Carenado's reply ----We tested the aircraft with real C340 pilots and they approved the final dynamics included in the package. This is a “heavy rock” aircraft, using one pilot’s word, so is more difficult to control after a stall and the landing speed should be exact in order to achieve a good landing.Carenado--end ofCarenado's reply------ my original support request------From: Charles Johnston [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 11 May, 2011 5:03 AMTo: [email protected]: Baron 58 stall issues - takeoff and landingSeveral Carenado cusatomers have posted on AvSim about this matter including an active Baron 58 real-world pilot. The last few releases (since 208B), I have had to put the aircraft on the shelf until a patch was released. So I ask in earnest, is this plane ready to be downloaded?

Just a reminder if you need extra control of the heading bug whilst on a IFR flight, you can program the Autopilot Heading Bug in the 'control Settings'.I've programed buttons 3&4 on my ch products flight yoke. ie Autopilot Heading Bug ( decrement ) & ( increment )one click will give 1deg.this will give you the extra control over the mouse click and drag when atc ask you to change course.Just had a great evening flight out of Portland Troutdale.yes you can have a great time on a mid range computer with frame rates at 12 to 15.amd 64athlonx2 2ghz duo, ati hd4350 512mb, shader3 modBob

I have a request for a repaint for this Baron 58. I'd like it to look like a modern G58 paint scheme, with colors and everything, like the picture below. That goldish/camel color should be a metallic gold for whoever want to paint this for me. I hope somebody can do this for me, I'd be much abliged, and it will be the only paint shceme to be featured on my YouTube videos. Thanks

After asking, Carenado sent me a new link that has the new patch, so I reinstalled the B58 and took a short trip................(and after rereading the AP manual re: adjusting the preset altitude with the mouse wheel), ......... and .unless I did something wrong, there is still no adjustment of the AP knobs, with the wheel or by dragging the mouse...............the ALT button did hold an altitude, but again, I could not adjust up or down after making a setting .......Also, can someone clear up another question, If the AP is ON, and only the ALT is pushed, is the heading supposed to be free to adjust via the yoke?? Likewise, if the HDG button is pushed, should I be able…

Sorry if this is a known issue but in my Baron (purchased from Flight1) the pop-up autopilot shows the altitude as 10,000 ft more than the vc autopilot. I'll try to attach a screenshotFrog

Back in 2008 Peter McLeland provided a mod which turbo-charged the DreamFleet Baron 58. I have found the mod which I have applied to my existing DreamFleet FS9 Baron. Now my question is how feasible would this be with the Carenado Baron? Included in the FS9 mod are the aircraft.cfg and an airfile. making changes to the .cfg would be the easy task, but how would one go about making changes to the .air file. Looking through the .cfg the values for the Carenado and the Dreamfleet are not that different, plus/minus a few changes.I do however have a minor gripe with the Carenado Baron, in that, the aircraft tends to drop out of the sky (a bit of an exggagaration)when the throt…

1. I can see the sky through 2 of the 4 lights on the roof in the interior2. Nose gear does not turn when you are turning on the ground3. There are no door latches on the back doors4. At a certain angle you can see through the lights on the roof in the interior As you can see these are very minor problems, but I wonder if they have to do with me defragmenting it after installing it? Otherwise, Carenado has done an outstanding job ( like always) with this aircraft.

Just wondering if it is only my download..........but, I cannot set the altitude, other than when there, I can click the ALT button and it holds, but no way to click the up or down VS when the HDG is on??..............is this the way this control works, or is it a bad install, or it needs fixing in a later SP??...........Don't mind waiting for the fix, but appreciate feedback as to the status of correct operation....................Great plane for sure!! Carenado has fixed a couple of functions for the autopilot in the Service Release, which definitely makes it better than it was in the original release. If you would like a version where you can use the ARM button, send me a PMwith your email address and I'll send you my "more complete" version.

Initial problems encountered with the Baron, in no particular order.(1) Yaw damper inop.(2) Autopilot NAV slow to capture in ARM mode, both for VOR tracking and in GPS mode. Tends to wander while capturing.(3) No option for millibars altimeter.(4) Can't get at the fuel tank selector(5) No ADF(6) Operating ice protection doesn't seem to change the power draw (ammeters)(7) Prop ammeter does not function correctly, especially if each alternator is selected in turn.(8) Cold and dark start - the anticollision beacon switch is on (and the beacon flashes) even though the battery switch is off, and the keys are not in the OFF position.(9) Just tried one ILS approach and no glide …

Hello, from the reading I've done on these forums I came to a conclusion that I would be able to do this (merge RXP with aircraft) because the Baron gives an option of either choosing 2d or 3d panel layout, is that correct? I wouldn't be able to do so with your cessna 340 right, cause it's only 3d, is that right?Thank you in advance,David DD

I find that best takeoff trim for this airplane is around +3 degrees on the trim gauge. To make this easier to set, I've put a black piece of tape on the trim gauge by editingthe trim_strip.bmp file (look in the EGT topic for instructions on getting accessto the gauges in the BB58.cab file)

Hi all,Does anyone has an opinion on how the Carenado version compared to the default in term of flight dynamics? Granted, the exterior and eye candies are great, but I begin to not trust the claim of tested by real pilots after seeing the comments on the C340II, which make the same claim, but then early buyers got hit with issues, which made me wonder what those pilots were testing. It sounds like Carenado got a few good hit like the Cessna 152II and the 182RGII and even with the Bonanza F33A, but when it comes to twin engines, I have some serious doubts. Thanks

Is it possible to use Left/Right Mouse click in lieu of the center wheel? The wheel tends to be overly sensitive making the MAG check very difficult.
