As I am working on my aircraft.cfg I have set the fuel burn to be approximately 25 GPH in cruise. So far so good. Now, without changing anything whatsoever, next time I start the sim the fuel burn may be 10GPH or 60 GPH, and as I have said, nothing has changed.SO the question is what is causing these wildly different readings? Same weather, same airport same everything, except for crazy discrepancies in the fuel burn.Any Ideas?Steve

HiThe Insight TAS 1000 instrument is capable of displaying wind corection angle:http://www.insightavionics.com/pages/tas.htmlBut what is logical to think this instrument bases it's correction angle on? Set heading bug? Current heading? True track? Set OBS? Does it display what the correction _should_ be, or what it currently _is_?Just being slightly confused :

I'm using FSPS to do redo a panel with some reality XP equipment. I would like to be able to blend and adjust the bitmap of the some the gauges (in this case the Apollo instrutments) to better match the background bitmap of the panel. I know it's easy enough to do in FSPS, but my question is if I adjust the color, will it effect the way the gauge looks in all my planes or just this particular one? Anyone have a tip to get around this if it does change the way it looks across the board?Austin

I hope this is the right place for this request...I know this is a bit unusual.I would like to know if it's possible for someone to do a one-off ATR 72-500 with 5 blade counter rotating props. The aircraft, known as the ATR 72-750, would be used by our virtual airline to offer flights over less dense routes at or very near regional jet speeds and to operate from the very hot conditions found in California during the summers off of very short runways. Other possilities would be the Bombardier de Havilland Dash 8 Q400 (possibly to be named the Dash 8 Q500?) or SAAB 2000 (SAAB 2004?).If anyone is interested please e-mail me your intentions.Sarah McKay The California GroupMan…

Hi All,I present you my Skyvan model, coming on very well, not really a lot left to do now. This is my first FS model, and has been a struggle, but I have had some good help along the way.The Skyvan is supposedly the ugliest plane ever, but I think its a great little plane.Hope you like her, it certainly has been a labour of love :-lolDan.http://www.flightsin.com/skyvan1.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan2.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan3.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan4.jpg

I added Lee's gauge to a panel, and everything works great. Is there any way to make it so that if clicked it will pop-up in a bigger window?-Mikkel

Does anybody know of a container application that would work similiar to Project Magenta, but you could run any FS Panel via FSUIPC, but not have overhead of running a version of FS like WideView and then slewing etc?If not would FS Panel Studio to create the Panel and could it be run via a seperate container and updated via FSUIPC?Barry

Hi folks,I am starting to do some changes to an existing panel. Most things I have been able to figure-out but one thing puzzles me.Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=456,378window_size_ratio=1.000 position=8visible=0ident=GPS_PANELwindow_size= 0.370, 0.380window_pos= 0.620, 0.480gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,0,0size_mm=456,378 What does this mean.Window size and position I can understand , but what is the meaning of this size-mm.The size 456,378 is bigger than the window_size, ?????Just for an experiment I removed the figures just leaving: size_mm=Nothing changed all things kept working well. Please give me an explanation?RegardsLeenhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92273.jpg

I did a bit of a browse through tutorials and forum messages to dive into the secrets of airfiles. Now I have plenty of questions, so I want to start with a few...How good is FSEdit for generating GA one engine piston aircraft? From what I read FSEdit doesn't do a good job for more complex aircraft, but how good is it for a C152, for example? Is there still a lot of editing to be done?It seems that FS9 doesn't support section 1101 Cn_dT. Now this is a pity, because one of my gripes with the default C172 is that it doesn't yaw when I change throttle settings. Thinking about it, a single constant isn't the right way to simulate this anyway, since the yaw would be dependent …

I was wondering if it is possible to declare a function (callback) to be "inline" within a C gauge, and if so... is there any speed benefit to doing so?I know, I could TRY it myself, but I was wondering if anyone had already checked to see if it will be beneficial... :)

I have drawn a 2D panel and it works fine except that, for some reason, the program draws a "clear" border around the entire 2D window. This border appears just after the program draws the 2D panel and is not refreshed (e.g. a tool tip drawn into the border will remain there). It does not hurt anything, but is driving me mad! Thanks,Phil

Is it possible at all to alpha blend textures in C code? I know it works with xml gauges, but IMAGE_USE_ALPHA seems to only work for luminous maps. I tried using an alpha channel, but it didn't have any effect. It would sure be nice to have semi-transparency in C code also...Cheers, Christian

I was wondering if it is possible to have a global init for a gauge collection. I want to read the registry and set the path where FS2004 saves the aircraft config files. However, rather than doing this for each individual gauge, I'd rather do it ONCE on startup and save it as a variable (to save time). I could theoretically do it in only one gauge, but if someone would not include that gauge in the panel, then the init callback won't get called, causing a problem for the other gauges.Secondly, I'd like to reset values after a failure. The beauty of the electrical panel failure is that I don't need to check battery and alternator status (which costs time). However, I want…

I have some ideas to take the cockpit rendering to a new level, but for that I need the sun and eye positions. Is there a way to get those parameters into a gauge file? I assume it could be done with FSUIPC but is there a simpler way?Cheers, Christian

Sorry if this message repeats, appears to be a problem logging in.Hi, I have been building scenery for a while and would like to model a hovercraft for normal use and AI.Before starting out I would like to ask if this is likely to be possible. The model would have to rise slightly when power is applied to simulate the skirt inflating and side/reverse thrust would have to be simulated when the forward nozzles are rotated.I feel confident enough to build the model, but not a clue with the aircraft.cfg.Will this project be possible, and anything I should know before starting out. Thanks for any advice, David

Anybody have any ideas on what is causing my 2D cockpit panels to display only a large black rectangle where the panel should be in my default MSFS aircraft. The panel will show up if I convert it to a title bar panel. I bet instrument descriptions when I pass the cursor over the black rectangle. I have looked at the panel.cfg files and they appear normal. Thanks for your help.Ken

Hi all!I started with gauge design lately doing very basic things.I use FSpanel studio a lot, but even though I read a lot of stuff I'm still stuck with many xml code.I have made a new windows in one of the panels an Autopilot window accessed through the View - Instruments menu, it works OK, but I want to make a switch to show the Autopilot window on and off.I tried to modify simple switches code but no joy.I can't get the click code correct to address the window.Any help? Thanks allregardsbahri

In case anyone is interested to create relatively accurate models of the 7e7, Boeing just filed a design patent for the aircraft where you can see a threeview of the aircraft. I haven't seen one before.Search patent number D495,653 at http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-bool.html and click on "images".These are not very detailed drawings, but certainly much better that trying to guesstimate the shapes from conceptual renderings. The planforms are particularly interesting, and I am intrigued by the curved trailing edge of the horizontal tail.--Machdiamond
