I was at Cosford last September and there seemed to be just as much room as usual.

Native P3Dv6 Addons List?
Ideal Flight S - native P3D v6 install - installs outside the sim (Flight 1).

"Error opening file for writing"....when installing aircraft.
Since we become members of the Users group when we log into windows and become authenticated, permission to alter file or folder content is properly achieved by adding the Modify permission to the Users group on that folder or file. I don't think this is a cure for Randy's problem, since the Users group already has modify access to the SteamApps folder. Hi Randy! A while since we spoke. I hope all is good with you and yours.

Fluid frames tweaks?
"AM 253 for P3D - quick loading & Core 0 for P3D only Offload addon's for P3D to batch with HEX A0 for avoiding Core 0" Seems OK to say that. I took it to mean 'reserved core zero by pushing addons above core zero', therefore core zero is used only by P3D, even if it's only one of the LPs, which is key to P3D; using 253 or any AM that enables only one LP of the first core encountered by the sim processes.

Fluid frames tweaks?
I just used 36 as an example. GSync does actually work by dropping the frame rate to match the frequency down to 30.

Fluid frames tweaks?
Seems like a very savvy setup. Have you tried locking at a division frequency of the monitor? e.g. for 144hz refresh you can lock (on the fps slider in P3D display settings) at 36 = 144/4, set gsync to 36 and it will match any drop outs in fps down to 30.

The AVSIM Prepar3D Guide topic
I would add that using the device name requires DNS be intact. These days that's most likely all of the time but it is a possible source of problems. Start out by using the IP addresses, and when all is working change to the device names before retesting. With networking addons it's easiest if the same logon credentials are used on each PC, make the Profile name and password the same on each. When logging onto Windows we become members of the Users group. When making a folder to install applications onto, remember that these belong to the user that created the folder, not anyone else. To ensure no snags in future with other profiles or logons, add the "Modify" permission to the "Users Group" on the app installed program files folder. If P3D is installed into the default Program Files folder, add the Modify permission for the Users group on that folder so that addons that expect write permission there can write to their files without special privileges. Problems from unnecessary path length mentioned in the guide do not manifest from the storage system itself which uses virtual FATs and addresses are all the same. Instead long paths can present a problem with certain apps when they convert relative paths into real paths. In general it's not an issue.

The AVSIM Prepar3D Guide topic
Simplifying the null zone information for a regular experience is pretty fair, what can you do? The guide is very good and rather nicely lays out several important paths for further study. Remember it can't cover all aspects of each subject and will always lack some detail that may be important to another.

PMDG 777 with 2560x1080
Simply ALT+ENTER into windowed mode and drag the window to display as 2.37 to 1 = 2560/1080. i.e drag the window so that it is for example 1900 wide by 801 pixels high. OK it doesn't contain the same number of pixels and it won't be at the resolution of the new monitor, but you can see what you'll be getting in terms of views.

FSX cracks/cuts in the screen
Click on the update link on the NVidia Inspector program and it will update you properly. Always start with a fresh profile, with NVidia Control Panel 3D section choose each profile and Restore/Apply. See here: More about using CP, and NI, for DX9, DX10, and DX11

FSX cracks/cuts in the screen
This is of general interest and possibly misunderstood by some FSX DX9 evangelists. I've used FSX DX10 Preview mode since it was introduced simply because of the improvements to the aircraft handling. The fact that the taxiway/runway intersections flashed at many airports caused me no concern whatsoever. Back then PC's were not so quick as they are today and the differences were not marginal. I consequently ignored scenery and planes that didn't support DX10. However now we have Steve's fixer, and the free .bat fixer in the file library, the dodgy looking graphics are gone too.

P3Dv3.1 strange CTDs
With HT enabled the CPU does more work in the same amount of time than it would with HT disabled. More work = more heat. An increased overclock = more work and will add more heat. If the system heat situation is far enough up the curve, you may need only a tiny increase in work to overheat it. If you've turned HT on and not considered that multi-threaded apps often start two processes per core instead of one this too will add to increase heat in the system which can lead to CTDs. You shouldn't get CTD's with a clean install and no addons.

not working at all................want my money back
You could have a problem that emerges only between two separate products, it's a waste of time installing everything before each stage has been checked. To find the problem requires deductive reasoning and selective testing of any product in isolation in the first instance of trouble arising. If you can show it does not work on a stock install of the sim then you have done your homework and the devs would have to respond to it.

Scenery issue around intense add on airports
Hi Bruce, those settings wouldn't normally contribute to problems like you describe, but at least you've checked it. I would try installing a stock FSX to see how it goes on that, I keep a stock install to swap in by renaming folders. A bit tedious but sometimes there's problems that are too hard to find otherwise.

P3D v3.3 PMDG 777 .NET Runtime with KERNELBASE.dll CTD
Have you tried running the 777 on a completely stock P3D? That is, no addons other than the PMDG. If that works install FSUIPC, retest, next install weather app and retest, next FTX Global, and so on...eventually you should arrive at your problem of CTDs and the culprit cornered.

Ch flight stick yoke + p3d v3.3 left tilt needs calibrated, constantly issue?
CH Control Manager works fine. Don't forget to have CMCtlCtr.exe startup when you log on: Install CH Manager and in your Startup folder place a shortcut to CMCtlCtr.exe C:\Users\[you]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup "C:\Program Files (x86)\CH Products\CMCtlCtr.exe" Set the yoke to the central position with the elevator adjuster wheel on the left of the shaft, then calibrate the controls.

Where to install fsx steam
You can put planes scenery and any other addons on any other drives you wish. Planes and scenery locations are set up in the config files. Keep things simple if you can.

Where to install fsx steam
Sounds like you got the idea. Maybe save your money as the two drives are quite good as it is.

Does using a 3rd party mesh increase VAS and slow down performance?
Increase in mesh resolution increases the number of digital elevation points, which increases the number of triangles to draw, and consumes more resources. This continues up to a point where no more resources are spared for it amongst all the other stuff running in the sim. At this point the distance which higher detail is actually viewable in the sim approaches the viewer. In extreme cases mountains appear to morph into view too closely.

Where to install fsx steam
You can run Explorer and locate the two drives? Say you only want a simple system and intend to only install a few Steam DLC addons for your FSX-SE. Just allow the installer to do what it suggests and it will all work well. It's got to be run once and you OK'd the EULA before it installs fully. If you intend a big setup with lots of older addons and want it all in one place on the big drive, locate the big drive in Explorer, right click on the root and choose New Folder, name it FS or Games, something simple. Then install FSX-SE and instruct the installer to make its directory in that folder.

Buying Win 7 on Amazon
Sure, I'm into nice cosy Win7 for FSX definitely. However going forward things may pan out with less problems presuming your new build is recent kit. Some have had troubles getting Win7 onto the newer builds. Win10 has all the new stuff and support for emerging hardware. FSX runs fine on Win10, check on forums for feedback from those using hardware, panels for example, see if your addon kit works with Win10 and what the problems are before going for it.
