Hi Guys, My system: Sabertooth Z87 i7 4770K Quad Core OC 4.2 Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti 6 Gb I not sure if I'm in the right place to be asking the following questions... A short time ago I did an upgrade to my flight simulator and added two monitors, one in each door for side views. The new load of opening two new 2D views and dragging them to my side monitors is quite a bit more load on my system even know I'm running a GTX 980 6Gb card. Everything runs great in low density scenery situations...but I find that I'm running into out of memory errors in dense scenery situations... I have an opportunity to purchase another computer identical to mine…

Hi folks, Probably is a stupid question, but here we go: I broke one of the antenna of my router. The wire inside has been cut as well. I have one antenna remaining. The computer I use is connected via wifi to the router. I still can connect to the internet and my internet speed is still around 10 mbps, which is the "advertised" speed. However, I am wondering if being one antenna short is affecting my internet bandwidth because I have noticed that since the antenna broke, I can't no longer stream in HD... This might be caused by other things, but I understand that internet bandwidth plays a role in what level of resolution you can stream... So basically, is it…

I have Prepar3D (Server) and client PC running ASN and some other programs networked through the router and I am experiencing micro stutters, P3D ran like a clock up until 2 weeks ago. I have been experiencing delayed connection and slow webpage loading on all PC's (2 desktops & 2 laptops) using the Actiontech T1200H Wireless N11 Gateway Router. The same can be said for our smartphones and PVR's used on 2 televisions, everything is slow. I have tried resetting the router but the issue remains. Would the solution be to buy a router specifically for my 2 PC's associated with simming and connect the 2 together? I will be contacting my ISP to and have them chec…

Hi there, I want to share my knowledge and learn something from yourself. I am going through an IFR course and setting up a sim to help develop a proper scan, memorise routines, try various emergencies and so on. After learning that iPad can be used to control the instruments like radio and navs from the touchscreen, I thought, a nice pc could do the whole instrument panel on one big touch screen. That worked, so i wanted connect it to another pc that would also provide an outside view on a big tv screen. Well... FSX multiplayer - a bit fiddly, but works the best of the below. It is really smooth. You can run VOXATC and it will inject ATC and traffic. It can n…

Hello, I use wireless connection through a (Netgear wireless external USB adapter). I pay my neighbor and use her wireless internet and do not have a hard wired connection to my router from a modem etc. I recently networked 2 computers together through my router. I cannot access the internet with a browser....ALSO- Active Sky Next- will not download real time weather unless I disable TCP/IPv4 through the local area connection "properties" box. This will allow an internet connection AND ASN will download weather as it should. The reason I networked the computers together is to run Simplugins' "EFIS Panel Builder" and a wireless "FMC" program remotely to increase my …

Hi, Please excuse my complete inexperience when it comes to networking. I don't mind getting my hands dirty (can even enjoy it) but would like to get some basic advice on where to start and just as importantly make sure I have what I need to get started. What I have: New Build Rig (i7-4790k) with Main monitor Old Build Rig (i7-2600) with auxiliary monitor ---Presently these are being used separately and are both connected to the internet through separate wired connections to my router. These computers are not presently networked together P3d 2.5 Simpluggins Panel Builder Active Sky Next What I would like to do: 1) Setup the network to get the tw…

I hope this is the right forum for this. I have a David Clark headset that I used when I was flying in the real world. After I could no longer afford to rent an aircraft I still kept all my equipment ..just in case! However now I suspect that FSX is going to the be only way I will get any sort of flying experience. I would like to use my David Clark headset. I would need to get some converter plugs as the DC headset uses big ones and the computer small plugs. However does anyone who knows about these things know if this will work or will it either not work or damage the sound card. Many Thanks Malcolm Wright

Hello, I am having problems receiving and transmitting voice over vatsim with any client. I found a port that I needed to open through my router which I did and now I can connect to the network and fly without any problems. But the voice is a big issue. Is there a specific port that I need to forward to get the voice transmitting working again? Thank you. P.S: I am at boarding school. The network is really complicated and I have to right a letter to forward any port.

Hey folks, Finally got my new system up and running and it seems everything is good and working well. I'm totally new to Windows 7 (64-Bit) so maybe someone can help me out. I'm using a USB modem for my internet connection. It's not much but it does the job and for me it's enough for the time being. On my old system (Windows XP 32) it appeared to be faster than on my new system. There also appears to be large traffic in the background on my new system (Mobile Partner shows 1 MB/sec downloading), but the only download I'm aware of is Steam downloading at 120 kb/sec (Peak). Did Windows 7 install something that is causing this huge traffic transfer, which is extreme…

