There is some new freeware scenery out at several sites by Milan SMID that is autogen for Ireland photoreal scenery.It makes the photoreal look better.When I use photoreal Florida etc I use default scenery til I get to 2000' then switch to photoreal.This works almost as well at low level and better at high level.Just my humble "old man" tidbit for you gurus.I just added the texture folder to my Photoreal scenery folder and it looks good to me.Ron

Finally got it working from PC Aviator.Installed and happy.Which one had integrated clouds? not that it matters at this point "Hillary".How do I go from Metric to US?Thanks,ron

Download mgr is difficult for me.Sometimes runs smoothly other times it is difficult to get it going.Right now I am downloading REX something and slow but also dmg gas resume download in "no". Hoping it works.

I am looking at REX 4 - Texture Direct HD SP6 This seems to have ground textures.

charliearon OK,been dinking (my sub for f word in print) around and set it to 248 assuming we are working on multiples of 4,8 or 16.Then I went to 1048.Did not notice any performance drop and everything looks good.(Could be the beers while doing this,but who cares).This is always enjoyable figuring and tweaking and LEARNING from you young gurus.Thanks Ron

Thank you.I have no idea what any above response means.Sorry.You have it set at 512.What display differences am I looking for if I increase or decrease num?Do I assume decreasing gives better performance but lower guality and increasing the opposite?Just trying to increase my limited knowledge here.Thanks

Thanks for the reply.I used your terrain settings and looks good.1 problem.In locked spot view on grd trees and poles etc are leaning towards the rt like from heavy wind.Ron

I have been flightsimming for like 30 years and now I spend more time dinking around for improvements,solving problems etc.I know autogen has always been performance problem,but not what I am asking about.Tonight I am flying,seeing all the AG things pop up which bothers me and wonder what happens with no autogen.So I have been going back and forth between full ag and no ag.No ag nothing popping up and a lot less trees.Otherwise I see no difference.Am I missing something here like more bldgs etc?From what I see I would give up the more trees to get rid of the popping up scenery.I am obviously an old guy been doing this over 30 yrs so maybe I am missing something.Thanks,Ron

Megascenery is photoreal so I don't think u get changes in time or seasons

New to photo scenery and understand pros and cons.I have mse Illinois and just upgraded to MSE Florida 4X.Enjoying the scenery and turn it on and off at 1500'.What to do about airport overlays?I fly 4k' and still see dupe airports.I shut off MSE when landing and everything is good.Does this have to do with addon airports and AFCADS?Just curious.Old guy that has been doing this forever and trying to keep brain alive.Thanks,Ron

Thanks for the replies.Good info.When I use MSE 2X I use default scenery+GEX+UTX under 2000' then enable MSE..Not perfect solution but it helps.Ron

I am wondering why this would not work.I have copied entire fsx to outside drive.How about doing fresh reinstall of fsx base then copying/overwriting my entire backupbackup to new install?Just curious.Ron
