els{ (L:failure 1,bool) if{ 0 (>L:failure 1,bool) } (L:failure 2,bool) if{ 0 (>L:failure 2,bool) } etc. } or(L:condition,number) 100 < if{ 1 (>L:failure 1,bool) 1 (>L:failure 2,bool) etc. } els{ 0 (>L:failure 1,bool) 0 (>L:failure 2,bool) etc. } Jan"Beatus ille qui procul negotiis..."

Do some of you know how to read or calculate the N1 when the engines are on idle?On my twin-engine airliner, the idle N1 is around 27% on ground, and around 30-31% at high altitudes. I don't know if it also depends from the temperature.I need to know the exact value of the idle N1 value, so any info on this topic is greatly welcome. Thanks !!Eric

Who can tell me the difference:- between ENG RPM ANIMATION PERCENT and TURB ENG N1?- between AMBIENT PRESSURE and BAROMETER PRESSURE?(In these 2 cases, my tests showed these variables always have the same value, no difference...)- between TURN ENG N1 (or N2) and TURB ENG CORRECTED N1 (or N2)? What does the "correction" change? Thanks for any help !!Eric

Hi,Does anyone know why the trim runs away all the way to + or - 81 as soon as you press AP?I want to set runway heading before take off and activate AP and Heading. In all aircraft the trim runs away as soon as you press the AP button. Searching on the net gives me the idea that this is normal? in FS9.Does anyone recognise this and is there a cure?Yes! I started FS9 clean. Default Cesnna on Meigs!Roelof

Hey all, having a small problem on my model, the animations of my rotor shaft are animating backwards, i.e. when I push foward it moves them back, push left they go right etc.I've tried re-animating the dummys, they playback fine in max (max 8 BTW using panda to export) the thing is they've been working fine for 2-3 months now, only yesterday as I was texturing a part of the rotor have they been doing this, there are 4 dummys, 2 l_r and 2 fore_aft.I've tried to rename them (add a _0 at the end) just incase of a name share but no luck.Any ideas?Cheers
