PILOT’S Boeing B314 – The Clipper

This is the official support forum for the Pilot's Boeing B314 Clipper add-on.

  1. Started by jzimmerman12,

Hello, my 1.5 installation hangs on the VC_redist64.exe file. Is there a work around? John

  2. Started by Nurmblitz,

Installation halts when it detects version 1.5 installed. So should I uninstall Pro in contrast to instructions?

  3. Started by jzimmerman12,

Is there anyway to get the dolly to attach in the water? It would be nice to transition from water to land with this. John

  4. Started by B38058,

I have the latest V1.5 and addons installed in P3D V5. How is that adjustable swan neck lamp turned on/off so as to illuminate the radio receivers? Also, what extra liveries were added with the addons package. I see that a sky lounge livery was added.

  5. i just installed the latest update and the 314A addon for v5 and when i try to load the loadsheet up this is all it does https://prnt.sc/NzSb4drTV7ij idk what i'm doing wrong?

  6. After a dozen full flights or so I have found the bugs described in this post. Maybe they are only present in my system, but they are consistent and I can reproduce them every time. is being uploaded now. Thanks to all of your feedback the following major problems have been fixed:- Fuel transfer Gyropilot RDF ident and VC NDB needle behaviour VC startup - along with a lot of minor stuff that you've reported. I have also updated a lot of internal textures (no Rafal - it will still be too dark for your liking in v5! 😄 ) and all four manuals. Part 1 has a picture of the scrappage notice and two hulls being dismantled in Baltimore. Part 2 has received a major overhaul. As requested, detailed info on fuel dump and fuel transfer has been added ('Fuel Transfer', p31). The biggest change is around the gyropilot description …

  9. Started by Barth,

After a few test runs, I took the Boeing 314 for a long journey over the Pacific from New Zealand to French-Polynesia over New-Caledonia & Rarontonga (Cook Isl.). It was a great adventure, and let me enought time to learn the plane and all its parts, read the manuals on the long legs and practice navigating with time and wind corrections! A few screenshots for you to enjoy and anticipate the future release of the B314 A : Cheers, Barth

Hi all, I could not resist to share some of the view from Southampton to Port Said 🙂 Early preparation of the flight at Southampton Above France, in view of the Mediterranean Sea Egyptian coast Look at the boat below - thank you Henrik 😉 At last, Port Said in view.... Enjoy Gérard

  11. Hello! First of all, I am very happy to fly another great vintage airplane like the Boeing 314!! Many, many thanks and respect to the development team and their hard work!! She's a pleasure to discover and fly! I fly the B314 on P3D(v4) since a few week and am still very unexperienced. Perhaps I missed some infos in the manuals, or my general understanding is bad... Still, 5 questions went through my mind: What are exactly the "carburetor selectors" (off-1-2 off-3-4)? And does the engines have carb heating?? On my last flight they regularily iced (MAP fell down in clouds & rain with low exterior temp + pitot icing) so I had to fly quite low under clou…

  13. WARNING!!! Although the following checklist is based on the B314 PILOT's manuals and Boeing's "Handbook of instructions for operation of the Boeing Model 314 flying boat", this is NOT, by any means, an "official", "approved" or even "professional" checklist. I am just a flight simulator enthusiast with very little experience in real world flying and I elaborated this custom checklist just to make my life (please, note the use of first person singular) easier when flying PILOT's Boeing Model 314. I found the original checklists difficult to follow because they are divided into three columns (captain, first officer and engineer) and the order and coordination …

  14. Started by Ramón Cutanda,

Hi, I am making my first flights with the Pro version and, although I have gone through the manual several times (specially part 2), read each and every topic in this forum, purchased and read the handbook from mach-one-manuals.net and even read in full the "The Long Way Home - Revised Edition" by Ed Dover, which provides a lot of helpful details, I am still stuck with several things. I apologise if I ask anything very obvious, but I cannot, for the life of me, understand certain things. Also, I don't like mixing several topics in one same thread, but opening one thread for each of my questions would monopolize the forum, so I have finally chosen to compile everythin…

  15. Hi, Two questions regarding the filling of the tanks I have been unable to find out: 1. Step 24 in the Engineer's starting and warming up checklist says: "Check wing tanks - half full". I also remember reading that check in other places. However, my question is: should the wing tanks be filled at EXACTLY "half full" or can it be interpreted AT LEAST half full? 2. When using less than half of the hydro stabilizer tank, or when not using them in full, which part should be filled (or be filled first), the inboard or outboard? Thanks!

