Hi, I didn't receive mail notifications on topics I subscribed to since July 2024. I tried several measures, including changing mail address, was even in contact with @Bob Scott who told me at a point about a software/configuration change, but nothing did help. I was not banned, I could mail, and I received notifications from other fora like the MSFS official fora and ORBX, just not AVSIM. I finally lost interest in AVSIM and - for some more reasons - in flight simulation in general. Now, out of a sudden, I keep getting mail notifications again starting January 25. This message is to i) Inform those responsible that the measure they obviously took, has been successful, ii) Thank them cordially for working on this, iii) Telling those interested I might even start posting on AVSIM again, iv) Will make a donation towards AVSIM as an acknowledgement. At least one of the Community Managers could acknowledge having digested this and informed the devs. Only Speed1994 as a Forum Manager provided a positive feedback, but (I think) forum managers as volunteers don't have direct contacts to the devs. Kind regards, Michael

I only tried this once time ago (this was when we had issues with the WU PG cities) and don't recall detail. However, I doubt you can move the complete Official Folder as such, rather you make another folder (say /My Offical Folder Addons) where elements from the official folder can be shifted to and are linked from that place to the Official Folder. Basically, it's the same way as it's done with the Community Folder. In any case, I would take this option with a grain of salt. That's why it's under Advanced. Kind regards, Michael

I would welcome it too, it was great in P3D. However, I have quite a number of sceneries and I observe very few feature moving ships. There are some, but very few, so it seems to be "difficult" within the present SDK. Kind regards, Michael

Unfortunately not too relevant. A lot of default key bindings have been changed (for whatever reason...?). I suppose you can reset some of them to their previous functions with some patience, but I didn't try this. The Aerosoft DVD version comes with a printed keyboard layout for MSFS, but this edition has been available in Europe only and moreover is sold out already. Kind regards, Michael

The first step is simple. Go to OSM, select "Export" on top, next "Select another area manually" in the l.h.s. pane. Now you are given a selected area which you can modify. Then choose "Export" in the l.h.s pane. This only works for quite small areas, though. If you select a larger area, choose "Overpass API" in the l.h.s pane. This should give you a file map.osm as an input into ScenProc. Unfortunately I can't help you with the P3D scripts as I only did it for AeroflyFS where the scripts are different. But a good source for help is https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/ where Arno Gerretson the developer is around. Also the ScenProc manual has quite a number of scripts for FSX/P3D but I agree it's lenghty and there is a certain learning curve. Kind regards, Michael

You can use ScenProc https://www.scenerydesign.org/scenproc/ for that purpose. It creates OSM-based buildings and trees and is quite good - if the OSM data are good. It supports FSX, Prepar3d (including version 4), and AeroflyFS2 and I have used it for AeroflyFS2 myself. It needs a bit of learning, though, and you should search for pregenerated scripts. I just got a solution from user theskyisthelimit who originally enountered the issue. Obiously, a bad tile entered the cache and prevents any further action over and over. Here's the solution, should anyone else being stuck here. Go into the map window and "Erase (all) cached data" (upper left) . Credit goes to theskyisthelimit, now I can proceed.😊 Kind regards, Michael
