C340 II HD Series FSX | P3D

Gentlemen,How do I get the RXP 430W installed and make it drive either the HSI or the VOR 2 head/needles? I haven't had any luck with that. I'd like to know how to make this work in the V35 (FSX)and the Saratoga and Seneca (FS9) as well.Thank you for any help.JCH

Have several Carenado a/c in FS9; every one I rate excellent. This one with FSX, WIN 7.... well???Installation: used copy/paste to enter serial # (password) and told "invalid". e-mailed Carenadoand was advised to make sure I had omitted spaces etc. So I typed in the # and hey presto.. strange!Am not erthused with quality of default VC panel. Also cannot find a manual or any guidance re instrumentadjustments; so far I think I have figured out most! However; my aircraft has no external texturesalthough the necessary files are in the aircraft folder. HELP!!!ANAMIV

I am probably going to slap my head and 'Duh' but how do I get DME information on a tuned VOR?

Really enjoy flying the C340, but I was wondering, is there a key board short cut to have both the prop control levels move together like the RealAir Duke. Would make for a little smoother transition when pulling these back if they moved together? (i.e., I'm using the mouse to do this).CheersMartin

Cruising along at FL 100 in clear air in my C340 which has fuel injection engines, the old power loss caught me by surprise. Fortunately, I recalled reading a post about the "H" key and icing. So, I pressed it and instantly got a surge of power back to normal. Thanks to whoever put that piece of info on the forum.My real gripe is the inaccuracy in this flight model: We all know that fuel injected engines do not get "carburetor" icing as they do not have carburetors. Further, icing cannot occur in clear air as I experienced yesterday. I just got the C340 and love this plane. I am having trouble locating the switch to toggle between Nav and GPS for the auto pilot. Can anyone help or does this switch not exist on this aircraft. Thanks

Good evening/morning to everybody. This is my first post on this great site and my first Carenado aircraft. This pertains to my newly downloaded C340 II for FSX. I am running a three monitor setup using ATI Eyefinity. I've searched and did not see any threads pertaining to this issue so I apologize if it has been covered before.When I open views/instrument panel/GPS, I get a black bar running across the bottom of the screen.I can re-size the GPS window within the "Panel Config" but the black bar continues across the three screens.I have found nothing that eliminates or alters this black bar. Following Bert's directions to fix the problem I found that none of my programs will open the Night_3.BMP.So far I have tried PAINT, IRFANVIEW, And DOGWAFFLE. Dogwaffle (the last one I tried) provided the info that the .BMP was compressed. Is there a free picture editor that will open it? I do more night flying than day and that square lit spot is really annoying.Btw, and I have said this before: Many, many thanks for the sharing of .cfgs, fixes, repaints, and all the other improvements to aircraft. Especially Bert Pieke and a new face ,flya150 (really neat use of different aircraft insts).

Hello Guys,Love the airplane! This is already my favorate piston twin in FSX! Quick question: I like my VC at night to be as dark as posible. I noticed I get a blue haze light when I turn the battery switch on. Is there a way to disable that? In other words, I'd like to have just the intruments and avionics lights on, not any "dome" light effect in the VC. Is there a way to do that? To see what I'm talking about, simply pull up the VC and turn the battery switch on and off and you'll see what I'm taking about. Thanks guys. See Yah!Ray Lemus

Hi everyones!!I tried to download the update for the Cessna 340 but it doesn't work...I make the log-in and the only thing that happens is that the word "updates" appears in the lower left in white....and it's not clickable!!!

I added MAP and TERR buttons. Now you can gave terrain also available.Much better now..!

I called Cessna and asked if the Belly Beacon was ever located in the position that Carenado has placed it and they replied, no. I then asked about the color choice for the panel that Carenado chose, that's also wrong. So unless I got an uniformed rep from Cessna, who didn't know what he was talking about, or Carenado just did what they wanted and ignored the actual aircraft. I can understand the other issues with flight model adjustments or the complicated gauge issues that need addressing, but this is basic modeling oversights that ruin the immersion before you ever even make it to the more complex issues. I love this plane so far. My only quibble is figuring out how to install Reality XP flight instruments. There are no entries that I can find for individual instruments (ADI, HSI, et c.). They appear to be part of a single gauge or something like that. I use FS Panel Studio to swap out instruments, but with no instrument entries to swap from the original panel, I have no idea how to change them. Mike Gutierrez. North Hollywood, California.

needs a popup, i must be the only one who flies by VOR , also cant hear engines when throttle is reuced to idle in the VC , this 340 release seems harder on my computer than prior Carenado aircraft

Shouldn't the panel be gray? Never seen a white one.

The following is must reading for the seriously motivated. According to the document, the previously reported fuel quantity "bug" between the MAIN and AUX tanks isn't a bug at all. Astonishingly, the tip fuel tanks are actually considered to be the "MAINS"!. It's unfortunate FSX limitations don't permit the fuel complexities as described in the document. However, I don't believe the Carenado model includes fuel tank selection other than to observe quantities. On a separate topic, I assume the Carenado C340 is modeled from the Cessna 340A rather than the basic 340. Thanks to the advice of others here, I was able to get my RXP 430 installed in the top position. I dont have the unlimited kit, so I left the bottom default, which is fine for me. I also replaced the Weather Radar with RXP WX500 and everything seems to be working fine. I was one of the few getting CTD with the default Radar on, Now its fine.Rob

Is it me, or is it year and model specific on that belly strobe/ beacon, because I've only seen that light on the other side of the fuselage, under the pilot area..............

I've found the Ammeter Select Knob's pointer does not meet with the label printed on the panel (e.g. R Alt should be Battery), please correct if it was the case.

How do these two aircraft compare? I have the 310 and really enjoy flying it. If you have both, which do you like best and how do they compare?ThanksBob
