Oh God yes! And what alpha build doesn't have bugs? That's what the testers are for.

ITT: Old men argue for 15 pages about whether or not runways have curves.

At 4 mins 5 seconds he says 'the runway slope is applied from chart references'

Surely that tells us all the runways will be sloped?

Hope so!

Exactly!  I’m more concerned (ecstatic rather) about how much money I will be saving.  They’ve eliminated many addons that, up until now, have been necessary.

I'll end up washing dishes at a pizza hut a month of sundays to pay for it

All I got to say is Freaking OMG!

I sure don't regret all the payware $$$ spent on FSX aircraft, scenery, weather generators, etc., but hopefully "2020"  should put an end to most of those cash outlays...

Yes, I've read about what Ortho4XP can do. I was talking about X-Plane 'out of the box' as that is the only fair comparison with default MSFS.

We can look at it any of two ways. But at the end of the day, when it comes to choosing which sim to fly, I will compare the best experience I can have, on any of them. So, regardless if it's fair or not, I will compare the best experience I can have, on X-Plane, compared to the best experience I can have on MFS, and choose.

For example, I would never want to fly with X-Plane's default weather engine, that's why I bought ASXP. So I will compare X-Plane's weather with ASXP, to MFS (default or with any add-on that might come out for it). I think this is what most people will do...

So about the ground services. He stated that all these services are available on ground frequency's or something to that degree. In the KSEA they show KSEA ground freq of 121.7 and the last option is back to clearance. So I like that the services are available by dialing in a freq. The ground freq is useful and this is something that I always wished GSX offered but instead of being on a ground freq, the local unicom freq.

Next they talked about fuel and how the fuel window will pop up when the fuel truck arrives which is great but a small detail is that he also says that happens when the user pulls up to a fuel pump. That, to me, fixes the issues of how we always had our tanks automatically topped off unless it was an addon field where the developer disabled that feature. Something very useful if you use FSE and parked near a fuel pump after you started the flight only to have it canceled because of the fuel imbalance.

From my understanding: 80 airports have custom objects, 37k were manually tweaked with standard objects (which sounds insane to me).

Edit: if we were to assume a small team of 10 people working purely on this 8 hours a day with an airport being completed in one hour on average,

I wish I could complete an airport that fast...

One hour, I wouldn't even have all of my pictures arranged yet. :)
