I wasn't aware of its posting in another thread so I'm happy to see it have its own thread.

Sorry, I should have explained. It WAS posted as its own thread. Maybe it has dropped off the first page now. There are quite a few interesting comments.

More voodoo fixes and belaboring the obvious (turning down settings)

I don’t think this is bad advice at all. He does a few steps before reducing any settings that helped me massively and also it’s worth nothing that he is changing settings that won’t make much of a difference in what you can see

All I know it’s yesterday I was flying with 15-25 FPS in 4K and now I’m in 60-70 FPS in 4k

Popping out the VFR map and minimising also makes a huge difference

Gotta get that Youtube monetization while the fire is hot.  This guy probably has probably never flown a flight sim before this..

Minimizing the VFR map is just making the FPS counter reading both the window of your sim and the VFR map, thus combing the framerate of the 2 and giving you a misleadingly high reading for your sim.  It isn't actually increasing the FPS

That’s what I thought too at first but I certainly feel the sim is so much smoother with it minimised

lol good one - yah hes not to technical when it comes to flightsim but thought some quick changes he had may be helpful guys 🙂

Trying to figure out what 4k tv to get for flightsim - I had 43" Sony which was awesome best reproduction of a pc monitor but gave it to my mother

So that said spent all day looking into the new offerings but still looks to be the newer Sony again as I dont want anything bigger than 43" which his making it difficult due to the size

And this is really all that counts, isn't it`?

Well give him a good AVSim bashing.

After a long thread in another forum about we should have power on adaptive. That after years was a change I did.

In the video most of you bashed, he first of all explained to turn power to performance, game mode ON, and explained why it’s good to turn textures to performance as well. I did all 3 as my game mode was off.

I gained 5-7 FPS, I did not turn down any setting as now running 40 over London is more than enough for me.
I still find after running tests the sim is smoother with FPS locked at 30 in the Nvidia control panel, never been a fan of asking a flight Sim to run at max 24/7.

So bash away but try the stuff at the start. It just might help!
