Hello, Does anyone knows the procedure and command to shut down engines of the DO228? I'm supposed to move right control levers to "shut off"; I hope, but I can't (levers stop at feather position). Your sincerely Alain

Am flying the Carenado Do 228 using FSX/W7. There doesnt appear to be a 'shortcut' to quickly access the Do 228 Overhead Panel and as far as I can see I can only access this view by going through the route of Views/View Mode/Cockpit/Overhead Panel - not good if you want to get to this panel reasonably quickly when flying. There is a [CameraDefinition.005] section in the Do 228 aircraft.cfg file which is the Overhead Panel.. Does anyone know how [if ?] I can create a 'shortcut' in the Do 228 that works ? Thanks, Mike Ody

Hi folks, i wrote a small LINDA module for the Do 228. It buged me that everytime i load the Do i had to reconfigure the eöectric and the light switches. The module is intended to be used with the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle quadrant. The electrics will be operated via the EAC Arm/Off switch. The instrument night lighting will be operated via the RDR/ALTM switch. External lights will be operated via the Path switch. Note: All functions must be assigned via LINDA to their respctive switches. Below you find a dropbox link to the module. Feel free to try it feedback is always welcome. Latest version of LINDA will be found here http://www.avsim.com/topic/456174-n…

According to the sim state in PD3V3.3.5, I have now flown the DO 228 for 27.7 hours. Almost all of this time has been evaluating it's short field and unimproved field performance. I have had it in and out of TFFJ St. Barts, Saba, Lukla and all of the Orybx PNG bush strips in the AYPY and TAP packages. The DO 228 made it top all the strips. I could not take off successfully from only Milei in PNG. If you are looking for a fun small airliner with great bush capabilities, I highly recommend this one. It has almost the capabilities of the Twin Otter hut with a faster cruise. Greg

Recently moved from FSX:SE to Prepar3D v4 with the purchase of a new computer and Windows 10. A few questions . . * Can no longer find in library the replacement engine sound I used in FSX:SE for DO-228, but if I can find it online (or someone would e-mail it to me), how would I go about installing it in Prepar3D? * In the Universal map, airfields at departing, destination, nor anywhere else are showing (pic). In the Garmin map, airfields at destination are not showing, but do elsewhere. This problem did not exist in FSX:SE.

Just purchased this and having wrestled successfully with Autopilot issues in conjunction with GTN 750, I seem to have another bug I need to fix before attempting any kind of cross country flight. I have noticed that after a time the artificial horizon/attitude indicator freezes up. Strangely the flight director still seems to move but nothing else. Has anyone else seen this?

Carenado give you a lot of documents for their aircraft - but very little on procedures. Thanks to Google searching I managed to find an SOP from a Kenyan operator. http://esms-s.co.za/clients/46/docs/sop 228 (kASAS).pdf

I can't seem to find how to unhide the yoke after hiding it? I have looked and clicked in so many different areas, obviously I am missing something. I love all my Carenado aircraft but I sure wish Carenado would provide an aircraft owners manual it would make things so much easier instead of some of the documents that are interesting g but not as important as an owners manual. I have spent countless hours checking out YouTube videos and simply by trial and error figuring out the complex switches in the two main panels

Hey guys, I am a bit late to the party. I was looking for a mid range/ mid speed prop aircraft to use with fseconomy and this could be one of the choices, as PMDG and A2A sadly only have too big or to small airplanes. :( Now I tried to research and I am a bit hesitant regarding all the system stuff I read in connection with Carenado. I mean for fifty bucks I can get an A2A plane with all the detail it provides. Now this is not far off price wise, so it has to have some basics to make it worth the while. Now I learned already that vnav is inop, that is a bummer but I could manage. How about the default FMC's ability to fly SIDs? Can you enter them as a SID in the…

I noticed that there is a gauge that reads slow / fast with a needle that moves between them. What does this gauge do. No reference to it in the documents and I have not come across this any other airplane. Thanks Johan

I used to fly the DO228 in FSX, and I was really impressed with the window textures. They had a slightly weathered look with some scratches that looked very convincing. I recently downloaded the updated installer for P3Dv4 and noticed the windows don't have that look anymore. Was this removed by Carenado due to complaints perhaps, or does anyone have a theory about this?

Hi all, I would like the Saitek panel when using the rotory control to change the altitude on the altitude select gauge in the Cockpit. Does seem to be doing it. V/S works ok. The gauge is fairly common and used in other aircraft Any ideas?? Neil

FYI. The engine limiters should be on all the time. They prevent overtemping, and (it's been a long time ...overspeeding of the turbine. So when on the lights should be off. When off the lights should be on indicating you have a problem and need to carefully set your power to prevent damage. I flew this aircraft for Midway Commuter many years ago. You guys have done a great job and really captured the spirit of that ol bird. Thank You. For the flights down memory lane.

Unsure when it was released but I've been corresponding with Carenado about some performances oddities and they've informed me that they've released 1.2 for the aircraft. Has anyone downloaded and installed? Anyone notice what has changed? Unfortunately I purchased my 1.1 from PCAviator.com so it's unknown when (if ever) I'll be able to download 1.2 Thanks!

Given that Carenado manuals are spotty with respect to in-sim usage. Am I missing a clickspot somewhere to have the 2D autopilot panel come up? Panning down and up over and over again is "no bueno."

  24. Dear: I bought Carenado DO 228-100 on 23-April-2017. 1. I am looking for a full tutorial in pdf and SOP. 2. I found in the docs given by Carenado that the flap positions are; UP, 1, 2 and DOWN. But I see UP, a position just below UP, 1 and 2. I don't see DOWN clearly. Is that correct? 3. What flap position is used for take off from a long runway? And what flap position for landing in a long runway? Thanks and regards, Haseen Ahmad Bangladesh.
