First, I must compliment what Carenado has done right. The visuals are truly stunning, and the flight dynamics are better than any 182 currently being sold for FSX. You actually need right rudder in the climb, which is something that's been missing in nearly every addon to date. The list goes on and on, but there are some red flags. Aside from the great exterior and handling, the G1000 has a few issues that I'm sure can easily be mended. The main ones that stood out to me are as follows. 1) The airspace coloring is completely off. 2) The VSI shows feet by multiples of 1, not 100 3) The FPL page is non-functional (crazy not to have this working) 4) The click s…

I just bought the C182T yesterday, and I have been having problems with the sound on FSX. I try to mute the sound or press the AP button on my keyboard and it does not work. (keyboard does not work) Does anyone know why it's doing that? But it works when I am on the outside view. Thanks

I just purchased the new CT182T. So far its really close to the real thing. I do have one question if anyone know. How do I change the CDI Corse for VOR2. VOR1 I can change and GPS changes on it's own. Is this a bug? I have flown the real one but we only have one Nav radio in the real plane. Am I missing something. Also for you all who would like to get additional performance information via the POH. Here is a link that will work. Well I tried to buy this new aircraft today but am now in the process of buying the Quality Wings Avro RJ.....reason beeing Carenado don`t accept debit cards or paypal. I don`t own a credit card nor want one and neither do any of my imediate family members. Damm I was looking forward to this but I can`t find it available anywhere else apart from Carenado.com. In this day and age surely we can have a few different payment methods. Oh well on with installing the other bird and thats a lost sale from me, question is how many other users have shopped elsewhere due to this? a bit miffed, Doogie

In the Carenado G1000.pdf it states "NOTE: Defaults for startup values of most these setting can be changed in the G1000_config.xml file.". OK, Fine but where is this G1000_config.xml file? I know how to edit XML if I can find it. All I want to do is set up some default to save me having to change the map settings every time I load the aircraft. Any help please? Also has anyone found the TIT gauge has stopped working, mine has I only noticed it when using the lean assistant. the digits work but the slider is stuck on zero. Any Ideas? Thanks, Nigel

Ok, I'm thinking about buying the CT182T now. I've read the threads about all of the issues and problems , and it sounds like it might be serious. But I'm not sure if it really is that big of a deal. I checked out Flight1's T182T, and I just don't like the exterior modeling like I do Carenado. Does anyone think that it would be worth buying the Carenado CT182T in hopes of patches being released to fix the issues? Or should I go with the King Air for now until the T182T gets its bugs worked out? Thanks.

I know this has been breifly talked about already, I do not own the Carenado T182T yet but i do have the mindstar G1000 and i was able to get it to work with the FSX default cessna 172 VC. I know someone said that it CANT be done with the carenado model,Im not trying to start a debate here but has anyone tried yet to see if that is a fact. If anyone has tried with success OR failure i would be interested in reading your comments,and thanks for your time! The carenado model looks really good but for me if the mindstar G1000 for sure cannot be intergrated im going to skip this one.

Am I doing something wrong? When I have a waypoint entered into direct to and it is set to GPS mode, I cannot follow the line with NAV mode on the autopilot as expected. It stays in ROL mode, but the NAV button lights up... Done this a billion times on other aircraft. Wondering if there's a bug?

G1000 - After shaking off the initial issues I had w/ the double characters and finally got into flying and operating this bird I have to say I'm quite satisfied. The inop flight planning portion of the G1000 is a bit disappointing. I guess that's why it is a $33 aircraft and not a $50 aircraft.. Not going to stop me from enjoying this aircraft though as I enjoy flying aircraft more than I do operating aircraft. :) The G1000 imo though has enough life kicked into it where it doesn't seem like a bland lifeless moving toy like the default G1000 does.. Anyone able to get the G1000 to display DME information anywhere? I pulled up the DME info panel, it's on NAV1.. I get an DME ident tone.. (The DME tower is literally 5 miles or so in front of me).. Nothing.. I see no DME information anywhere.
