I Just recently began receiving spam for credit reports, free money, mortgage renewals etc. in the order of 15-20 spam emails per day usually between Monday and Friday. I have thought of cancelling my email address with my ISP and use a new one but that means having to notify all my contacts and changing my email address with websites that I have registered on. Can anyone suggest a way to deal with this, I will look into a spam filter for use with MS Outlook in the meantime. Thanks, Robert

I was hoping that someone could help me to fix a small problem with my fmc connection. Had it working through a friend three years ago and I never has a problem. Until recently I had to rebuild a new system, and everything is working just fine. Only one part has not been able to work correctly and that is the FMC unit using Opencockpit FMC. I reloaded the same settings into my sioc setup. This is a photo of the screen: So If you help me reconnect this unit, I would be a great help to finishing this flight sim. Thanks! Tom

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with 3G with the intention of running the new VAInterface to connect with my PMDG 737NGX on fsx which is on my PC. I am using Windows 8. However much to dismay I have been told that it will not work because I do not have a Broadband connection (I have to use a Thumb drive or Dongle thingie for my Internet). Is this correct please? I thought that all I needed was a wifi dongle on the PC and a wifi router that would connect to both PC and the Note which is also WiFi. Please tell me that I was correct or that there is another way to do it. regards Richard.

More a software issue than hardware I think, but here seems about the right place to post... I have a main PC and several laptops on a wired network (or had). All running Windows7. Router is setup to retain static IP addresses also (for software reasons like SimConnect etc). Been using this setup for 2 years without problems, until now... For whatever reason, I can no longer see the Main PC from one of the laptops, although I can still see and access the laptop from the others on the network. I know the workgroup is still okay as I've checked and double checked all the advanced settings, plus, I can still use 'Synergy' to control both machines with one keyboar…

I am about to build a couple of PC's (old ones for the displays (I use iFly CBE) and a new one for FSX). I want a minimum install as far as possible. That means no anti virus for me. If those PC's are used without any internet access that could be possible on a separate network without an outside connection. However I will need an outside connection for VA flying and weaher updates. So now I have a dilemma. What action can I take best? Will I need an extra PC with a second network card so that PC can connect to VA and weather (with an anti virus program) and that PC will have contact with the stand alone network for FS (without an anti virus program)? How can I ma…

My FS computer and "flight planning computer" use separate wi-fi connections from an area some distance away. They are having troubles sharing data, and I feel like with PFPX coming, I would surely want to find a way to hook them up. So my plan was to hook the Internet up here and connect both computers to a router. However, I was informed that Windstream won't put the Internet here. I'm still thinking that's a crock of fish, but if that is indeed the case, I need to do something else. Is there a way that I can hook up the computers to a router, and somehow hook the router to a super-wi-fi receiver, so both could share their data, and have direct connections…

I'm trying to link two computers .... an older PC (XP, for addons, etc) and a shiny new laptop (WIn7, with flight sim installed). Both computers are in the basement (my mancave), where the wireless signal from the second floor is very low. Since I have an old powered non-wireless router from years ago, I thought I'd use it to hardwire the two computers for a more efficient connection, and let the laptop use the wireless signal to gather weather information. Networking the two works great; however, I lose the ability to connect to the internet. Unplug the router wires, and internet returns on the laptop. Is it no possible to have my cake and eat it too? It shows me conn…

I am about to buy interfaces for my cockpit. However I am not sure what is wise to buy. I use the iFly 737 Cockpit Builders Edition and I think I will need to make a decision between the combination Pokeys / Lua and the combination Open Cockpits / SIOC. On my FSX PC I also run FSUIPC. I am planning to use the interfaces as analog and digital input only (for now anyway). I think I like the Lua programming better than SIOC, but the example programs supplied with iFly CBE for Lua are all but complete (many times I have come accross things like '-- to be filled in'). The SIOC examples are complete (as far as I can tell at this moment). However I have read many times that …

In the past there have been any number of times when pictures or documents were selected, but not displayed. A blank display with a red "X" was the only result. I have never seen a totally clear answer to the cause, and in particular solution to this issue although a Google search does bring a multitude of comments. I just had a new similar experience. I originated a Newegg RMA and brought the applicable documents up on my monitor. One document was the two part RMA, top portion to be put in the box, bottom part to be displayed on the outside of the box. The second document was the Newegg specified UPS shipping label (for which I had already been charged). The displays…

Hi I cannot seem to get this right. I have networked 2 computers, the server runs on Win7 and the client on XP. The server can only access shared documents from the client only, the client can only access "users" on the server. I cannot access the other drives where FSX is in order to use Plan G on the client. I have turned off the firewalls, gone to drive/properties. Do I have to add under "Group or user names" another user name which matches with my client computer in order to access these files ?

