CT182T Skylane HD Series FSX | P3D

Good afternoon forum, I have started to use the CT182 with MSFS and have noticed a couple of issues but the consistant one is when using approach mode with the KAP140. The Glideslope is captured and the aircraft starts to come down but randomly aproach mode will turn off. Autopilot stays engaged, but APR is off and the plane starts to climb. I have opened a case with Carenado but was wondering if others experienced this issue or perhaps something I may be doing incorrectly? The other issue is altitude drift when ALT hold mode is on.

CT182 Skylane G1000. After the latest Windows update I've noticed that I can't access the flight plan menu to activate a certain leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I got the Carenado 182T Skylane in the Marketplace for Flight Simulator 2020 (FS20). I have had good luck with Carenado products in the past. When I am starting the 182T, I am using the checklist provided with the plane (PDFs). I am following them through pre-flight and pre-start including arming the standby battery. The engine turns and turns but will not fire. Things I am doing: I AM priming. With the Masters Alt and Battery on and the mixture pulled out, I turn on the priming pump and advance the mixture to full rich until I see fuel flow movement, and then count to three (1001, 1002, 1003. On the Carenado 172 Skywagon the synthetic vision is giving me a Ter Err code on the PFD. Synthetic Vision says its is started and running when I start Prepar3d but still Terr Err is there. Any Help would be greatly appreciated Thank You Walt

Hi, I bought CT182T for X Plane and I try it in XP11. The plane loads. However, I need to adjust the view from the plane to keep it in my home cockpit. The moment I fix the acf file in Plane Maker and reload it into XP11, XP crashes, writes SASL error: error not acf, at 1004, can I do something about it? Peter

I'm running fsx steam edition on w10. FSX ctd's whenever the altitude knob is moved. I have tried reinstalling the aircraft and have verified the game files in stem. I am at my wits end. Does anyone have any ideas?

I recently purchased the retail (boxed) version from a 3rd party on-line retailer of the Carenado Cessna CT182T. No problems with install and FSX then loads aircraft without any error messages. However this is where the trouble starts. About 5-10 minutes into a flight the aircraft begins to "stutter" or "hesitate". Tried a bunch of different workarounds like setting the graphics sliders a little lower. Searched the Carenado knowledge base and tried the suggestion of altering the settings in the Carenado Navigraph folder which also did not work. I don't think my computer is the problem. I am hoping one of you can help me with finding the location Of the Carenado Cessna CT182T registry folder. I went into the registry editor over the weekend to solve a problem with another aircraft. I am wondering if the Carenado Cessna CT182T is uninstalled,the registry folder deleted, then the aircraft if re-installed it might solve my dilemma with the Carenado Cessna CT182T "stuttering" which I posted about earlier. I fly using Nvidia Surround on a three monitor setup. When I select either the PFD or MFD by clicking on it, the 2D window pops up.... but it is so zoomed in and large that only part of the window is visible. Anyway to resize it to make it smaller and thus fit? Thanks!

Running X-Plane 11 and just purchased the C182T. I'm getting this strange problem where the aircraft nose yaws left then right in a constant repeating pattern while I'm flying straight and level. It is not caused by my flight controls as external views confirm there are no rudder movements. Wind is also minimal and this happens even in direct head or tail wind without crosswind components. Any ideas?

Hi again, sorry for my stupidity here but how do I select the nav course once tuned into a VOR? Or does it set automatically somehow? I am used to seeing an indicator of the heading of the VOR to the aircraft, that helps you align it and then put the AP on for that course. Thanks, Will

Hello, First - I've submitted a support ticket on this topic to Carenado and we've been trouble shooting for a week or so... just wanted to see if anyone else had solved this: I've noticed that in the 2.0 version of the C182T as well as my other Carenado G1000 planes when I hit flight plan button nothing happens and the "CLR" button and the "ENT" button do not work. Has anyone integrated the GTN 750 into the MFD? Seems highly feasible, considering how well it works in TBM etc.

I am trying to get the c-182t g1000 to work as designed. I understand that many of the features of the unit are not modelled . I am just not sure if my problems stem from the item not being modelled or I'm making mistakes For instance when i select an approach ( assume rnav) i am able to select the approach and then activate it. But i am then unable to get rid of the flight plan window on the mfd. Hitting the FLP or CLR button will not take me back to the main screen. Normally and in real life i could hold the C key and it would take you back to the default screen. Further lets say you are flying an approach and want to go to a fix direct in the approach. I got annoyed with the poor frame rate of the CT182T on my system, especially since every Carenado plane I've bought before has been very FPS-friendly (including the "HD" C337). There are also periodic dips every few seconds where you lose an additional 5-10 FPS over the already low FPS, bringing the overall frame rate close to the single-digits on my system over complex scenery. The "solution" has been to turn off the right MFD, which improves the FPS noticeably and removes the FPS spikes. However it looks ugly and unrealistic with a black screen covering half the panel. I see where Carenado released the SP 20130813 and yet since I bought the boxed version, I am not sure how to update the product? I go to the support section of the site and see everything except the CT182 patch? Any suggestions? thanks in advance

August 13th, 2013 Carenado has released two cumulative service packs of CT182T G1000 HD SERIES FSX/P3D and SR22 GTSx Turbo HD SERIES FSX/P3D ... 3D knob technology were added to both aircraft plus an improvement in performance of G1000. Existing customers can simply re-download the complete package from the online store they originally got it from, to get the latest version or get the Cumulative Service Pack 20130813. This update is highly recommended for all existing CT182T and SR22 II customers.

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place. I couldn't find an exact forum for my model. It is circa 2009 but for FSX and it is the normal aspirated model. My first flight was without incident. I was all thumbs trying to locate the screens I needed while enroute but all in all it was a successful flight and good landing. However, on my second flight while enroute at 9000 ft, level flight the throttle suddenly cut back to idle by itself. All gauges showed in the green and I was not in cloud. Howdy! I have seven Carenado aircraft: C337, Baron, C182T, Centurion, C90, B200, and TBM850. Of these seven models, five have my preferred MFD setting of Track UP instead of North UP. Unfortunately, the 182 and the 850 have North Up as the default. I can change them on start-up (I usually start Cold and Dark), but much prefer having the default set correctly. The manual says the defaults can be reset in G1000_config.xml, but no such file exists! Anybody know a work around? Thanks!
