Time compression

A historic mode doesn't help with time compression. You are speeding up time and ending up the future in most cases (I know my sims are always set to start flights with real time).

Well, you would have to choose your start time wisely.

I think that most of us just require believable traffic. I often don't even fly in real time. It would be nice though if the sim has historic weather and a traffic schedule for at least 1 year but I don't expect to be able to turn back the clock to 1955 and have appropriate aircraft flying around. Would be fun though.

I agree. Actually I never fly in real time because most of the time I only have time for simming late in the evening.

For the start I would be fine with historic weather going back one year (so all seasons are covered) and historic traffic going back one week (so the day of the week would always match).

True. I guess you should really ask a friend to finish the flight if you want to make it more realistic but then again, you shouldn't even take off without your co-pilot.

I always use Radar Contact and Otto is my virtual co-pilot. He does Comms. If I fly Concorde from Hawaii to LAX I have to fly using historic time. Usually current time - 11 hours as I prefer daylight flights. The flight is done in real time - 2.5hrs. 😁

Can’t see Microsoft supplying historic aircraft. AIG remains the best available and that will continue to be the case hopefully.

At that point, you are getting way more complicated than necessary. It's easier to just have the AI stay real time at all times. If you choose to compress time, you choose to compress time and live with the results.

I don't see anything complicated here.

AI traffic staying real time at all times would make no sense for me. As I fly mostly at night (real time) most airports I fly to don't have any traffic any more.
