Maule M7 260C Paint 1, aircraft lights not working as installed in P3D v4.5. I'm surprised that P3Dv5 failed to fix this. Find your Aircraft.cfg file in your P3d installation directory and open it with text document editor. Scroll to near bottom of file and look for [Lights] which will look like this: [LIGHTS] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=Landing, 6=taxi //light.0 = 3, -1.23, -16.61, 3.08, fx_navred //light.1 = 3, -1.23, 16.61, 3.08, fx_navgre //light.2 = 3, -17.05, 0.00, 4.85, fx_navwhi //light.3 = 2, -1.23, -16.61, 3.08, fx_strobe //light.4 = 2, -1.23, 16.61, 3.08, fx_strobe //light.5 = 4, -2.24, 0.00…

Hello, I'm a hugh fan of AI. It makes my sim always looking much more realistic. In this topic I provide (for beginners) the necessary thing (in my eyes) for an good AI-Traffic System (what I use - what I think). This can be used of course for your flying experiences also for spotting. A lot of you guys like Aircraft's and like spotting on airports, but with an good AI System you can do this also from your PC at home. Main Package (AI-Aircraft, Sounds, Flightplans): the AIG AIM (OCI) Link: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=28686.0 ---> this link will maybe change when V1 is released Flightplans: They use sched…

When on the "Select Vehicle" screen, you'll notice a column entitled "Favorite". This is handy for many reasons, not to mention simply hiding those that are not frequently used. Ever notice the jumping / scrolling that occurs when marking a vehicle as 'favorite' , causing you to have to re-locate the group of aircraft you were at ? I just discovered that by holding down <shift> while clicking your favorite, causes the screen / column to stay put, avoiding the need to re-scroll for the next selection. cheers,

Hi! Just wanted to share a problem I came across and the solution I found. When flying using Oculus Rift VR headset, sometimes when you activate the ATC window it does not appear on the screen. Sometimes it just dissapear and it's difficult to bring it back. Sometimes you bring it back by press a lot of times the key for activation/desactivation. Sometimes that doesn't work either. So my workaround is to change the view, let's say to the Aircraft's tail, then activate the ATC window there. It almost always work! Then you can change the view to Virtual Cockpit again and your ATC window will still be there for you. These seems to be a problem related to the …

This free donation-ware, https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm resurrected my Microsoft Trackball Explorer in Windows 10 (now $500+ on Amazon). The only issue is the scroll function stops working after 5 minutes or so. A game saver, for VC panning!

Hello, i've noticed that from the virtual cockpit the ground shadows suffer of a big degradation (see picture) I found a way to fix it. Here it is: Go in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Make a backup copy of your prepar3d.cfg and cameras.cfg Open cameras.cfg and find the Virtual Cockpit one. It is the [CameraDefinition.xxx] with the entry "Origin=Virtual Cockpit". If you don't use any camera addon, it should be the first or second one. If you use ChasePlane it is the one with the entry "Description=ChasePlane Virtual Cockpit Camera". Any other camera addon could have different description. Anyways usually it is…

Hi all! I've made some guides to help newcomers familiarize themselves with some of the popular aircraft add-ons for P3D and I thought I'd share them here with you. I don't pretend to be an expert, so keep in mind that these guides aren't perfect and may simplify some things. I tried to cross-check as much as possible most of the procedures with real aircraft manuals and online pilot tutorials, so if you spot any mistakes, feel free to send me a private message and I'll have them fixed when I can. One of the changes in V4 is that LM changed the simulators CFG files to Unicode to support universal character sets in the future. This will present problems to any program that modifies the sim cfg files. There is potential to destroy the formatting which will destroy such configuration files requiring a complete uninstall/flush/reinstall of P3Dv4. Any product that does the following could potentially destroy your configuration files. This includes things like: Add, edit or delete texture or autogen entries to TERRAIN.CFG Add, edit or delete scenery layers for you Edit simulator settings settings outside of the simulator (like traffic, graph…

Just though I'd repost this information from the A2A forums in case it's helpful to A2A Simulations customers who rarely visit their forums. The release of Prepar3D v4.2 yesterday seems to have thrown up an issue affecting some A2A customers. The Problem A2A aircraft installed to a custom directory such as "F:/Prepar3D v4 Add-Ons/A2A" no longer appear in the list of vehicles in Prepar3D v4.2. The Cause The A2A installers command the Prepar3D.exe to write the custom installation path to an "add-ons.cfg" files stored in the user's "ProgramData" directory. In Prepar3D v4.0 and v4.1, this path supported a trailing backslash, but in Prepar3D v4.2 it appears this is …

G'day All Thought I would pass on my experience in resolving some issues I've had since upgrading to P3Dv4, particularly for those that are not 'code' savvy when it comes to IT. I know my way around a PC but I don't write code and only have a very basic understanding of what I am looking at when it comes to .cfg and .xml. For five months I found it difficult to get a straight answer to my issues having spent many hours searching different FS forums. My issues included: Not being able to Model Match MT6 to Vpilot Aivlasoft EFB showing default airports for 3rd Party add-ons (3PAO) GSX not working properly at 3PAO airports In almost every case…

Here are all the steps you need to take to get REX Sky Force 3D and the three most popular combinations with other related addons working in your sim. All the numbered steps only have to be done once: after that you only have to actually do something in REX Sky Force 3D or ASCA or ENVTEX when you want to install new textures. REX Sky Force 3D only 1. Start REX Sky Force 3D 2. Set all options to your liking 3. Install all the textures you want When you want to fly: - start REX Sky Force 3D - start your sim REX Sky Force 3D and Active Sky 1. Start REX Sky Force 3D 2. Go to Global Settings > Engine and disable all options on that page to dis…

Hello, The terms "FPS Limiter" and "Fiber Frame Time Fraction" pop up in FSX/P3D forums every now and then, so I wanted to dig deeper and find how it affects FPS and scenery loading. I have demonstrated the effects in this video using different values and explained the trade-offs. If you limit the frame rate in your simulator, I highly recommend to watch it.

I believe this should be stickied or pinned. There are several threads going on about people trying to copy over existing add on airports to P3D v4 with success. But there seems to be a fair amount of confusion on a few others, including me on how to properly do this. Currently I am manually adding the scenery from P3D v4's World > Scenery Library manual and that for the most part has worked. But I also see people manually editing xml files such as add-on.xml, and addon.cfg and such. Is this really necessary? And then again, some add-ons include more than just a scenery and textures folder but also install files into Effects, Sound, and sometimes Scenery/World/Sce…
