  1. If you look more closely at the screenshot you took, it says it is 2.16KB, not MB.
  2. The default way of setting up controls in FSX is junk. @scianoir is correct, using FSUIPC4 is the best way to map and configure all of your controls. FSUIPC4 is an essential addon for FSX in my opinion, I probably wouldn't use FSX without it. You can find it here: simMarket: FSUIPC4 There is actually another great tool for mapping and configuring controls called Axis and Ohs which you can find here: simMarket: LORBY-SI - AXIS AND OHS V4 FSX P3D MSFS I've tried both and both are great. They are both payware though. FSUIPC4 does have some extra features that the other one does not, but both are great for controls.
  3. This is where I got it from: I used to have a profile picture uploaded but now it's disappeared. The old image I used was much larger than 245 KB, but now it seems I've been restricted to 245 KB and my old image was deleted.
  4. I've been trying to use a screenshot from a flight sim I took as a profile picture, but I am unable to make it small enough to meet the 245 kb maximum size limit. That is a ridiculously small file size that makes it impossible to use any FS screenshot as a profile picture. I've tried cropping the image, resizing the image and converting the image to jpg but the file size is still too large. The smallest I can get it is 320 kb and I have no idea how to decrease the file size any further without destroying the image quality.
  5. Thank you for the heads up. I've been a long-time user of FSX and somehow I have never heard of this site before. I really wish I would have known about it sooner, but I will definitely be creating an account to download as much as I can. Can I ask, how long before you will be shutting down? Do you have a specific date?
  6. This may be a great option to try to find the CVIA INS from simulfly. The Wayback Machine is a great way for find add-ons that no longer are on the internet.
  7. Here's a much better version. It's called the Delco Carousel CIVA INS and you can find it here: AVSIM Library (First on the list of downloads). I think this is a different link because I double checked the file name, which is supposed to be called CIVA_INS.zip and this one has the same file name. Yes it says it's for the CLS 747 again, but the file name is correct, so it should be the right one. I noticed there's actually multiple CIVA INS unit downloads for the CLS 747, but I think the other one was broken.
  8. I see, that is very strange. How is it supposed to work without the actual panel 😞 I've downloaded old freeware add-ons in the past that were missing files too, unfortunately it does happen.
  9. Yes, it's originally designed for the CLS 747, however, if you know how to properly edit the panel.cfg files, you should be able to add it to any aircraft. Edit: If you don't know how to make it work with other aircraft, I strongly recommend you ask an AI chat bot to help you. They can walk you through it step by step.
  10. I did some searching and I couldn't find the one you're looking for but I did find this one here: AVSIM Library (it's the first download at the top of the list) You should be able to add it to any aircraft I believe. Also, here's another helpful tool for when using a CIVA INS: ToCIVA Flight Plan Converter Utility for FSX
  11. Haha! I've had that happen many times when emailing developers about their FSX products. They usually say something like: "These are legacy products and we no longer support them. We've moved on to developing for MSFS. You should upgrade to MSFS...". As if I didn't already know lol And your right, I agree. They really need to state on the pages for their products that they no longer support them.
  12. What I think is great is that Just Flight still gives support for their legacy FSX products, many other developers don't anymore. Even though they still sell their FSX products, many developers will just ignore you if you have any questions or problems with their old FSX stuff.
  13. You need to contact Just Flight Support again and tell them what happened. They are the only ones that can help you in this situation. Can I ask, which online store did you buy it from? I'm asking because one time, I bought an aircraft from a site that was not the latest version. This is very rarre, because most stores sell the latest versions of their add-ons. The developer did fix the problem in my case. Just Flight has pretty good support overall, so as long as you keep pestering them (in a kind way), they will usually help you as best they can.
  14. This is true, you are right, it does take some effort to learn how, but there's so much information out there, it's not that difficult to learn. An even easier way to learn now days is to just ask an AI chat bot to help you learn. They can tell you what every single setting in the fsx.cfg can do and recommend on how to tweak it based on your hardware if you ask it. I swear, I use chat bots more than I use Google now days lol For managing VAS it's as simple as just using lower resolution textures, it's really not that difficult. Texture packages often come with different sized textures to choose from. Some sceneries offer lower resolution textures too like Orbx airports as just one example. That is a good suggestion, the OP would be better off with a 2000 GPU if they can afford it.
