March 2Mar 2 Author OK Apologies I should have added the words "for me". I confess to being misled by a convincing AI explanation as why I was experiencing the issue with the HJet and the fact that the sim was working normally and 5 minutes later after installing the HJet it wasn't. My keyboard and Mouse profiles have not been changed changed since I installed the sim - still at default. But others have and quite extensively. Now after reverting all the other profiles to default or none and reinstalling the HJet the problem is gone. I will need to do some further detective work to see if I can reproduce the issue. Maybe the HJet just needed a reinstall. Bruce Edited March 2Mar 2 by brucewtb typo Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Check all your controls profiles, including the Airplane profile. I have a strong suspicion the answer lies there in the controls settings. I am needing to change back my airplanes profile and possibly one or two more profiles from session to session for the new 2024 Hjet. I think this may have something to do with it. I know that the keyboard and mouse profiles I had for the HJet were the defaults that you can't change but unsure about the others which have been extensively edited. So I put all profiles back to default or none settings and the sim has subsequently behaved normally with a reinstalled HJet. When the sim throws up an error after being stable for some time the first place I look is the last change which in this case was installing the HJet 5 minutes previously. Unfortunately AI rather convincingly led me to believe that the issue was wider than just my system. Bruce Edited March 2Mar 2 by brucewtb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Only thing I've found fixes this is downloading the aircraft again.... But then after one flight it is stuck again at practically 90 degrees from track (as in the aircraft icon and heading is 90 degrees roughly wrong from the track). There is a known issue whch has a workaround shown at this time point in this video. You have to enable the Vertical Situation Display to circumvent the heading bug. Permanent fix is pending I believe. https://youtu.be/dRMDabO5iLo?si=HXcuuxZ5ku09rDFq&t=242 Edited March 2Mar 2 by Vel

When AI starts a conversation it tends to imply that matters aren't your fault but are due to someone else screwing up. Now, while have found that AI can point you to things you may not have considered, it is easy for it to lead you down rabbit holes that go no where. Use with care. March 7Mar 7 Author Just for the information of my fellow simmers i have been getting this ESC keyboard error again and this time clearly unrelated to the Honda Jet. After a fair bit of detective work (this time positively assisted by AI) it seems the problem lay with the addon folders aerosoft-modellib-vdgs and/or aerosoft-vdgs-driver. On removing these two folders from my community folder the sim is back to normal. Now it is likely that the problem is not related to these folders of themselves but the way they interact with another addon or addons that could be faulty in some way I don't particularly need VDGS so I will just do without it for now. This error has a history of resolving then reappearing so I take this to be a likely fix but will see how things go. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." March 7Mar 7 Author Thanks but unfortunately this debugging feature is of little use in this instance because issue I have with VDGS is at startup before I can load a flight and test it out in sim. However I did check the log file and as expected there is no useful info only init and de-init time stamps. Just one other detail I got VDGS on ORBX so it was installed using ORBX rather than from a downloaded installer. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened."
