I've looked for a long time for a GA VFR only and couldn't find one anywhere, almost inevitably they had airliners and I guess I understand why becasue most enjoy flying them So, since I couldn't find one, I decided to start one myself. So, yes, I started a new VA, well not really because it is not an airline but rather general aviation only, and we are a club, so I guess it is a new VGAC (virtual general aviation club) lol. Whatever! It is in the USA and, well, instead of trying to explain it, check it out at https://www.fly-gaclub.org/

The first airport near Longyearbyen was constructed during World War II. In 1959, it was first used for occasional flights, but could only be used a few months a year. Construction of the new airport at Hotellneset started in 1973, and the airport was opened on 2 September 1975. It is owned and operated by state-owned Avinor. In 2014, the airport handled 154,261 passengers. Scandinavian Airlines operates daily flights to Tromso and Oslo in mainland Norway. Lufttransport pro…

Hi All, Not usually one for doing this, but would just like to promote this Virtual Airline (VA). As you can gather by the logo, we simulate the operatations of Condor and Sunclass Airlines (Both formerly part of the Thomas Cook Group). We try and represent their operations as close as possible. The VA is operated through the VAMSYS website which im sure most of you are aware of and use smartcars for flight tracking. We do not have much presence on social media, however have a small and growing community on Discord. If you'd like to join, check us out https://vamsys.io/register/f11fb970-524e-44c7-916f-150adf826b1b. Regards, Jake

This month we are visiting one of the most remote and challenging international airports in the world. Paro International Airport is the sole international airport of the four airports in Bhutan. It is 6 km from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu. With surrounding peaks as high as 18,000 ft, it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports, and less than two dozen pilots are certified to land at this airport. Flights to and from Paro are allowed under visual meteorological conditions only and are restricted to daylight hours from sunrise to sunset. Paro airport was the only airport in Bhutan until 2011. Paro Airport is accessib…

Easter Island is the most remote airport and the second most remote island in the world and is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle in Oceania. Easter Island is most famous for its nearly 1,000 extant monumental statues, called moai, created by the early Rapa Nui people. In 1995, UNESCO named Easter Island a World Heritage Site, with much of the island protected within Rapa Nui National Park. It is believed that Easter Island's Polynesian inhabitants arrived on Easter Island sometime near 1200 AD. They created a thriving and industrious culture, as evidenced by the island's numerous enormous stone moai an…

A new Delta Virtual is on the scene today. We know that there are many out there already but we believe we have a great base product. Starting with monthly updated schedules so you're always flying the most current routes and aircraft. Our Delta Virtual promise to you is that these will always be consistently updated. We also feature a build-a-trip system that allows our pilots to build trips/pairings instead of just searching and flying one flight at a time. Pilots at Delta Virtual are restricted to a ranking system that only permits certain aircraft to be flown within each rank, thus making it more of a challenge and a goal to work towards. Our Events Center also allows o…

Telluride Regional Airport (KTEX) is a public airport six miles west of Telluride, in San Miguel County, Colorado. It is owned by the Telluride Regional Airport Authority. At an elevation of 9,078 feet (2,767 meters) above sea level, it is the highest commercial airport in North America with scheduled passenger flights. Telluride Regional Airport covers 542 acres (219 ha) and has one runway, 9/27, 6,911 by 100 feet (2,106 by 30 meters). The runway is on a plateau and still dips slightly in the center, although the dip was more pronounced prior to a renovation in 2009. It can be a challenging but beautiful approach for pilots. In the past during winter months, about 2…

This month, we head to Tibet, and Nyingchi Mainling Airport. This is the 3rd airport built in Tibet and cost almost 100 billion US to build, officially opening in July 2006. At 2949 meters above sea level, its actually the lowest airport in the Tibet region. Known as one of the world's most difficult airports for aircraft to reach, Nyingchi Airport is situated in the valley of the Yarlung Tsangpo River in the Southeast of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, surrounded by over 4000-metre-high (13,000 ft) mountains enveloped by clouds and fog throughout the year. Aircraft have to fly through the narrow and winding river valley to approach the airport. The narrowest flight path is …

In 1938, an explorer from a wealthy American family from Philadelphia named Joseph Bondurant Ryan came to the region prospecting gold. Accompanied by Harry Wheeler and Lowell Thomas, American journalist, they climbed to the summit of Mont Tremblant with skis wrapped in seal skins for traction. After an exhausting trek to the summit, it's said that Joseph Ryan vowed to transform the landscape into a world-class alpine village. One year later, his dream was realized. On February 12, 1939, Joseph Ryan opened the Mont Tremblant Lodge, which remains part of the pedestrian village today. In its early years, Lowell Thomas, the American radio broadcaster, was an avid skier w…