  16. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. After reaching 52 I can shortly see 55 but then it goes to 00. On both Comms, sporadically. Karl

  17. Started by kaha,

Operating the cowl flaps from an axis on a joystick moves the cowl flaps on the engines in outside view, but the levers don't move, not in VC view nor in 2D view. When I move the cowl flaps with the mouse in 2D-view to all open and then look at it in VC view they are not fully open. If I then move them even further in VC view and look at them in 2D view, the lever position did not change, just the marker disappeared. Karl

  18. Started by kaha,

Channel 1 is slaved to the left RDF receiver and channel 2 is slaved to the right RDF receiver, regardless how the channel switches are set (left or right). Karl

  19. Started by kaha,

Adjustment of the Rudder followup Card does not work from the 2D-panel (Shift-4), but it works from the VC. Aileron and Elevator adjustments also work from the 2D-panel. Karl

  20. Dear pilots! After long negotiations with Dai 😜 I'm glad to present you the scenery of LORAN stations, HF transmitters and Weatherships (they are slighty different from PILOT'S weatherships). This scenery was written by me for my friends and for myself (of course 😄) because we like flying old piston driven aircrafts across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It is based on default NDBs and does not require any additional gauges. You can download the scenery here: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/yk22hf0L7b-JOA Manual, maps and description: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/MV9hfdG_Gu_bDw Lets use old navigation instead of modern GPS, INS and VORs! 22. Started by PILOT'S,

Subsequent to the issues reported after last week's release, we're pleased to announce the availability of a HF1 patch! HF1 of the B314 addresses the following: Fixed: - comm radios tuning from mouse correctly - fuel transfer working correctly when driven from the handpump - all fuel transfer and handpump action ceases if the sim is paused - wrong normal map showing under the Passenger signal switches (FO's kneepad) - VC gyropilot heading tooltip - fuel pressure drops to 6psi at idle (950 - 1000 rpm) and goes to 7psi when the engines are throttled up Added: - mooring buoy behaviour changed so that aircraft no longer drifts when moored …

  23. Started by cubs,

I just tried installing Boing 314 version 1.2 and while it was unpacking, I got a NET Framework pop up saying that 4.8 or later update is already installed on this computer and that my installation will not occur. How do I get around this? Thanks Doug

  24. Started by dragonflightdesign,

Thought I'd nail this in one place as info is getting spread out already. It's still work in progress, so you will see some updates. This is already substantially different to the one posted earlier. What has been fixed: - Battery voltage: drain time has been extended. Switching on the battery with no other systems engaged will drain the batteries to nine volts (effectively flatten the batteries) in approximately four hours. It is assumed that the crew require battery power elsewhere in the aircraft. As the engines need a minimum of 22 volts to crank, that gives you around one hour to get them started from battery on. Cranking the engines drains the batteries, s…

  25. Started by YoYo,

Some asked about reviews of B.314, Now I think its too early to write whole review. Model was released only on PILOT's store for his registered customers only. If you are registered you can check website of PILOTS, sign in and check that you see the possibility to add model to basket (new icon will appear in product page of Clipper). Its not beta stage also. Model was out as full release but this stage will allow the model to be further improved. Finally model will be available in other e-stores too (like Simmarket, PC Aviator, ORBX? I think too...) but on PILOTs store you will see better price in this stage (for now). Its not Ctrl+E model! Personally I prefer t…