I know there's a network subforum but this get's a lot more traffic. Are there any network guru's in the house? I have a Netgear WNDR4000 (N750) router. The router is downstairs. For comparison I tested my phone (wifi 2.4 GHz) next to the router and used to get about 15mpbs down. The other day I wanted a little more bandwidth upstairs so I bought a range extender TP-LINK- http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WA850RE-Universal-One-button-Indicator/dp/B00E98O7GC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385477922&sr=8-1&keywords=to+link+range+extender Intermittently it seemed to work but overall added instability to the network (to connect it to the network I used the …

I am trying to network two PCs but facing a hurdle. Both running Windows 7, 64 bit. PCs are connected via a switch. They are on the same LAN, same Workgroup, same subnet mask (255.255.255.0). One has IP 192.168.1.200, the other 192.168.1.220. On both PCs, I have shared the C drives, selected "Everyone" with full rights. I am logged in as Administrtor on both PC. From each PC, I can see the C drive of the other PC, but when I click on it to access it, I get a message that I have no permission to access the folder. Any idea where I am gong wrong.

OK, so the WiFi signal in my room is pathetically weak and I am trying to strengthen it so I can use my Virtual CDU's with my ipad. Here goes, so please bear with me: Living room has my router (Cisco EA4500), and I have a cable running from that (in the wall) to my room for two pc's (linked through d-link DES-1008D 8-Port Fast Ethernet Desktop Switch), and have a Cisco RE1000 range extender. I cannot place the extender in a strategic location as my 2 year old boy is in the adventurous phase, so it is useless in this case. Is it possible to connect the extender to the Ethernet switch in my room (cat 6? / "blue cable"?) to get a strong signal that would then gi…

Newbie question here. Sorry in advance if this should be obvious. Apparently a lot of folks use a second networked computer to run some of the programs that don't directly impact FSX and the actual flying environment, and I'm not sure if it's worth it for me to set something like this up. I have a so-so desktop with two monitors (see my specs if you'd like) which is definitely going to be my main FSX machine; it's not a beauty, but it works ok enough for now. And I also have a laptop just lying around. (Nothing fancy at all: Toshiba Satellite, i3 @ 2.5 Ghz, 8 Gb, no GPU.) Perhaps it would be smart to put it to use somehow. If so, what would I run off of it?…

I have 5 networked PCs and I use Wideview to display the outside views on all 5 monitors but am having a problem with the number of packets sent. This should be about 30 per second but is typically 2-10 (occasionally a little higher) and results in a jerky display on the clients. I'd appreciate any help to increase the packets sent. Phil.

Right now I am running AT&T DSL The speed is limited, My cable company has very high speed Internet. My question is is there any way to upgrade to high speed cable and still have access to my DSL account. I don't want to cancel my DSL as I will loose my e-mail address. If there is a way how do I do it? Can I use some kind of router switch? Thanks, Bob.

Why would just changing out my router from one with no builtin wifi to one with cause my client computers to stop communicating? All have static ip addresses, port opened on router, wideclient ini files properly set.... Ive tried everything. Am running Project Magenta software on clients. AFter I start up P3D v2, I run wideclient. It says connected. But PM software fires up, then freezes for several seconds then seems to work. However, firing up third client with PM CDU and wideclient says connected but then CDU causes both clients to freeze. It is a bedeveling problem. As I said, only difference is new router, on which I have disabled firewall and opened port. …

Hi, I currently have two PC's in my room, both running Windows 7 and connected wireless to my Sky ISP router. Also, the two computers are connected via an ethernet cable, as I only recently installed a WiFi Card in one of them, and previously used ICS for internet. Whilst I used this ethernet connection, I could share files between the two PC's and they transferred at a normal speed (the CAT5 cable was capable of upto 1GBps). Now the two PCs are wireless, the file transfers are doing souly over the wireless signals (or however it works...) and usually sends the speed of my internet ridiculous (ping goes up high, Skype calls become inaudible whilst the tran…

Hey guys, just a couple of quick questions... I want to hook up a second computer that I have (2.2Ghz AMD) and use it for diplaying Google earth, charts and FS Commander via 2 Dell 17" monitors. I want to network it to my FSX dedicated rig... firstly, do I need a particular piece of software eg FS Wideview or similar, or can I do this through Windows? Also, will I run into any issues by having this second PC running XP32bit while my FSX rig runs Win7 64bit? Thanks fellas...

My PC has an Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard and a Wifi card allowing to use the PC (Windows 7) in AP mode to link other devices, i.e. my laptop (using Windows XP). My PC is linked to the (non wifi) router with an Ethernet cable. I tried tonight to create a new network using the Asus utility, the setup was easy, my laptop could detect the new network and indicates that the network runs fine, but no information is transferred from the PC neither in terms of being able to "see" my PC from my laptop, nor Internet or email. Since this ASUS device is precisely meant to do what I intend, it must be something that I am not aware of. I am trying this with a view to buy a tabl…
