Add On Developer's Forum

The Add On Developer's Forum is for add-on's to flight simulator that do not fall into the category of a/c, scenery, repaints or mesh. This forum is established to provide authors an area to gather, share ideas, code, and get feedback from users. If you are a developer of other add-ons to MSFS, this forum is for you.

  1. First of all, with MouseClicks you can solve many common problems. Just try with a Lua-Script to Start or Close Engines for the PMDG NGX 737 or try to open the Terrain MAP + Terrain Height on the ND Instrument in automatic. With MouseClicks you can do it. MouseClicks will be available very soon. When MouseClicks Hook-System is activ (intercepting Keyboard) you can still use the Keyboard for other Functions that are not assigned to a Click-File. MouseClicks in NOT connected to any Game or else. You can use it for any Game or else. MouseClicks is including a "Key.txt" File with 47 special Keys/Char you can change for different Keyboards. Hi folks, Searching for good sounds for AI I found out that there's not much to find. Mostly the sounds you can find are for the plane you're flying, and that's not the same: then the internal sounds are made as if you are fixed close to your own engine, and in a jet that's allways in front of it. So just copying the files in the SOUND folder to a SOUNDAI folder of the AI aircraft will give you unreal internal sounds of AI aircraft passing by. Also, these sounds are far to complex for AI, each engine doesn't need a separate soundmap, you are not sitting in between the engines, the AI aircraft is mostly in the distance. So I thought why not make them myself. My id…

Hi and appologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum. (I was not sure where the right spot was) I was wondering if there is a way to update the RealityXP software for the latest GPS Arrival and Approach procedures. I bought this software over 2 years ago and assume there are now allot more approved GPS Approaches than there were back then. Any help much appreciated

Good evening, Does anybody use AivlaSoft EFB for flight planning? I downloaded the 30-days demo and I struggle with my flight path. I always get "DCT" between arrival and approach. I don't know, what I'm doing wrong. I tried every possible combination of runways and approaches and the result is always the same - DCT. I'm newbe in PMDG 737 (few tutorial 1 flights), but there is nice route from EGKK to EHAM and plane is following this route nicely to the runway. If I try to make the same route in the EFB, I get DCT before approach and my autopilot is on this part going crazy and I must approach and land manualy. Thank you for your answers. Milan

  7. Few of you might already know Air Manager, a 2D instrument panel building application. Air Manager lets you download instruments (in-app) for free, plus you can create them yourself. Because we let you use your own images, and the code is fully customize-able, you can create whatever instrument you want. Air Manager is multi-platform, so it runs on Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and even on the Raspberry Pi. I'm not here (only) for a commercial talk. Our current release is only compatible with X-Plane, but now we have added support for FSX and Prepar3D. However, this is still a beta version, and it's not available for download yet. We are looking for a few people …

In the nine years since Military AI Works was created, a lot has changed in our little community. New simulators were released. People come and go. In all those years we kept doing what we do best: create full scale military AI packages for FS2004. But are we still relevant? Is the community still expecting the same as they expected nine years ago from us? Is it time for change and if so, where do we go? Quo vadis, MAIW? Help us shape our future. If you ever used our military AI traffic packages, please fill in our survey. We only need ten minutes of your time. Go here to begin the survey. Thanks!

  10. Has anyone heard of problems with FS-passenger not detecting switch changes for landing / beacon lights ? I am leaning towards the FS-panel causing the mis-reads. My reasoning is it is directly linked to the panel folder of the aircraft. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

A lot of people and I would love to see a Lockheed l188 Electra for fsx, this aircraft has an interesting past and I think that it would be good to authentically replicate this aircraft for flight simulator, also, it would be good to replicate in the former airlines and current airlines that operate/operated the Electra. If anyone agrees with me on this one, please reply and show you support, Will.

Maybe Microsoft is beginning to understand and/or care what developers want ... https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/vs2015-preview-vs#ManLang The GPU Usage tool is something I've wanted for a LONG time. I'm actually looking forward to this official release of Ultimate version. Anyone else peaked by VS 2015 and .NET 4.6? Cheers, Rob.

