So I am even more confident now that we will get historic weather in the sim.

IIRC it was confirmed already anyway that historic weather comes with the sim. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Not as far as I am aware of, but I'd be happy if it was.

So it sounds like even the Rodents will one day be in the flight simulator. Who's laughing now? It's happening. Watch out on takeoff for little rodents.

This is the most important line in the interview IMHO:

"Basically, we're not doing a flight simulation, we're doing a platform."

I can say again, it would be cool if one day it becomes MSWS (world simulator) so that realistic flying is only one simulation to do and there are many others (cross country driving, farming, golf sim, mountain hiking, camping, cruise ship vacations etc) in one big online world.

I think it will.
More interactivity with other simmers / gamers / players in gaming communities will become the norm. That way more tasks in a 'world' could be shared around amongst different players.
Games whose worlds are so large, you can do almost any activity in them.

Think something a little like the film 'Ready Player One'.

Don't forget lawn mowing, we've got real 3D grass now!

Yes in a persistent online world, the grass keeps growing. If you don't login for 5 weeks your property will look run down to any online user that drives by. Home maintenance is a thing.

Hunting game with live weather would be a great project for this world.

Yeah but watch out for the bears and coyotes. The hunter becomes the hunted.

Imagine if Forza Horizon 4 was set in Japan, WITHIN MSFS's rendition of the world, and you could see MSFS simmers in the skies overhead.  And maybe MSFS pilots could execute landings on the roads, haha.

Cool to think about, but it would be chaos in reality.

It was confirmed not to have historic weather.

I have just one whish:

Able to run MSFS (later in VR) >>>fluid<<< on moderate settings in the sim (to allow me to decrease or increase the sliders/settings) on my 8700K (OC to 5.1 GHZ) RTX 2080ti and 32GB of RAM with 2TB of NVMe SSD Storage and my UHD Monitor).

I don´t care about FPS as long as I can fly my plane nearly stutter-free, enjoy the grafics and dynamics with the new weather effects.

If 30 FPS will do it, than it is ok. If 50 than 50 if 28 than 28.......;-)

Where? It's true that I personally don't remember any specific confirmation of this feature by the developers themselves, but I don't remember any specific denial, either.

Also, some Dutch guys who were invited to the Seattle preview event reported that time and date can be adjusted via a slider, and that setting back the clock would also load the corresponding historic weather at that time. What they left unclear is how much you can go back, since they only mentioned that you can load "the situation of an hour, a day or even longer ago", and as such it's not clear how much exactly "even longer ago" covers.

There could be no fly zones at certain altitudes to prevent chaos. It wouldnt be that hard. The ability to have multi simulated online world is a huge draw card. No other game developers have the resources to pull it off (Petabytes of Earth data). And from this interview it seems that's what it'll become. A platform for world sim.
