Does anyone know if using the add-on.xml method will work with placement and ordering of the areas properly vs using scenery.cfg.. I've reinstalled all of my p3d addons in v4 using the add-on.xml method at least for 90 percent of them (except orbx, utx).. wondering if there is a way to successfully do this? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

This photo was taken just NE of KFLL. I have Vector and FSDT FLL installed in P3D V4. I've got support threads open with the other developers as well but this appears to be a mesh issue. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi everyone, 1st off I must say that the mesh is such a great addon for my FSX sim and greatly enjoy the view change. I installed it on my desktop and had no issues, however, I tried to install on my gaming notebook and I kept getting an error. I followed the guide as I did on my desktop so I'm not sure what may have gone wrong. When I hit ok to add the scenery to the database it gives an error on about 8 files (Area 161 File Not Found) and it does it for different area files. I removed it all and did it again and came up with the same 8 errors. Anyone ran into this when installing to FSX? Thanks, Wolfy

I just tried asia mesh and saw many details added to the terrain. However I am finding there is in general too much variation/unevenness throughout in what should be flat areas, like a rough sea, in areas that should otherwise be mostly flat for eg around omdb. Is the terrain actually that uneven and less perceivable so in real life or this is expected in fsx/p3d with high resolution mesh? I do not have this with default or fsgenesis where with latter there is variation but it is gradual that doesn't take away the feeling of it being flat.

Just a silly question: Did you guys ever consider expanding FreeMeshX with a bathymetric map? Almost anything would be better than what is in stock P3D (except for some select areas around the US). You cannot even use a submersible (well, at least not submerged ...) in the Baltic Sea and it annoys me!

I'm not sure if this is a freemesh problem or not, but i am using FBS - VVCR airport, and I have posted screenshots, there seems to be strange things happening here... runway is cut off, elevation problems, huge black square, etc. If this problem is related to the mesh, can you update it with a possible fix so that the airport will look and work correctly? I've already tried using the FTX Vector Elevation tool, but when I type in VVCR, the airport doesn't show up at all. I also disabled the VVCR bgl file under MyTraffic6 Scenery folder as well.

I did a few test around South America, and most places were fine. The only error I found was this huge lake in Venezuela:

I rather think this is for your information; I don't think it's an issue from Freemesh X. Since Freemesh X I've installed the freeware OFX USA Mega Mesh and the corresponding South America Mesh too - 5m resolution apparently There's at least a couple of areas - large tiles in northern Mexico which have elevation issues. See the GPS:- Like I said, this is probably the OFX product.

Just downloaded the files via Bitturrent and some downloads (Cental and south America :3) went really fast to download with the ratio being ca 11 (if one overlooks the filesize.) but some were under 1 even (Looking at you asia!) plz, seed some more people, or at least set the limit to like 4-5 copies so that you have given back more than you took! Anyways, I am gonna continue running the seeding for as long as I possibly can! See you in the skies! Ty, Drago

Just wanted to say thank you to the guys who develop this great addition to the hobby, its so refreshing to see it being released for free, when in this hobby, even small utilities and, ahem, 'HD' trees etc. can incur a relatively large charge. no greed, just the desire to help, that's awesome. Cheers guys!

Hi No often you find an error in this great frreeware add on but the Mil airport SPIL and river and lakes some 12 miles to the north are on plateaus about 1600 ft above ground. Don't know that i personally may ever see this again but i will let you know as you may wish to be aware. Only use yopur mesh and no add ons in south America to note. Thanks Mike P

I finally got around to installing FreeMeshX and did a test flight around Northern Japan, and what an amazing sight it is. I immediately notice a difference in the terrain. I didn't think it would make a big difference but it sure does. Thank you so much for this amazing job. I must say this is even better than the paid mesh products that I've used such as FS Global Ultimate and FS Global 2010. I want to fly around more parts of the world to enjoy the scenery now. This brought a whole new dimension to flying VFR for me. I think I'll take a break from flying commercial jets and take my time closer to the ground and do some sight seeing instead. I would like to donate t…

Hey! I wonder wether the FreeMeshX files will work in FS9. I've seen somewhere but don't remember where, that they can be used for FS9, FSX and P3D. What can I expect using them in FS9. Greetz Jive1 - Belgium

Hi I have both Free Mesh X and FS Global 2010. Do I need to install both for FSX? If your answer is installation of both of them , what will be their locations in FSX Library? As you know installation of FS Global 2010 is very lengthy , is there any way to reduce the process?

I understand that by installing accurate mesh, errors in certain airport elevations and water bodies/rivers are highlighted. It is mentioned here that FTX Vector can fix many of these and works well with FreeMeshX. I do use FTX Vector but what exactly do I need to do with it to fix any errors? Must I simply run the airport elevation correction tool in the FTX Vector Control Panel after adding each region of FreeMeshX to the Scenery Library? Thanks,