Hi everyone. Some of you maybe heard me talking about a new UI I've been drawing so I just want to show you some screenshots how it's actually going to look. I know not everybody gonna like it, but it's hard to satisfy everyone, so I hope atleast somebody will give it a try. It's a still work in progress, but I want to do only minor changes to it. Contacts panel isn't done yet and there are two things I'm going to left unchanged - missions and learning center. I'm sure that 99% FSX users using only Free Flight and maybe Multiplayer, so I don't wanna waste another hours redrawing bitmaps in there. Here it is:

  15. Hi All I have been out of the hobby a bit and are/were looking for the best freeware Boeing 777 and 747 add-ons. It looks like the Posky/Spirit Sky looks very nice indeed including the panels. I have downloaded some mega packages with lots of liveries. Do do have a problem with the beacon lights in that the top beacon lights for the 747-400 and 800 does not seem to work or the panel lighting. I have searched and came accross a few articles but this did not solve my issue completely. I also cannot find the official Posky/Spirit Sky webpage as I was hoping to get the latest aircraft.cfg and other required updates for their planes. Where can I find the latest…

I realize the answer may be vast, uneasy to generalize etc, but in general, what sort of programming skills should one look for? Any information would be better than what I have now B)

Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forums. I`m considering purchasing the BlackBox A330. I`m unsure if my PC will be able to run it. The minimum system requirements on the blackbox website are: cpu: 3ghz RAM:2gb HD: 1gb OS: XP,VISTA OR 7 VGA (graphics): 256mb 3d hardware accelerated My PC Specs are: CPU: 2.8ghz RAM: 2gb OS: Windows 7 VGA (graphics): ATI Radeon HD4350 512mb Would this be enough to use the blackbox A330 at decent enough frame rates? Also, how does this compare to the CLS A330/A340? Thanks

  21. Hi Guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post? I have created a new software for FSX based on my personnal experience with airline training. FSiPanel is a new Flight Instructor Panel for FSX. (Release date by the end of 2013) As an airline pilot and a huge fan of flight simulator, I always found frustrating when flying a new high end aircraft not to be able to fly several approaches within a few minutes without having to reset all parameters. In the real world airline training, the instructor is able to repeat an approach by moving the aircraft to a specified position, allowing the pilots to try another approach with a different weather or any other…

  23. Is it possible to add visible cargo (or any other custom object) to the virtual cockpit of a specific freeware or payware aircraft? Seen from exterior view as well? Could it be toggled on or off? Does it require editing the VC mesh - or can it stand alone, non-destructive to the aircraft files? I have professional experience in 3D modeling and animation, plenty of repaints under my belt, and dabble with scenery creation - but have no clue if this is possible, or how I would even start. I'd appreciate any information that points me in the right direction. Thanks! BB

Hi all. I just finished building my FSX PC (Specs in profile), and have been happy with it so far. Now for the daunting task of reloading all the stuff on it. I have noticed in a lot of posts, screen shots of various tools (GPU-Z, CPU-Z, Hardware Mon, etc) and was wondering if there was a program that would aggregate all of them. My idea is that you could no a shortish flight, and it would log all the performance related parameters, such as video card memory usage, temps, core usage and performance related stuf over the period of say, 1 hrs flying, even in a graph form or something like that. I understand that you can have 5 windows open for standalone program…

Hi, new here, First off would like to know how you run your multi monitor setup for FSX? I have 2 screens, 1 a Konka HDMI TV (Connected via HDMI cord), and the other a ViewSonic screen (1920x1080). I have the Konka running at 1360x768 (Anything higher or lower is blurry) and the other monitor at the same settings. I am trying to set these up for a multiview in the VC for example, But can only succeed when I run FSX in windowed mode (in full screen changes Konka TV to 1024x7??) and thats square not wide screen. I can't work out how to use the WideView program and I have tried enabling wideviewaspect=true or vice versa. Am I doing something simply wrong that changes the r…