Our laptop, whenever it's in the kitchen (router downstairs) gets kicked off the network momentarily... and has to acquire signal again. This happens multiple times per day. I ran this program to see what other AP's are our there and found this one labeled "HOME" spiking every few seconds. Do you think there is interference from this router? It's probably my neighbor's located less than 100 ft away. It also shares the same channel as ours (buttercupagain). Also I theorized it could be the antenna in the laptop... we've had the thing for only 3 years. Any ideas?

Dear friends! I hope there is someone who could direct me to the right solution of a problem I cannot solve myself. When I turned on my PC today, I noticed having no Internet connection. There is the net icon with red cross showing No connections. The strange thing is both my laptop and my phone did not lose the network at all (that's how I am typing it), so the problem does not seem to lie on my provider's side. It is just my PC (which is my FS PC, sigh)! Restarting both the PC and the router a few times did not change anything. I have a 1MB connection. I use a TP-LINK wireless router (TD-W8901G) for my home network (two PC's, one laptop and two phones)…

While there are many reasons for your computer to lock up, mine was a weird issue that took me months to track down. Up until then I had a rock solid stable FSX and was able to do up to 18.5 hour long hauls without a problem. Back then I was using nhancer and older video drivers because it worked flawless and I did not want to do anything to jinx it. But a few months ago a friend of mine talked me into using Nvidia Inspector and the latest drivers. About this time I started having a freeze problem where the computer would lock up in the middle of a long haul. This was so aggravating because I lost over a 200 hours in aborted flights. Originally I suspected Nvidia Insp…

Recently I found out that we are paying for 30 download and 6 upload for internet which surprised me (long story)because in MANY speedtests I was getting 19mbps (max) and about 15 to 16(avg) with the full 6 upload. When I found out that we were paying for 30mbps download I took my laptop and plugged it in via ethernet and on a few tests was getting 29 to 35mbps but with wireless right next to the router was getting the 19(max). The router is wireless N and so are all the adapters in the house. I was thinking about trying powerline as I think there is some severe interference with the router that is causing the house to not receive the full speed. Who has tried …

Hey there guys so I am looking to start building my overhead for my 737 cockpit. I have a really good build guide thanks to Brenden! This is a link to his 22 video setup from start to finish. He has been a great help and what he did was very affective! I don't think anyone can really get that good of a overhead without spending over $1000+ or atleast as far as I have seen. The plexiglass method seems to be interesting and creative, so unless has other good ideas that is what I am going with as for now. As for finding a board(s) I have looked all over the Internet at all different options and here are a few. Open Cockpits: http://www.opencockpits.com/cat…

Hi.I have 1PC running FSX and a Laptop running FSC, ASE, RC, etc..... Both pc's are connected to the internet via a wireless router and together via a crossover ethernet cable. ASE etc. runs fine on the laptop but will only communicate via the wireless connection. If I disable the wireless connection ASE, FSC etc. will stop communicating with FSX on my main PC. However I can still transfer files and folders via the Ethernet link.I Wish to use the Ethernet connection as it is faster than the wirless connection.I hope that explains things!!!! Any help much appreciated.Martin.

I just installed a new router/multi-chan n wifi (Netgear WNDR3800) because my old Linksys WRT-54G was having to be constantly reset and also wanted 1000 bit wired ports. That's working great so far, but I have a problem that this Netgear only supports WPA security and I have an old laptop I sometimes use that's only WEP. So I was wondering if I could use the old WRT-54G and bridge to my regular LAN. Would I go out the WAN port on the WRT-54G into a regular switched LAN port on the Netgear, or something else? How to handle IP address assignment? Maybe turn off DHCP in the WRT-54G and hard-set addresses in my LAN's range?scott s..

One is win 7 64 bit, and the other a laptop with Win 7 32 bit. These 2 computers can share to each other, but cannot access anything on my FSX computer.I started with standard sharing (No Homegroup), setting my folders to share with "Everybody". Also tried a mapped drive but no go on that. The FSX computer is visible on the network, but when I click a shared folder, it presents the login and password dialog. Doesn'…

Hi again I have spent the last few hours trying to find Ethernet drivers for my wife's PC Motherboard MZN68-LA and all I get so far is software to find out what drivers we need and If I buy the software it will do it all for me lol. Which would be very nice except without the drivers in question no internet service is available. I have just uninstalled Win 7 and replaced it with Win XP Home edition. The PC is Compaq - Hewlett Packard. If more info is needed to help me I will do my best. Any help will be very much appreciated........John
