Hi all, Below are the instruction to install your Duke B60v2 (FSX version) into your P3Dv4 sim. All is working well and also the config tool. 1. Install the Duke using the FSX installer and point it to your P3Dv4 folder. The installer will install the plane in your SimObjects\Airplanes folder. 2. Download the dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64 archive (zip file) from Doug Dawsons's homepage (Link : http://www.douglassdawson.ca/ ) If you don't use this 64 bits modified sound file, you will have some missing sound in your plane. 3. Unzip the archive into a temporary directory. You will see 4 files, but you only need the dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64.dll file. 4. Make …

Hello, Since P3D v4 came out, I have struggled to get the performance I wanted. After following many tutorials and playing around with the settings myself, I am now getting 40-50fps steady in the PMDG 737, 747, 777. Below is a step-by-step guide on how I got the setup I have: 1. nVidea Setup: Firstly, download nVidea Profile Inspector - http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-profile-inspector-download.html You can download my P3D profile here - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_lfB8ycjSMdb1hIQXpmb0dVcUk 2. The excellent RV-7 from Baytower only works if you disable the GTX transponder which crashes P3D. Until someone comes up with a better replacement (using the 3d buttons), this simple fix will at least place a working transponder into the cockpit. (use the mouse wheel on the digits to adjust). There are many reports in various forums that the new Virtualcol CRJs, while a big improvement over their previous stuff, are a little too "hot" in the air. There are reports of 300kias with throttles at idle, making it impossible to bleed airspeed without resorting to the speedbrakes. Rather unrealistic. As a tempoary fix until Virtualcol addresses the problem, I came up with a small tweak: I went into the aircraft.cfg and did some experimentation. Conducting test flights out of Edwards AFB, I came up with 2 simple tweaks that help quite a bit. These are: In the aircraft.cfg, find these lines: [flight_tuning] cruise_lift_scalar =1.80000 …

FSUIPC is a powerful tool for programming hardware controls in FSX and Prepar3D. All of the control variables present in the simulator are directly accessible through FSUIPC and it provides more flexibility than the control settings resident in the simulator. FSUIPC can also be used to access local panel variables (LVARS) that were introduced by the developer of the particular add-on aircraft. Since the developer determines the nomenclature of the panel variables Mr. Dowson (FSUIPC developer) of course couldn't predict what those names would be. So....he provided us with a way to identify developer panel variables and access/control them through FSUIPC Macros. This t…

Fellow Flight Simmers Some of you may remember I created an Excel spreadsheet with all the settings entries for P3Dv3, AS16, and ASCA so people could track and share their settings more easily. In addition I mapped the performance and hardware "hitters" from Rob A's wonderful guidelines post with some of my experience into the spreadsheet using colored cells. I just modified the spreadsheet for the new P3Dv4 with my current settings and for now kept the AS16 and ASCA settings the same in the spreadsheet although they may clearly change as AS16 now has released the beta version for v4 which I haven't installed as of yet. Additionally I have not modified the color…

Introduction This is a Basic Tutorial to Install EZdok Camera for Prepar3D V3 """EZdok Camera is now in a new 1.18.7 All-in-One build. There is no longer any need to update from earlier versions via multiple updates to get the latest version or Prepar3D compatibility. The latest variables.ini file is also included. So if you are a new purchaser from Flight1.com, you no longer need to apply updates (unless a new update or variables.ini file is released). Note: There is no need to update if you have 1.18.7 already in place. So do not install and overwrite anything if you have EZCA already installed. This build simply comb…

I use Process Lasso myself and noticed a lot of threads popping up on how to use it. I'm no advocate for the program but I decided to make a how to since there isn't much variation from system to system. 1) Download Process Lasso or buy it (paid version allows you to save configurations) 2) Set an AM (Affinity Mask) for Prepar3d within the config file (this is critical, do not use Process Lasso to set the AM for P3D) Consolidated the "smoothest" and most popular Affinity Masks values here : 4 core NO hyperthreading processors: 14 or 15 (If you decide to use 15 bear in mind that you will not have a core entirely free for addons) 4 core WITH hypert…

Solved...because after at least 10 years of use, I finally decided to do an exhaustive search through all the FSUIPC documents. The problem was, I had assigned a joystick button for Trim Up/Down, for all Aircraft with FSUIPC's "buttons and Switches" utility. It had worked swimmingly for years, but, in my wonderful new A2A Comanche, was abysmally slow .. I just couldn't turn the trim control crank...yup... on the Comanche, it's a CRANK!...in the OVERHEAD no less... fast enough to satisfy my normal flying needs. Even more frustrating, I had seen video of the Real Comanche trim control, which, is allegedly a Studebaker window crank handle BTW, being operated rat…

Just thought I'd spread what I have learned using this combo, this is to get the flight plan and weather into the aircraft without having to type it all in as in real life Make sure the path to rex is set correctly in the options menu of PRO ATC x otherwise it wont find the weather. I start by building my flight plan in Pro atc, Rex is also running. Once the flight plan is finished I then export it as a fsx file and save it in the default location. I then click on FLIGHT CENTER in Rex, and check the real world weather checkbox. You will have already set up Rex to your liking following the instructions that came with it. Once in the fight centre tab I click on the ri…

Hey So i`ve been installing P3D v3 again now, after installing all my addons again my sim was still producing microstutters while panning around and turning around. So i decided to do a general search on google on microstutters. I came across a fix not for flightsim, but for Witcher 3, but i tried it and it seems to work great on my system too. For me now the PMDG 737 is a lot smoother to fly, so here goes nothing! In your Nvidia control panel, not Nvidia inspector! Go to the P3D profile under 3d settings and make sure that Pre rendered frames is set to 1, not application controlled! Let me know if this works for you guys too, im curious about that…

In the process of building up my P3D V3 system, I started seeing really unstable frame rates (especially with VSync on), regular microstuttering especially in turns, and very high GPU utilization. This started after installation of a large number of add-ons in Europe, including Ultimate Terrain 2 and a wide variety of add-on airports. The culprit turned out to be the special effects detail and distance sliders in P3D3...both were set to high (full right), and moving both down to medium dropped GPU utilization from over 90% (on two powerful 980Ti GPUs) to the 30-40% range, and restored very smooth operation.
