Is there a way to use Scenery Configurator to point the FSX SE to airports I have installed in FSX. I have FSX boxed and FSX SE installed on the same computer. i used the Scenery configurator but it kept coming up with a message that the airport I had tried to duplicate in FSX SE that I had installed in FSX could not be found. I went to group view having selected the FSX SE in Scenery Configurator then add area and put in the path to the scenery installed in FSX but It did not work in FSX SE. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thank-you Michael Houghton

I have recently purchased NGX reboot and have been using the button control. Is there a logic to when the check list which appears in the main Panel is usually Yellow but sometimes Orange. Also where it says the captain needs to perform the preflight procedure. I do not know how to do a Master Lights Test and dim test for example so is it a question of having to go through the FCOM PMDG 737 manual or are these procedures explained in a more simple way anywhere. I am sorry to have troubled you with this in retrospect a silly question as I have managed to work it out after seeing Robert's message and a little experimentation. I am now all installed up to date on original FSX and Steam FSX. Thank-you for your reply. Michael Houghton

I have been to the PMDG Operations centre and have a question about updating the PMDG 777 and 737 NGX as I only did an update in March. For the PMDG 777-200 LRF and the 777-300 ER do I need to uninstall the present version before installing the latest version as when I tried to install it it asked if I wanted to reinstall the previous version or remove the present version ? The PMDG 737 NGX refers for an update for FSX:SE so is the update for the 737 NGX just for the Steam edition of FSX or is it for the FSX original as well? Thank-you. Michael Houghton

Can someone explain or direct me to explanation of how to navigate with the VOR LOC. I have tired pressing LOC and LNAV but I a wondering if I need to put in a VOR and course or radial and hand fly with heading having selected VOR on the EFIS. Is there a way the 777 can follow the VOR LOC as in the 737NGX. Thank-you Michael

I have FSX installed on two computers and both have come up with warnings about proceeding with opening the FSX with the RAAS included with Aerosoft Airbus extended and PMDG 777 as it may be a security problem. If I click do not install the RAAS FSX works fine but if I proceed it crashes the FSX and it wants to restart the FSX. In fact I have gone into the RAAS dll and told it to disable the RAAS so I do not get this message. My question is that if I purchase the RAAS professional full version will it work and do I need to uninstall the RAAS included with the Airbus extended first. Thank-you Michael

I have a problem with the locked version of the RAAS supplied with the Aerosoft Airbus. On running FSX I get a message saying it is not recommended to use RAAS and indeed if I click yes to use it the FSX crashes. If I say no the FSX works fine but without the RAAS. The FS2Crew support suggest I may have a corrupt Simconnect file and need to install the SP2 or Acceleration pack . From what I understand I would need to uninstall the Acceleration pack and reinstall it which I understand will rewrite my FSXConfig file. My reason for explaining this is will I need to reinstall the DX10 scenery fixer after reinstalling the Acceleration pack Thank-you. Michael

Please could you clarify a few details before I proceed with this. I have not tried DX10 preview yet. I have made various tweaks to the FSX.CFG such as those recommended in the document "FSX Performance Tips and tweaks" If I installed this software would this undo all these tweaks or would I need to put all these tweaks back afterwards' A friend said that once installed it can be undone by the click of a button. In this case would my FSX.CFG go back to what it was prior to installing DX10 fixer. I think part of my uncertainty is that I can't find any details about this software and I want to be sure this will not upset my system. Thank-you. Michael

I was recommended this piece of software on as it would 1.improve frame rates and make the simulation smoother 2.reduce the chance of OOM problems with advanced aircraft such as the PMDG 777 3.make the scenery sharper At present I do not use DX10 preview and it is not clear whether if you use this software that you need to have set FSX to DX10 preview first. Any clarification on these issues would be appreciated Michael

Thank-you for the reply. I have to say I am very pleased with this program which has really helped to reduce the number of OOM and CTD problems associated with the advanced airliner software in FSX. I have to say I looked at it for a few weeks until I plucked up the courage to try it but now I understand how it works I would thoroughly recommend it. Michael

Please can anyone clarify whether it is necessary or advisable to change the priority numbers in group view. I know that in the actual MSFSX the default scenery is on the bottom and all subsequent scenery is loaded over this ie if I had 3 add on scenerys default would be 4 and the latest install of scenery would be 1. In list view the order of the scenery is as expected with the default at the bottom with the largest numbers I notice that since I have grouped the scenery the default scenery ( in the group view) has a lower number than some add ons suggesting the default would be lying over the add on. However in the list view the default is on the bottom with the largest number. I presume therefore that it is not necessary to change the Priority numbers in the group view. Michael

If I select a runway and a SID how do I cancel it. Today I chose a runway then a SID and then it stated the SID did not go with the runway. When I tried to change the runway it woiuld not change.The only way to change it was start a new departure and arrival in the FMC.Surely there must be an easier method.Help if possible.Thank-you.Michael Houghton

I am interested in the various favourable comments about the FSX on the imac.My main concern is that having felt how hot the back of the machines get in an apple shop would the computer become damaged by the intense requirements of PMDG 737NGX.Also I like to fly with a second monitor in my current windows computer fed off a single graphics card in my computer so I can use FS commander moving map.Is it possible to attach a second monitor to an imac?Thank-youMichael Houghton

I feel I must have missed something but I cannot find an option to select lb's or Kg in the FMCWhen I flew the airline in PMDG livery the unit was lbs. I then had a problem and had to reinstall the program which works and now I have downloaded the Air Berlin livery in the 737-800 W/L but it now says Kg in the FMC.Can anyone explain where the option is to change the fuel from kg to lbs or vice versa.Thank-you

I have resolved the problem by an unconventional route.i downloaded the latest version of Livery manager from PMDG site to my apple laptop. Then I sent it to myself as an email attachement. Then I downloaded the file to the desktop of my windows Vista computer and ran the file which was an exe file and it worked.All i can think of is that I had a corrupt download.Now I have managed to install a few liveries.

I installed the 737NGX and it worked and the livery manager opened.When I went to download liveries it said there was a new version of livery manager so I downloaded it and extracted it into the Livery Manager folder under PMDG in FSX . Then the livery manager would not work even if I run it as administrator. If I choose compatibility mode it is greyed out so I can not select the run as administrator tick box.When I run the livery manager it freezes my computer but if I run task manager it says the livery manager application is waiting for a response from me but I cannot see a box to respond to.I guess this is something to do with the windows vista security settings.Has anyone any idea how to get the livery manager to work.Thank-you
