  1. If you mean the mouse freelook and joystick analog stick freelook conflicting (meaning only the analog stick works and mouse freelook doesn't), you can put in a very small deadzone into the analog stick sensitivity, this will make both options work at the same time.
  2. Do you have the "modern" click-to-lock cockpit selection system active in 2024? Try holding your left mouse button down while over the center knob and then right clicking, I think this is how it works now.
  3. Heavy drops in framerate like this are almost certainly not caused by streaming but by your VRAM running out. To confirm, check with the developer mode FPS display and then lower texture resolution, LOD or other things that heavily affect VRAM usage.
  4. This is something I will never understand, especially with MS Flight Simulator. We are all adults here, nobody is forced to buy a product right on day one (or even preorder it) especially knowing the state that MSFS 2020 was in at launch (which was considerably worse than 2024, I would argue). There was zero incentive to preorder MSFS 2024, it was entirely possible to wait until a few days after launch and then make an informed decision whether the sim in its current state would be fun to use or not. Sure, one can always make an argument about the practices of the gaming industry throwing unfinished products on the market and then taking a year to get them into an acceptable state, but that's not exclusive to MSFS, and frankly should be expected at this point when making the decision to buy a particular game.
  5. Just like they did with 2020. The only thing that's changed is that downloading is optional, not mandatory.
  6. I recently saw Alaska Airlines in some regional airport in Germany. 😅
  7. No problems with internal lights on the 152 and both the G1000 and steam-gauge 172 here. Also, I just did an ILS approach on the 172 into St. Gallen, so, not sure what kind of problems you might have there.
  8. I had similar issues and they seem to be conncected to VRAM running out, leading to massive FPS drops/stuttering. You can check your FPS and what affects it ingame with the developer options/debug menu. If you play in 4K on an 8GB GPU, that simply won't be enough for certain higher graphics settings because VRAM will run out. Try lowering texture resolution, LOD, cloud/trees/water settings or any combination of those, that mostly solved it for me.
  9. You might want to check your VRAM utilisation. It seems to be one of the most widespread cause for stutters in 2024.
  10. Thanks for the first impressions, sounds promising at least! Can anyone who is already flying comment on the sea traffic (ships, boats) they're seeing? One of the issues in the Alpha was that every ship model defaulted to a cruise ship, and these were clogging up the waterways. I'd like to know if they managed to put in the additional ship models in the release version. Thanks!
  11. No, he's not. There is a reason why Microsoft flew a bunch of Influencers to the Grand Canyon and why Streamers often get Alpha or Beta access earlier while grumpy people on AvSim do not.
  12. I haven't preordered anything, as there's no real incentive to do so (good for Asobo to not give in to any shady preorder-bonus BS). I'll wait for a few first reviews or reports on performance, server stability or any serious issues and then buy it if things look stable enough.
  13. I still remember watching the live stream of the event (I was actually checking to see if there was some new Starfield demo) and being completely confused about the MSFS teaser because it came totally out of the blue. As far as I remember, there was absolutely no rumours about Microsoft bringing back the franchise back then.
  14. Same as always, getting the default non-G1000 Cessna 172 and fly around my hometown, check out my house, then my girlfriends house and then probably make a tour of some vacation spots I've been to this year.
  15. Boomer simmers will never forgive Asobo for bringing back MS Flight Simulator. 😁 Ah, so nice to pop back into AvSim and see that things still haven't changed and people are still having the same discussions they had in 2019. 😅
  16. Yes, it definitely depends on the time of day. Some areas don't have any shipping during nighttime, I found.
  17. It's there! http://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/16/412446890550990408/
  18. I had the same problems during engine startup with the parking brake engaged. If you go through the checklist, it says "apply maximum brake pressure" during engine startup, which I did by simply pressing the "normal" brakes, and it keeps the plane stationary. I have no idea if this behavior is realistic, though.
