Good Morning All,I have updated the C185 Guide to include page numbers, which I had intended to do with the first version, but hey, I'm old (and getting older by the second... :( ). You can get the updated guide here:C185 GuideIf you don't care about page numbers, this guide won't add anything to what was there before, so you can ignore it.Thanks folks, and sorry for the screw-up :(

Somewhere in another topic I talked about the default view in the C185F being a bit low: it's lower than in the C182RG while this is a taildragger too, so I wanted it to be a little bit higher. And since I use TrackIR the Shift-Enter combo does nothing for me. After fooling around with some cfg's I found an easy way to get this done. And because I can't find the topic anymore where this was discussed, I'll post it here.Creating a new default view was a bit too hard for me, so instead I added a view to the C185F. With this edit you only have to press A once when you have loaded the plane, and you will get the default view but then a little bit higher! All other C185F-views…

No, not a Joystick issue, tried numerous planes and the C185F was the only issue (I also calibrated)When In the C185F I have an issue where I bank to the right no matter how much I twist the rudder and bank to the left I still go right, the only way to go left is to pull 1000feet per minute climb and go left, very hard landings :( Any ideas, or is that normal?

I thought perhaps Carenado might make an announcement, but if you downloaded the last patch before today, go get it again. That has the latest updates. At this point, unless something really startling comes along, that is the last official patch/cfg update for the wheeled aircraft, at least that I can do. Carenado may wish to make further updates for anything found not working, but insofar as the actual flight parameters as a whole go, it's pretty much good to go. If I find anything in my travels that further enhances things, I'll post the adjustments here, but it will be up to you folks to install them yourselves (easy - you just need Wordpad which comes with Windows). Th…

Just a real quickie here folks, but between Carenado and I, it looks like we now have a killer (and I do mean, KILLER) Cessna 185!! I worked on the air file they sent me last night and fortunately had a runway that was perfect for doing my testing on, and the performance specs are basically right on the money now! Carenado will be in touch once they have all the details set down and have had a chance to clean things up a bit. I think you'll like what you see. I KNOW I do!On the Guide, my priority has been to work on the air file first and get it going. The guide will resume tomorrow night and I hope to have it to you no later than Thursday. In the mean time, if you don't …

OK, I've started on the Pilot's Guide to the C185. This might take a day or two to write (it's going to be a bit bigger than I first thought) so please bear with me. I may make this as a download, so I'll update you as I get more done. I also want to fire a copy off to Carenado first for their records. This isn't going to affect (likely) how they model the aircraft as this is more about "after" the aircraft is in your hands, but out of respect and appreciation for them for doing the 185 and 206, I feel they should have the first copy.Anyway, I will keep you posted and it will be done just as soon as I can get it to you. Thanks for your patience :( .

After buying the C182RG just a week or two ago, I just HAD to get the C185F too... The addition of the GPS in the VC alone was reason enough for me to get it. :( I like NOT using ANY popup windows at all (nor any other views than the main VC one)! After my first flight I have to say the C185F looks good, although a bit dark. Everything is pretty hi-res, which is nice! I also like how you can open the manual in the VC during the flight. I have to add though that if the C182RG would have had the same GPS on the window in the VC as this plane, I doubt (knowing what I know now after my first flight) if I would have bought it... It's nice to have choices, but I usually stick …

  9. Hello Gents,I'm wrapping up the finishing touches on my Cessn 185 and I need your help with the N numbers. First, does anyone know a source for the font normally used on most GA planes? It's those block letters with the corners cut off but it's not something that people use to type documents with...Secondly, I tried to use a combination of colors on mine to make them stand out against the blue and red background. For the upper numbers, I used a charcoal grey with black outline and then a white set of numbers and black outline to "shadow" beneath the dark font. Can you guys suggest a better color combination that would stand out against the blue and red?As you can see, the …

Just bought it and noticed that the V struts at the glareshield are missing.I'm not too familiar with the 185 but all the photos I've seen so far have the V struts (Like the L-19 & and the Super Cub).BTW gyro precession is surprisingly strong on this plane and very noticable during pitch changes!

Having trouble if you should get it? I say, get it!! Ive only had Carenado's Arrow IV and Seneca, this one clearly tops them all. All photos are done around OrbX FTX Blue Port Lincoln with REX 2.0.
