Could this mean that a weather radar will be possible in the near future?
You spend more time in the air than you do on the ground and in it's current form weather engines are pretty sterile.

"Speaking of entering clouds... be careful.. especially with those thunderstorms. They now can render your aircraft uncontrollable if the conditions are right (and your decision making is wrong). Synchronized turbulence and updrafts/downdrafts are here (and we can't forget about the new microbursts and redesigned wind shear effects). Turbulence is also redesigned (along with wind shear), bypassing the FS-internal simulation. Vertical and horizontal wind action affects your aircraft realistically." Wow wow wowwwwww...my head just exploded. Can't wait!!

Any VNAV Complaints
Seems to d/c and go into FLCH mode around 18,000ft... Haven't really read into this A/C much so there could be a reason...

Is it worth $90?
Hrm, well good question. I like this Aircraft but I think the NGX was a better product and is more fun to fly (puts flame suit on). I'm just not getting the WOW this is awesome feeling. I might need to fly on a 777 in real life to get that feeling....I've flown on 738s a lot. TL:DR If you want a NGX quality long hauler get it for sure.

AS2012 SP2! Beta #4 is now available
VBHB replied to Damian Clark's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi guys love what you're doing with ASE 2012! One suggestion if I could offer it; When you pass clouds could you guys code the engine in such a way they don't just disappear when the program loads up the data from the next weather station? If it could meld the previous cloud formation into the new one say 30nm away? Kind of kills the immersion when you're flying through some cool cloud formations and then pop they all disappear :( I have my download interval set at 10minutes.

Storm missing?
VBHB replied to VBHB's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumThanks for the awesome light show Hifi Did a YBBN to YBMK run off runway 01. Storm was to the north and north west so I was able to fly out over the ocean with no worries, RL jets are still landing at Brissie as I type this on the 19 ILS.

Storm missing?
Huge storm floating through Toowoomba (YTWB) to Brisbane (YBBN) at the moment 0750GMT and the weather at YTWB is few clouds at 8200ft... Darwin (YPDN) weather looks about right on the weather radar... Also I've noticed that you've got Bamaga (YBAM) weather station right next too Amberley (YAMB) on the Map screen. Bamaga is at the top of the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland.

Real Pilot, maybe?
Hahaha this is more funnier than the PPRUNE forums, at least they keep their cool and "professionalism" without putting each other on ban lists like school kids. Being a Pilot isn't a job that the General Public respect, they think they're "glorified bus drivers/button pushers" everyone wants cheap flights and Airlines are trying to compete in a global market these days. I had that twinge of wanting to be a Pilot for awhile, then I saw how the industry is and the money it requires to get a job. No thanks I'll stick to my career. I've had my eye on ATC for awhile and I'm more interested along those lines, maybe. Keep the dream alive fellas.

who wants a PMDG 717
- REX Essential released
Yeah it looks pretty etc etc but the flight planning part of it is terrible which ASE does really well. I've noticed with basic flights in Aus (SYD - MELB) and between other major routes you can't add in a lot of way points. Also you can't see current weather conditions when flying over weather stations away from Airports like ASE does so your descent wind data is way out leading to screwing up your descent. Also ASE gives you average winds/temp over the entire flight plan so you can input them into the FMC for a more accurate fuel burn which RexE doesn't... ASE seems to not be updating things lately dunno what the company is doing??? Shame.- Alternative to simroutes
Simroutes isn't able to convert your plans to a .pln file so that you can import them into REX/ASE. It's an invaluable tool for me to get everything right, ASE and REX don't have all the way points in their databases. Don't know why it isn't working over there at the moment but is there anything like that out there?- REX Essential released
Ah crap I ordered REX2 as a DVD which they posted to me... can I re-download it from FSS?- Hey just had the NGX/FSX Crash on me - apphangb1 error
I was flying a NZCH to YBBN flight and after T/A (transition altitude of 13000) I've gone away from the computer and done other things. Anyways I've come back after three hours and I was about 17000ft above the glide path for descent as calculated by the FMS so I start playing around in it setting up the STAR and the runway as per the ATIS info. I got. I've confirmed it all and I was still way above the programmed descent path so I decided to fly via the heading select button to extend my glide which turned off the LNAV. My actual heading didn't change but the aircraft started a turn to the right then it froze. Never happened to me before. I run win7 64 bit home and had VAFS 5, ASE 2012, Vatspy, Google plus that had 3 tabs open and Windows media running at the time of descent. The error was specific to fsx.exe "apphangb1" error. FYI- Community change to X-Plane: where do we go?
^ where's the like button- CDU Preflight and Engine Start Up
.- FO doesn´t operate the MCP sometimes right
I only use the button control version and yes once again everything is set up properly.I follow the F/D upon take off and press the COMMAND A button and the FO says "COMMAND A", it's a hit and miss, it's either on or hasn't worked.I'll just physically do it myself from now on I don't trust it.- FS2 Online Store Issue
Logged into my account and I went to "Completed Orders" and nothing is there. I would like to download SP1.Still have my emails with my order number stating my order is now completed.- FO doesn´t operate the MCP sometimes right
FO sometimes for me doesn't engage COMMAND A nor LNAV or VNAV, nearly crashed into a mountain tonight because I thought the FO turned on LNAV!Plane's configured properly.- High TAT PMDG NGX
VBHB replied to VBHB's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumStill getting silly TAT's, +10 degress @ FL280 flying out of Nadi (NFFN). TAT should be around -13 or colder. Using latest Beta.- Please help me install the forms of the esteemed professors Pmdg 737