  15. With FSX, as long as you learn to manage VAS, FSX can still be a great experience. The best ways to keep VAS usage down is to use scenery and replacement textures (global airports, sky, clouds, grass, etc.) that use lower resolution textures. Do not use 4K textures in FSX when possible, it is the biggest VAS hog there is. And the same goes for aircraft with 4K textures, stay away from those types of aircraft in FSX. Also, aircraft that have lots of systems modeled will eat a large amount of VAS too, but sometimes this cannot be avoided if you want to fly a study level aircraft. Personally, my rule of thumb is to mostly use scenery and replacement textures that are 1K or some may be 2K, and I try not to use aircraft that have higher than 2K resolution textures. A couple other ways are to reduce certain scenery related settings, like autogen density, cloud draw distance, and cloud density. Also, do not set water to maximum quality, set it to high. Doing these things will greatly reduce the amount of VAS usage. Yes, P3Dv4 and P3Dv5 are better of course, and it has its advantages, but I do know that as far as P3Dv5 goes, there is still a memory limit. If you use more than 8 GB of VRAM with P3Dv5, it will crash every time, no matter how much VRAM your GPU can handle. This is a known issue with it. I can't say if P3Dv4 is the same because I never used it though.
  16. Are you running FSX in DX9 mode or DX10 mode? It sounds like you're running it in DX10 mode, and it's possible that particular aircraft may not work in DX10 mode. Some aircraft only work in DX9 mode due to their design so try running FSX in DX9 mode with this aircraft and see if that helps.
  17. This particular sale is now over, but he has another sale going on. He's still offering bundles for $70 instead of $50 which is still a steal. He has also revamped his website: Home | FC Scenery Just for anyone else that is interested in helping Fernando pay for his treatments that he needs but are not interested in buying his scenery, you can find donation links to his Go Fund Me page, and PaPal from this webpage here: About Me | FC Scenery´s This page also has the story of his background and he also talks about his diagnosis and the treatment he needs.
  18. @alosi047 Those specifications should work just fine with your add-ons. I've seen people run FSX with heavier add-ons on laptops with lower specifications that that. To get FSX working at its maximum potential, I strongly recommend that you learn how to edit and tweak things in the fsx.cfg file so that you can tune FSX to your laptop's specifications if you haven't learned how already. FSX works best when it's tuned to your specific hardware.
  19. It's called Switzerland Professional, which is detailed VFR scenery that covers the entire country of Switzerland. Also, I should mention that all or most of the airports they sell on their site are Swiss airports that are designed to go with the VFR scenery. Sorry, I should have posted the direct links. Here they are: https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/pi/Add-Ons-FSX/switzerland-professional-fsx.html (FSX) https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/pi/Add-ons-P3D-V4x/switzerland-professional-v4.html (P3DV4) https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/pi/P3D-V5/switzerland-professional-v4.html (P3DV5)
  20. On FlyLogic's website, you can buy Switzerland Professional for only SFr. 30 (Swiss Franc), which comes out to around $34 USD. If you look anywhere else this is add-on is for sale, it's over $100 USD normally. This price is for the P3Dv4 and P3Dv5 versions. The FSX version has a lower price than normal too, it's listed at SFr. 64.50. I don't know if this is an actual sale or a permanent price adjustment, it's not listed as a sale for P3D, but it is listed as a sale for FSX, as well as other FSX products. Here's the links: https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/ki/Add-Ons-FSX.html https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/ki/Titre-francais-P3D-V4.html https://www.flylogicsoftware.com/ki/P3D-V5.html
  21. Thanks for sharing this.
  22. Make sure if you are using something like AdBlocker Ultimate or Malwarebytes Browser Guard or something similar, that you disable them first, then try to download. If that's not the problem, your best bet is to try contacting inibuilds support for help.
  23. I'm glad you took my advice, at least it's a workaround that helps make it so it's not a huge deal. If you want to try something fun, try to learn how to navigate using the CIVA navigation unit instead of the GPS. That is what the real aircraft used for navigation back in the day. The Captain Sim 727 comes with one. It's actually not that difficult to use. I used an AI chat bot to teach me how to use it. The mod I mentioned just improves flight dynamics (flight model) so that the plane flies closer to the real thing. It does not fix anything else, just the flight dynamics. I don't buy many Captain Sim aircraft because the flight dynamics are very unrealistic and do not fly like the real aircraft do. Here's the link to them anyway if you want to try them: https://mega.nz/folder/y9tGWCIZ#ELLHwLlYfjC3Ep6htbxHpg In that folder there's FDE (flight dynamics) mods I found for the Captain Sim 727-100, 727-200, 737-200 and the 757. The package for the 737-200 is actually a total overhaul of the airplane, it fixes a lot more than just the flight dynamics. These packages were difficult to find on the internet which is why I am sharing them instead of giving you the original links. I'm not sure if I could even find them again if I tried, they were really buried on the web.
