FSLTL - no traffic (and no airport arr/dep on World Map)

Featured Replies

I know, another FSLTL "no traffic injected" post!🙄

I haven't spotted this precise issue on the forum.

The first day I used FSLTL was a wow moment but since then it hasn't worked for me. I followed the setup video in the main FSLTL thread here.

FSLTL starts the injection process (I haven't overridden the basic settings) but nothing appears, even if I leave it running for several minutes at the busiest of airports. For example, I loaded a flight in the last hour or so Chicago KORD to Atlanta KATL, and yet this is all that that FSLTL showed on its screen:

FTSL-KORD-2022-10-27-225118.jpg

Note that all it has created are Cessna GA aircraft, and I don't even see them around the airport. What I hadn't noticed until today is that the live activity screen on the World Map is empty at the airports I clicked on, including KORD and KATL - no arrivals or departures (and this is 16:30 Chicago time):

Screenshot-2022-10-27-231503.jpg

I did spot one airport said the server was offline (I think "offline" was the term, but you get the idea). I wonder if it's something like a SimConnect issue?

Any suggestions how to solve this?

Are you on SU 11?

Good point, I forgot to mention that. No, I'm on SU 10 - I've never participated in Beta testing. The only thing I don't have up to date is that I uninstalled WU 11 due to many of the issues others had in Canada, but I'd already done that before installing FSLTL.

Check your MSFS traffic settings.

Try a different airport, wait a day or so, is all I can think of. It has done the same thing to me at certain airports and worked better at others.
It seems to work best if you enable it on the approach when you are about 20 miles out, gives it some time.

I recently landed at Honolulu and every single gate was full of traffic (too full though), but I had the blinking Liveries on top of each other issue.
This software still has a lot of issues, IMO this version is more like an Alpha version. Even though every gate was full, I did not see any moving taxi traffic, no landings, no approaches.

I've still only seen 1 landing the entire time I've been running it, it just seems to work better for some than others.

As I say, I followed the setup video - Live and AI traffic are off - and I checked them before I made the initial post above to make sure nothing had changed unexpectedly.

Tried several. What, wait a day or so for the aircraft to appear???😬 I know you didn't mean it like that!😁 But seriously, I've left my plane on the runway or apron for 30min or more with nothing appearing, other than other simmers' planes.

I prefer to start my flight with traffic showing, but I'll see if it works that way, just as an experiment, and report back. In fact, as Honolulu is very busy right now, I'll try there.

Tried Honolulu, starting about 60km out before launching FSLTL - same issues - before flight there was again no live info on the World Map, and during the flight FSLTL only injected a handful of (invisible) Cessnas. All I actually saw were 2 user aircraft, and Icon A5 just close enough to see its Nav lights, and a F/A18 off in the far distance.

When I think back, the only change I have made was to change the drive letter FSLTL (and other add-ons) were on, but I uninstalled all my FBW Installer products and reinstalled so that they pointed to the new drive letter location. Even if that was somehow part of the problem, it wouldn't explain why I see no Live Airport Activity on the World Map.

Frustrating.🤔

Ok, I think I see the problem - My status is offline, which would explain why the Server Offline message is coming up on all the Airport Activity windows!🙄 presumably, that could also affect the injection of aircraft by FSLTL.

Next question is... why, and how to sort it.🤔

I've tried a repair of MSFS, followed by a PC restart. Then I signed out of both Xbox and MS Store and a restart. And, finally, I launched MSFS. Still showing as offline!😠

Thanks, I hadn't realised MSFS had gone all "Westworld" on me and changed something itself.🙄

However, although that how has me back 'online', I still have no commercial air traffic from FSLTL, nor any showing on the Airport Activity windows.🤐 And even the injector-created Cessnas still fail to appear on the ground.

Are you using GSX?

No, and I'm not using AIG or any other live traffic apps at this time. In fact, I had everything disabled through Addons Linker for the latest tests. So the issue is the same whether I have lots of addons in use or none at all.

Had one last try for now before my long overdue bedtime. A pretty busy Memphis Int only had four C208s generated on the ground and they didn't appear. The sky was completely empty.

Make sure you activate FSTL Liveries in the Linker ...

It's active. Just landed at LaGuardia and there is one user aicraft (with a default pointed nose airliner) and that's all, nothing injected into the sim. The injector shows a slightly wider range of aircraft though (I installed the FSLTL

update earlier):

it looks like none of those planes are from FSLTL. FSLTL doesn't have Embraer or CRJ, the rest is GA. Where do those Embraer and CRJ come from?
