I've been running into a problem with some panels that I've downloaded in that they appear "squashed". If I go to the menu and re-select the aircraft then they are in normal proportions. Is there a fix for this?I have FS Panel Studio but re-saving the panel has no effect :(Here's a couple of screen shots of what I mean.Any help on this is appreciated, it's too annoying to have to reload the plane to get the panel to look right. Thanks.http://members.shaw.ca/alky/squashed.jpghttp://members.shaw.ca/alky/squashed2.jpgGeorge "Alky

Hi all, first of all I have no experience in programing but today I managed to program/copy/paste a simple airspeed indicator in xml. What I didn't manage, even after reading many many threads and faq's here and reading lots of code of other gauges is to add some three speed bugs. I don't know why but it didn't work out. Could anyone of me help me on with this problem. I thought about defining a variable (G:var1) and add one knot to it everytime the user clicks on a clickspot on the gauge. thanks in advance andyP.S.: If someone needs the gauge as it is right now, just tell me

Hey everyone, I will sometimes go into a panel config on the more complex AC and in the VC section, change the pixel size values in all the sections that are 1024 to a value of 768. Is changing to 768 or even 640 doing more harm than good? 512 looks horrible, so I was looking for something in between. I wasn't sure if this can lead to CTD's or not? Thanks!

I'm having trouble getting my mind around this and could use some help. What I want to do is simulate water injection for an old military style jet using an XML gauge. I've tested the process using afterburner with a 10% boost and the results are about right. what I need to do now is limit this event to a one time only use for a max of 50 secs. I have searched the forum for timers, timed event etc. lookiing for help but what I've found hasn't been the right answer.

Hi there,I am a professional 3D programmer, but new to the flight simulation scene. At the moment, I am learning how to create vector gauges and have a question for experienced FS programmers:I want to create the vector gauges (only 2D) in OpenGL and display them on the given hdc by the STATIC_ELEMENT; or directly to the graphics card. This should be no problem, but I wonder if this will cause a very bad performance or any other problems. Shall I better use GDI+? Does Open GL offer any advantages to GDI+ (exept 3D capability)? What experiences did you make? Does it worth working more on this issue?Kind RegardsFrank

Hey gang,I am trying to do a part in my VC that brings up window01 (Shift/2) in the panel pop-up windows, which is the GPS on my particular panel. My question is, can a part actually bring up that window view, and how would you write the XML?I have an ATC call up XML script that works fine, but when adapting to GPS, I get nothing. Kind regards,Bill

Hello all!I would like to make one gauge (XML) that always limited "G" force in 1G. In any maneuver the airplane will have to remain in 1G. How would be the logic of this gauge? Thanks a lot!Ernest.

All,A forum search drew a blank while looking for an answer about how to scale and image in xml as can be done in C. I now understand that the imagesizes tag is actually used to refer to the different sizes of identical bitmaps that are for larger and smaller resolutions when two versions are used, so there seems to be nothing that will help there.I went to that DTD I made from 20,000 lines of combined code and this is what's listed in the image section:According to this, not one single image in any of the files I used to make the DTD had been scaled. I checked the Element tag to see if it was a case of scaling the parent of the image, but there's nothing there either.I'm…

The SDK says that ADF_NEEDLE returns a "16 bit pseudodegrees"...What I am seeing is the raw value return as a range from -584 to -225What is the correct "formula" for calculating and displaying the ADF Bearing relative to the a/c's current position.I've seen plenty of XML examples, but having a clue what the C equivalent to "dnor" is, so the XML examples are pretty useless.Note to self: Next time you're in Redmond, remember to slap whoever thought "16 bit pseudodegrees" was a "good idea" silly!

Before you say it, I *have* gone over the SDK's, the Alpha tute from Engauged and I've been living and breathing sd2gau17.zip for about four days now. I do read the manuals when I can find them! It's just an oddball issue. The working process:I use a greyscale gradient on a 45 degree angle for my alpha image.Import that image into the new alpha channel of my main image bmp in DXT bmp to make a 32b extended bmp.Port the whole thing over into Imagetool to re-format as an 8b bmp.In the sim, for *this* test, all is fine. Pure black is totally transparent and there is a nice gradient of opacity all the way across until the opposite corner is at 100% Alpha. At that point, I'm th…

I'm already getting feedback regarding a pdf file on gauge alpha images that I uploaded to the FS2004 misc files ( I got your e-mail Matt, glad you liked it ). However, I'll be revising it as soon as I fully understand the reasons behind some of the reactions I'm getting in my own gauge when I try to apply that info.I took it to the next logical step and ran the same tests on solid blue, green and red backgrounds. Those tests indicate that the odd results found with a white base and 50% alpha were entirely due to a reaction with red in the background, and red alone. I did not get the odd vertical stripe with blue or green but with red it ran all the way down to the diagon…

I have AircraftAirfileManager (AAM) version 1.0 and the associated users manual. The manual refers to a "Scrolling Bar" (even shows a picture of it) that is supposed to be used for scaling graphs (2D and 3D profiles) which will allow the editing of the fine points in these types of graphs. My version of AAM has no such "scaling bar". I am unable to mouse select the very fine points in the graphs that AAM now gives me and so unable to edit these points directly. I suppose that I could edit all the points around the "unselectable" point I want first and then go back and get the points that are isolated by this moving of everything else. I would like to do it the easy way if…
