447mph GS in my TBM 850 (within limits!)

Featured Replies

I had a nice tailwind tonight, flying from Inverness in the highlands of Scotland, to Teeside Airport in North East England.

Once in '850 mode' the TBM just opened up and soon TAS had passed 300kts!

In descent I reached my peak ground speed - 385 kts, which equates to 447mph .... in a small, single-engined turboprop!

Wow…385 knots…with the strong tailwind…

The TBM 850 Turboprop is indeed a (jet-like) powerful aircraft…

Yes its an awesome small turbo prop - there are times when the jetstream of approx 100-120kts across southern Australia gives even greater ground speed when heading east!  Not so much fun when heading west, of course!!

You've gone plaid!

One of my favorite addons ever!

The only thing that would make it better is to have dual 750Xi's hehe
