C185F SKYWAGON for FSX

Hello Gentlemen,I just uploaded my Admiralty Air Service livery for the C185 Amphibian on Avsim.com.Happy flying! :(

Hello I'm not sure about the ski position it seem there is a missmatch between the actual ski position as seen from the outside and the indication inside the cockpit.Just look :here is the indicator stating the ski are down This is what shows the aircraft hence :Now the indicator when the ski are up :And the position of the ski :Now I might be wrong but my understanding is that when the indicator state the ski are up they should be in the up position and it shall be the position you want to use when you decide not to use the ski, however when you look at the photos it seems it is the contrary.Am I missing something ?

I would like to make a slight modification to my C185 (wheeled version) so that the rudder pedals cannot be used to steer the aircraft while taxiing around an airport - from what I've read, on the real aircraft you control direction by differential braking only (is that true?).If I use differential braking but keep the rudder straight in the current version, it doesn't turn very well. I suspect it is a simple matter of editing the aircraft.cfg to improve this behavior, but can someone tell me how?

Today Carenado officially released one of the most popular Bush aircraft

I notice that the optional patch for the C185F changes the zoom: I am a lot closer to the gauges than without the patch. Anyone knows how I can get the original zoom back? Copying the camera definitions doesn't do the trick.

So, finally Carenado released the C 185 Bush packet, and this one is tremendous! :( Excellent job in very short time - I've been flying for hours now :( .Well, back to business again. The Cessna 185F N22CB needs an update. According to the photos, this one should be equipped with floats.But, I had to add the floats from the amphib model, as these are most similar to the real one. That means - I have to use the amphibian model for the float update. :(

OK, it's time to give some credit here. Carenado has just released the bush versions of the Cessna 185. As someone who has been wanting a GOOD Cessna 185 since the days of FS98, and as someone who flew the machine in real world bush operations in northern Canada for a number of years on floats and wheel/skis, I know how important the Carenado machine is to the FS bush world. The visual modelling is nothing short of spectacular, and when I "sit" in this virtual model, it gives me a very familiar feeling. In fact, in the hangar where I currently work as an Avionics Technician, we have a 185 amphib having a glass cockpit installed currently. I was sitting in the machine just…

I installed the Service Pack and started a flight in the yellow and white Skywagon. Turned on the Nav lights and.....surprise....an empty hole where the strobe light switch should be. I'm pretty sure it was there before installing the Service Pack.Jim

Been messing around with FSRepaint for a few days. Not the quality of repaints I'm used to seeing around here, but it's been fun playing around with the Skywagon a little.

Haven't seen many Cessna 185 liveries in the library yet. Guess that they will show up as soon as the float/ski versions are released. :( Anyway, my Swedish livery will be uploaded very soon, and I've started on an other one. This livery is also a copy of a real aircraft (ID N9093M).

Is there any advantage to have a float plane over an amphibian? Seems like most bush pilots seem to always be waiting for the "floats only" version to come out, but, most everyone brings the amplib to market first. Any reasoning behind that, I wonder.RayM

Okay Gents, I've just finished this baby and uploaded the textures to Avsim.com. These are the "factory fresh" textures for a new plane, the more weathered version will be available shortly. :(

I think it was the green color schemed C185 I was flying tonight, the clock, artificial horizon, and EGT gauges had no instrument lights. By design or error or just me???

Still some small texture issues to be corrected before upload.The 185F is an outstanding model. Once again - thanks for listening to the painters by adding templates.Now we're able to make the paints as close as possible to the original.
