Bryan,Tried my first FO T/O today...tried it twice, in fact. Once with flap 5 and once with flap 15. Both attempts resulted in extreme overpitching and an eventual stall. V1 and VR were taken from the FS2Crew config dialogue and trim was set to 5.0 units. Both flights were also performed with FSPAx directly changing the weight and balance. My suspicion is that FSPax is adjusting weight irrespective of trim leading to a tail-heavy aircraft, so I'll try another attempt using only the MSFS payload dialogue.Just wondered if this had ever been tested?Andy

FS2Crew user Andy Ralls from the UK has submitted the following FS2Crew Voice review.I think it's pretty fair and objective.Andy writes:"Colour me sceptical. I've used and abused several voice recognition packages over the years to enliven various sims, and I've had my share of frustration as well as immersion. However, I've always been left with the feeling that voice recognition, relying as it does on the MS SAPI, was just shy of being ready for showtime. In addition, the aural feedback to voice interaction is either non-existant or machine-generated. FS2Crews' implementation seemed at first to be another galant attempt to fill the niche, but also seemed to be destined …

Hi Guys,I just installed the FS2Crew addon and also the MS Speach Recognition SDK (and performed the tutorial...) but when I click on the flap gauge (either in VC or 2D) nothing happens.I checked the panel.cfg file and found the regular entries (the FS2Crew gauge and both windows 10 and 11), I also used the FSX registry utility program but all entries are OK.Any idea ?My rig is a XP SP3 Home, FSX SP2 (both french localized version) on the software side and a Intel E6850@3GHz, 4Gb RAM, nVidia 8800 Ultra, Asus P5K-E Mobo and Matrox TripleHead + TrackIR 5 on the hardware side. Thanks for any help,Francois

Bryan,The FO's Before Taxi flow has him set the Engine Start Switches to FLT (presumably that's continuous ignition?). The Before Taxi Checklist has the FO challenge "Engine Start Switches" and the PF's response "GROUND. THe switches are being set to FLIGHT so the listed response in the manual is incorrect. I've not tried answering FLIGHT and seeing if that's accepted as well.Andy

Hi everybody, of course, I bought the new FS2Crew right away, downloaded and installed it. My problem is, although I downloaded the NET 3.5, the Speech Rec 5.1 and the March DirectX and installed everything properly and even rebooted, when I start the Main Panel I got the "Could not load the FS2Audio.dll with error code 0x7e. Be sure the FS2Audio.dll is at /system32 ". In fact, the FS2Audio.dll IS at system32!! So I suppose the problem has to do with the DirectX as stated in the FAQs. I unpacked the March redistributable at Windows/system32/DirectX file where all the others cabs are also installed. At dxdiag I get at the DirectX version 9.0c 4.09.0000.0904. At the conf…

Bryan,Congrats on taking a leap into the void! I'm still unsure that VR is where it needs to be yet, so this is quite a risky enterprise. Therefore I think you deserve credit for trying to make it work.First, I have one issue. On calling 'START ENGINE 1/2" I only get a brief flash of the light and then no further spool up - i.e. no increase in N2. I have to start the spool manually. I do have GoFlight buttons configured for engine start but I don't see how that could affect it.The other points are mainly issues with voice recognition. I became concerned as soon as I saw the advice to speak with an American accent! Have you any idea how ridiculous that is to a Brit! <G&…

BryanI like the concept but I'm having trouble getting started.I've done the Direct X bit and Net, turned off UAC, had FSCrew validated, but the Panal CFG Manager says FSCrew Active - No.In the plane I can bring up the panels but the voice switch doesn't seem to toggle. It goes on when I click it but goes off immediately. Is that right?Any help appreciated. As I say it may be me or VistaThanksPeter

As you know, with the new FS2Crew 2010 "Voice Commander" series we ripped everything down and started totally fresh. It's been A LOT of work.As part of the change, we've totally replaced the old "Start Center" system with a brand new centralized config utility, called the FS2Crew 2010 Configuration Manager.Note: The new 2010 Config Manager only works with the upcoming FS2Crew 2010 line of products, not the previous versions. The new 2010 Config Manager is much stronger and more efficient than the old Start Centers.A big difference is that you won't need to manually re-install it again should you install a older version of FS2Crew over a new one.Screen Shot #1: The Joysti…

This product looks great, but I'd love to see a video if someone has a few minutes to toss one up on youtube or vimeo. Also, Bryan-Would you consider making the manual available? I'd just be interested to see how the interaction and voice commands work together.BTW, do you know what's next? I'm not a big fan of default aircraft, but I think re-working one of the existing PMDG or Level-D planes could be a huge seller (or the JS41 soon to be out from PMDG)!Thanks again for the hard word and innovation. I'm excited to see this in action.

After my very first flight, I got some minor questions about the Voice Commander: 1. When using the command "Speed 250" the FO responses "Speed 250 checked" but only if the speed is already 250 in the window. Should he set the speed or he should check the speed? Same applies for headings, altitudes etc. 2. What exactly should the command "Set flaps __ speed" do? When I call this command nothing happens. 3. Nothing to do with the Voice Commander but I can't get the speedbrake to arm! With default FS key command (Ctrl+# I think) the speedbrake deploys full and I can get it back down only by pressing #. Any ideas?? Just those question for now. This product is reall…

If you've completed a flight, please let me know what you think. So far the release has gone smooth. This version of FS2Crew is very different and much more complex internally than the older versions of FS2Crew, so we expect some users to have some initial hick-ups in the beginning. Here's a general release report:The user base is growing fairly quickly. Thank you for your support!* A few users have experienced an issue with the License Manager not loading. Why it's happening to them and not others is something we're trying to track down. If it happens to you, please email me.UPDATE: The License Manager issue appears to be connected to Vista 64 Bit machines only. This …

Here's an in-game screen shot showing the FS2Crew MAIN and CONFIGURATION panels while in the VC cockpit. If you own the MD-11 version of FS2Crew, you'll see that the general style of the GUI is very similar.Because FS2Crew is mainly an audio (and now voice command) product, graphics are not central... Audio and Voice is what's central. The panels are very simple to operate. They do not need to be visible at all times. In fact, after you setup for your flight, which takes about 10 seconds if that, you can close the panels and never have to open them again.A cool feature is that many of the settings in the Configuration panels (such as the Accent and Volume, and so on) are save…
