Eastern Airways operate a chartered service to Aberdeen for this purpose. Until the mid-1980s, the runway was a grass strip. This was replaced by a hard surface runway with temporary buil…

Kahului is located on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Approach to this airport is normally from the south, that brings you in between volcanic peaks on your left at 6,000 feet and on your right at 10,000-feet above sea level. To land at an airport only 22 feet above sea level. This visual distraction along with the winds that funnel between the peaks makes Kahului a very challenging airport. Your mission is to fly from Honolulu (PHNL) to Kahului (PHOG) with the Canadian Xpress® freeware or payware Airbus A32-211, Boeing 737-700 or Boeing 737-900 [n]that are available to all pilots regardless of rank, but for only the Monthly Challenge.[/b] You may also fly any Canadian …

This month, we switch to Central Canada as part of our Capitals Fly-In tour. Starting in Quebec City, we head west over the Nation's Capital of Ottawa before landing in Toronto. Quebec City is the capital city of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is the eleventh largest city in Canada. The Algonquian people had originally named the area Kébec, an Algonquin word meaning "where the river narrows", because the Saint Lawrence River narrows proximate to the promontory of Quebec and its Cape Diamant. Explorer Samuel de Champlain founded a French settlement here in 1608, and adopted the Algonquin name. Quebec City is one of the oldest European cities in North America. The…
