I created a new method to set a realistic haze in XP12
I did the same and increased to max 900. I also switch it over to manual on descent so it doesn't happen during landing...it seems to hold whatever whatever values were there in Live...

I created a new method to set a realistic haze in XP12
Wow..this is cool! It just so happens I stumbled across this right before a flight in XP 12 which I have not done in a couple months. I was able to get the API for VisualCrossing but I was unable to get the one for OWM like Baber20 mentioned. I tried it out on a short 1 hour flight and it works well. I do notice that I get a fairly long pause in the sim when the Live option updates, about 7-8 seconds long. I switched it back to Manual which held the same values. I wonder if there is a way to adjust the time between updates maybe to lengthen out the pauses unless it is not supposed to do that...? Nice job! On another note, the clouds and lighting were just incredible...I am always amazed when I come back into XP12 for a some flights....

Work around for Nvidia app filters
Also interested in how you were able to use these, I do miss the Nvidia filters and would love to ditch ReShade...

MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
Yup...they really seem to think weather is perfectly fine in the sim since you can fully adjust how clouds look in 'Preset' mode. Live WX is good enough in their mind it seems. After being asked about the Thunderstorm depiction (lack thereof) and after a moment of 'crickets' from Seb, he brushed it off and talked about how good the turbulence model is. He also said Thunderstorms are fine in 'Preset' mode. I don't think we will see much weather/cloud improvement in Live WX for a long time if ever as nobody is acknowledging there's even a problem or the fact it needs to be improved. Looks like we are stuck with tiny cottonball clouds at FL 350 for the foreseeable future in Live WX mode!🫤

MSFS 2024 Rythmic Stutter Every Second
I have noticed this on my past few flights but only after landing at destination. I do not get it on departure or in-flight. I have that same consistent stutter every couple seconds. It happens even with all 3rd party apps off (PSXT, ASFS, etc) and TLOD down as low as 50. It also happened at a mid-size default airport outside of PG area. This is on SU5 Beta in the FSW Lear 35....

Recommendation request :-) What jetliner should I...
Was just going to post the same suggestion. Although I have not flown it in a while, the A-300 is a well-done aircraft. I can second the FSW Lear 35 as well although it may not be what OP is looking for. All this talk of classic airliners and I just treated myself (finally) to the JF RJ Pro. Have always sort of wanted it but never pulled the trigger. After figuring out the Lear, I now have another one to learn...

Sim Update 5 Beta - 1.7.17.0
Yup..I have it as well. It's one of the assistance features that seems to be broken and stuck 'on'....

This is finally fixed for SU5...

My Setup and Performance
As others have mentioned, ditch the 50fps. Keep your monitor at 60hz, cap your frames at 30 and try the in-sim FSR 2x Frame Gen (pretty sure it works with 3080ti). I have been happy with this setup and also use AutoFps to help on the ground to help reduce the panning stutters.

Do you have photogrammetry enabled or disabled in MSFS 2024?
I am just finishing up a regional airport for 2024 that is in a PG area. There is an industrial complex adjacent to the airport and the PG looks pretty lousy when on the ground so I decided to exclude the PG in that entire area and just custom build all of the warehouse and business buildings. Even with PG turned off, the AI buildings looked bad as well so in my case, the only solution was to rebuild that entire area. So regardless of user having PG on or off, that entire area will look very good.

MSFS 2024: Sim Update 5 Beta (1.7.6.0) Out
Wow...really? I have the opposite issue which is the infinite visibility at all times in Live weather outside of snow/rain situations. The only time I have noticed this strange haze is in some of the presets, especially looking towards the sun but I rarely use them.

Some buildings with fog appear crisp
It's the way the glass material is done on the model. What airport is this? I have noticed the behavior on several Ini Airports. It could also be the Environment Occluder that is used for interiors to prevent the rain and snow from showing up inside. They also tend to show these black areas when there is volumetric fog present at least in MSFS 2024...

Better night flying
There is an LOD bug with exclusion polygons in MSFS 2024 so the lights will pop in and out around you....hopefully fixed in SU5 whenever that is announced....

"MSFS DarkStreets" - Looking for testers!
Will be trying this out! I only have 2024 installed now though. It's ridiculous how they placed these generic lights in every corner of the planet it seems. Hope they can address this in SU5. Are you using polygons with exclusions or an exclusion rectangle? I am wondering if both have the same bug....??

3rd party AI traffic programs?
Are you able to get the 2024 version of the JF program you have? I know they made it compatible about 6 months ago. Another option would be to use FSLTL, it's free and has a nice installer. I use PSXT (payware version) which tracks real flights, has the correct aircraft at gates, etc but you still need to have base models installed (ie FSLTL, JF, AIG).

REX Atmos for 2024 released on December 29th.
I get a lot of cloud flashing on occasion when using Atmos. I have been using it since SU4 Beta release came out and it seems shader related to me. It usually lasts for 10-15 seconds and if I shut off Atmos while it is happening it stops. I posted on the Discord but maybe I am the only one with the issue. It happens with any of the presets I have used and one that I created. It is pretty random and doesn't happen on every flight. Not sure if there is one particular setting that causes the problem or not...

Returning to FS after a long break - AI traffic suggestions
I'll second PSXT...it is used with any models you have installed (ie FSLTL, AIG, JF Traffic) It tracks real-time movements so aircraft are at the correct gates, etc. If you own Beyond ATC, their AI traffic is also pretty good, there were times I was using it just for the traffic. I have tried/used all of them over the past few years and I have been the happiest with PSXT......

FSDT ORD in SU4
It definitely works for me and I was using throughout the SU4 beta. Not too sure what might be causing that...

What is the most recent (SP4) MSFS2024 setting guide?
Yes, I have this same issue and have been for quite a while even before SU4. It seems related to TLOD. If I use AutoFPS to limit TLOD on the ground, the problem goes away for the most part...

SayIntentions, 20:00z, Dec 11th - A complete mess
Welcome to Avsim Brian! Let me understand this, you would like Avsim to moderate and get rid of any negative opinions of your product (which does in fact have many flaws and issues)? I think it is perfectly OK for paying customers to talk about product issues (especially a product that costs over $200 annually) outside of a Discord where any posts that are not "liked" can easily be deleted out of existence. Speaking of "issues and solutions", many "issues" from long ago (12-18 months) that were touted as fixed at the time are still not fixed....

Is MSFS setting a new graphical standard for custom airports
Yeah, a native 2024 airport should be much better performance-wise since the 2024 SDK now forces the Devs to do proper LOD's. You did not have to do that in 2020 although most good devs should have used LOD's to some extent.
