July 6, 2025Jul 6 I was under the impression Bing map was same as google maps with satellite images of the places we will fly over but it seems not. Blackpool near where I live there is no tower, not piers and most of the big landmarks are not there. If I use the software to change to google maps will I get all the landmarks ? I have tried installing some of the add on packages but can't seem to get them to work. This is the whole reason I got this package MSFS2020 so I would fly round my local areas and see all the landmarks. Thanks Alan
July 6, 2025Jul 6 Have you tried by chance the Map Enhancement Tool?: https://www.aiflygo.com Your landmarks (as long as they're 3D models or PG) won't be affected. Thanks Alan I use to live in Blackpool Alan - so although I am in Australia - I use Blackpool airport a lot for my UK simming and I can assure you - on my Bing maps - there is definitely a Blackpool tower - and with the shadow it causes you can have 2😁 As an aside - here in OZ - Bing maps are 4 years youger than Google - but I wish MSFS would use it instead of the 12 year old one they do use
July 6, 2025Jul 6 There is also this - https://orbxdirect.com/product/gbr-central-msfs?srsltid=AfmBOor_SsiV7rMoa2WeCrLU9_OKwiJ-XCcIXOCbB24CeNXW74UQdbqN I've no idea how good 'Central' is but I use GB South which does add quite a bit to the South West. Thanks but not keen on paying at this point when I am not getting free scenery to load. Thanks Alan
July 6, 2025Jul 6 Have you tried deleting your rolling cache? Martin Sims: MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 and X-plane 11 Home Airport: CYCW - Chilliwack, BC Canada i5 13600KF 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM, RTX3080TI Meta Quest 3
July 6, 2025Jul 6 I second the suggestion to purchase ORBx GB Central (and North and South for that matter). They make a big difference to the UK scenery. 'Fraid I'm a soft southerner so I've no idea what Blackpool is like. I've been to Morecambe and Heysham and that was enough to satisfy my curiosity 😎

Thanks Alan

Better than default ones but still blurry. MSFS 2024 can't handle aerials properly yet. P.S. Have you remember Jörg promised us Maxar aerials. 🤣
