No More Traffic in 2020

Featured Replies

I was on 2020 and had it set up correctly and had lots of traffic in conjunction with Real Traffic and AIG.  I moved to 2024 and updated PSXT to where I can switch back and forth.  However, when going back to 2020, I don't have any aircraft parked or flying.  My PSXT app appears to be working fine.  My install path is my 2020 community folder and everything shows green.  It is recognizing where i am and what plane I am in but I am not getting traffic.  I am on 10.4.2.  Could a setting gotten changed that I am not aware of?  Could something else be causing this?  Thanks!

Can you confirm that you have your 2020 install of AIG OCI in the same place as it was before you updated it for 2024?

How can I tell?  I have 2 different OCI folders in my community 2024 folder and only 1 in my 2020 (the one that says CVT Beta).  Should I copy the ones from my 2024 folder to 2020?  Funny though, i don't recall moving them when i set it up for 2024..

No no, the 2024 folder has different contents than the 2020 one. I just wanted to make sure that you didn't MOVE the 2020 OCI install to 2024 instead of just copy it.

I take that back, there are both OCI folders in my community folders.  I am just not sure if they are the same or if something changed.  I don't recall changing anything after I started using 2024

Actually, now that you say that, I think I did move the folder from 2020 to 2024.  I am guessing I should not have done that... things seem fine in 2024 though.  Just nothing showing in 2020.  Thoughts on how i can fix that?

Best to make sure whether your 2020 install of OCI is there or not. If you did move it and not copy it, you might be able to copy it back ensuring that you copy it to the correct folder location that is was in before. Then run a verify in AI Manager? I don't know if it has ever been done going back to 2020 like that though. It might not work, but trying and finding out is easier than having to reinstall it all again from scratch for 2020.

Ok... That sounds like a plan.  I'll give it a try.  Thanks!

Dave is right, the AIG packages are different for 2020 and 2024. Actually they have different names, in 2020 it ends with -beta, in 24 the -beta is gone.

Be aware to keep your 20 AIG if you want to go back to MSFS2020 or if you -like me- want to fly in both simulators.

Thanks.  I ran the AIG manager and pointed it back to 2020 last night.  I haven't been able to go into the sim to check yet but should be able to later today and will let you know if I have issues.

That seemed to work by running the AIG Manager again.  Can you do me a favor and let me know what settings again I would use if I want as close as possible to a 1:1 / 100% (or as close to 100%) to real world?  I like to start high and scale back to ensure max performance with as much traffic as possible.  I had that set up before but don't recall what I did as I set it up a while back

Start with all default values, simply by removing C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\PSXT\parameters.xml before you start PSXT.

Then depending on what you want: as many aircraft then aircraft matching depth at 4, as real as possible then aircraft matching depth at 2.

For static aircraft: as many then Soft checked and Max fit at 24,  as real then soft not checked and Max fit: 3
