News on DTG Simulator is coming soon!

I don't believe going 64 bit will have such an impact for 3pds... It happened with X-Plane 10, and I don't think Pete Dawson, PMDG, RealAir, A2A, ASN, ... can't deal with the adaptation of their product for a 64 bit platform... They'll most probably be happy to be able to invest on that, and finally get rid of those irritating OOMs that have long plagued MSFS and recently  P3D...

It's fresh air what DTG is bringing to the scene - a LOT of fresh air.... :-)

The appeal to the many youngsters, and not only, who will be able to join a virtual training school, built from the base and not in the form of yet another add-on that they must install on a flight simulator they first will have to buy, and then.... strive to make run properly on their systems, as a matter of fact, that very same appeal even to guys like me, who can be called a seasoned simmer but am really looking forward to start my virtual flying lessons and complete the full syllabus is IMO a GREAT idea and initiative.

FRESH AIR!!!!! AT LAST !!!!!

Hello AVSIM!   Last year we were very excited to announce that we would be starting work on developing a brand new flight simulator. Since then we at DTG have spoken sparingly about the project and

The only big Q now is when P3D becomes 64 bit, and will it be yet another costly update.

For me it's simple... I no longer consider developing any thing for flightsiming ( I thought about embarking on it, but gave up... ), or use it for rw training, so, DTG is my only option, or FSX, or X-Plane10, but I am disappointed with XP10, and FSX is History now that I learned about DTG's future project...

You can still use P3D, you know. The FBI aren't going to knock on your door if they find out that you are (God forbid) having fun.

There are already developers making "sloppy code" for the current version of FSX which is only 32 bit. The key as always will be to buy from tried and true developers who know how to make addons that are properly optimized.

Just think about all the FSX developers who create addon scenery for FSX and fill them with 4096 textures, some being 32bit, that require so much VAS that you can barely use them out of the box without getting an OOM and you have to resize the textures yourself.

Well, if people keep buying enormous monitors with stratospheric resolutions, then developers will keep offering very high resolution textures. This is one advantage of sticking with a single 24" widescreen monitor at 1920 x 1080 resolution

Well, that has to be the only advantage :)

After reading something at another thread, I confess my enthusiasm with DTG... dismayed :-/

Jose, your changes of mind are accelerating so fast that, at this pace, you'll end up installing and uninstalling multiple flight simulators in a single day.

What did you read?

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

Josh Daniels-Johannson

we should not be disappointed,I always thought that DTG they would use FSX,this must have saved a lot of time for them, they are in this simply to make money for there company, and time equals money spent, how many yrs/versions did it take MS to get FSX up to the standard that it is now?,everybody has asked for a 64 bit sim as a answer to issues and the way forward, thats what DTG are giving us,be happy lots of dev,s already support FSX SE so they are already in the DTG camp,I wonder if it will come with all the world scenery included out of the box or will it start with just one country  and then you have to purchase Maps/countries as per DCS and train sim has started to do where you purchase a route, now that could really make a lot of people unhappy,I always though if MS had created really good add ons for FSX which they gave away to 3rd party devs they would have cleaned up

Their press release said that the entire world would be available from the start,

And finally, yes, Dovetail Games Flight Simulator will include a Free Flight mode which will allow you to explore and fly wherever you want in the world from the very start.
