PMDG 777 Updates via Operations Center:
A few moments ago we pushed the first in a series of updates for the 777 that are primarily focused on stabilizing the LOD changes/breakages wrought by MSFS SU3.

We had been watching the various changes being made to the LOD system in MSFS as SU3 was being tested, and they were nearly continually broken, so we opted to wait until SU3 was finalized so that we could accurately assess the state of play and adapt the airplane accordingly. Those changes are working their way through testing now, and we hope to have them all out to you by the weekend, starting with these updates today.

IMPORTANT NOTE: there is a bit of divergence with the build numbers, as we are not updating 777s that don't need updating, and while we have traditionally tried to keep the build numbers common to the entire 777 fleet, expect to see some variation in the numbers during the next few update cycles. You can always tell which build is latest by looking in the Operations Center.

PMDG 777 Updates via MS Marketplace:
MSFS 2020 users saw updates to the 777 a few weeks back, and another set is being uploaded to marketplace next week for intake. We don't know how quickly that will work it's way through intake- but I expect a week or so.

MSFS2024 users: we have been holding on to an update for the 777 fleetin 2024 as we were chasing down some texture corruption that happens during the Marketplace encryption process. We do not know what is causing this corruption and continue to share data with Microsoft in hopes that they can fix the problem on their end as it happens during the ditribution process and is not present in the product until it arrives to users. The good news is that it cane be fixed easily by simply going into the tablet and hitting the repair button for the tires.

Yeah... We don't understand either... confused.png

At any rate- we are going to tag the 2024 updates for release to you and hope to see them out on Monday or Tuesday. This update cycle will be followed immediately by another one with a bunch of LOD fixes for 2024.

PMDG 777-200LR to Marketplace:
This product has been in holding while we tried to get attention to the aforementioned corruption issue. We are pushing the product to MSMP intake before this coming weekend.

PMDG 777 Sound Updates:
This process has taken quite a bit longer than originally projected, but we epect that we are close to an initial release of the new sound environment for the 777-300ER, 777-200LR and 777F in the coming weeks. We have added a ton of new sound features and layers, and getting them all properly balanced so that they sound correct to our cadre of 777 pilots has been a detail oriented task. These are easily the best sounds we have produced and engineered into a product thus far- and the improvement to the immersive quality of the flying experience is tremendous. We have really captured the character and vibrancy of the engines and added a bunch of new sounds from the aircraft flight deck and cabin environment that we think you will really enjoy.

PMDG 737NG Native Conversion Update for 2024:
We have nearly finished the PMDG 737-800 through the native product conversion for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We are planning to hand this product to our testing team on Thursday evening, and we expect a pretty quick, but robust testing program of the native 2024 conversion. This build includes a number of new and upgraded features (you can open the cockpit windows and doors, finally!) along with some other goodies we will detail in the coming preview sessions. The initial release will be the 800 since that is by far the most popular model, and the rest will fit in pretty quickly behind that release as conversion work for them has is already well underway.

That is all the news I have for you today. Other projects are still moving forward but I don't have news on them that I care to share at this juncture. If your favorite project is not mentioned above- it simply means I didn't mention it... nothing more, nothing less.

I apologize for the last 4 weeks getting by without an update... We have been exceedingly busy since the release of SU3, and I apparently need to stop licking the doorknobs around the office because I came down with whatever bug that is running around the USA currently. Lost my voice for a period and then spent a few weeks coughing it all out so conducting a video update was a non-starter. I recovered just in time to head to Dallas for recurrent training- which wasn't nearly as much fun this year as it normally is. FAA has made changes to the way in which we get requalified and the end result is that the sim check is predictable, routine and thoroughly boring. That is disappointing because I like to learn during training, rather than just repeating well rehearsed dance-steps... but what FAA wants, FAA gets.

Very good news, looking forward to PMDG’s updates and 737-800 NG.

What's happened to the DC6? I quite liked it.

The FAA has very definitely not made any changes to how GA guys get/stay qualified 🙄.

Just so you know... your positive comments on the iFly version has made it very difficult and a BIG challenge waiting for the PMDG version. 🙂

Looking forward to those sound updates for the 777.

I’m looking forward to the 737. This is my most flown aircraft (of all time - which is a long time!) and despite criticism and competition the overall experience for me (including performance) is always good.

Good news. Looking forward to removing 2020 after the 738 release, and the new 777 sounds.

Features I'd really like:

A panel state that can 'randomise' the cockpit (throw a couple of switches into unusual positions) so you can't skim through your SOP...

Better GSX integration for the 737 and 777, (like the FSL A321)

Ugh sound updates only for the GE90 it seems (77W, 77F and 77L) very disappointing as it seems the upgrades to the PW and RR engines have all but been cancelled…

are you just assuming they are cancelled?  Not saying you are wrong.  But he did say:

I may have used that term incorrectly…

I missed that last part too, thank you for clarification, however I find it’s weird that they just didn’t say “We are almost done with the GE90 sounds (and more) and will be then working on the PW/RR engines later” but I digress…

I'm really eager to see what they've done with the 738

I don't expect much. But I'm open for a positive surprise.

cheers,
